And now for some more digi work...
Here is the latest layout from the Jessica Sprague class...I liked this one a lot and I learned how to space my text neatly on pre-designed lines...LOVE that! So now I have two layouts done of Kel for the year...just 10 more and I will have a little Christmas present done for the Grams and Aunts! Woo Hoo!
And the winner is...
No one! No one guessed correctly on the pumpkins...partially correct, but not entirely. The correct answer is...#1 is MS glitter, #2 & 3 are glass glitter. The MS glitter is SO vibrant & shiny...almost too much for me, but Kel loves it!
So, since no one guessed it and there were three of you who answered, each of you gets one of the jars of glitter! Next time I stop by SBU, will drop them off for you all!

Which of these is not like the other one?
What are you playing for? In organizing my glitter collection, I found some duplicate colors (what a shock!). So just in time for Halloween, I have some yummy purple and amber glitter to giveaway.

For Valerie
While on a shopping excursion this weekend with some friends, we realized that several of us have recipes for broccoli chicken divan. We all call it different names...some serve it over rice, some serve it over noodles, and some put rice in it. This is my family's take on this easy, yummy dish. (And we serve it over rice.)

579

579. That's how many days it's been since I've posted on here. Is that some sort of new record?
After discussing our mutual lack of blogging, my friend Christine and I decided we would start being good about this whole blog thing. But more than just having self-indulgent talk about ourselves, we are going to challenge ourselves to really DO SOMETHING CREATIVE EVERY DAY.
I've been stamping this (from Paper Source) on the backs of my greeting cards for awhile and Christine loved what it said. So, today is the beginning of doing something creative every day (or at least every week) for us!

Today, I started Jessica Sprague's online digital scrapbooking class and was able to create this layout in no time! OK, so really, I only had to crop, type, and move elements onto the layout...but it's my first one and I love it! It was much easier than I thought it would be! So for today, I humbly offer my first ever digital scrapbook layout. I might even be able to get those Christmas scrapbook presents done in time with this whole digital thing now!

Auction Goodies!
So, I never said how the auction went...I managed to keep my cold manageable and had the first cosmo in MONTHS. Ohhhhh it was yummy! So I had another...and another... There were lost of silent auction items then a live auction at the end of the night. It was a fun night with good food (Mexican!), exciting bidding, and just knowing that we were going home to a quiet house and wouldn't have anyone else waking us up in the morning--Kel spent the night at Grammy's.
The albums that I made did well...the cookbook alone went for three HUNDRED dollars!! I was shocked! Then the princess & Thomas books (and cookbook) all went to moms from our class & I was thrilled about that! Kelvin still wants another Thomas book for him plus a princess book for him and Madeleine and Marissa!
There were some great items to bid on...vacation rentals, car detailing (ok, great to Dave!), school parties and then...THE item...a birthday party that would be held at the fire station for ten children. Well, can I just say that when I read this in the catalog, I knew we HAD to have this for Kelvin! The kids would get to do different activites including SHOOTING the water hose!! So when we got there, we bid, and we bid, and then we bid more. Then I thought it was too much out of our reach and I stopped bidding. I was lamenting to Kel's teachers that we must be at the wrong school with such high auction amounts and was feeling a bit down. Dave came over and told me that he put us down again and the other bidders had stopped. (I do love my husband, but sometimes oh MAN do I love him!!) It was so TENSE waiting for that table to close! Then at the one minute announcement, one of the other bidders went over our bid. I hesitated for a moment...if I bid more would he just keep going til the clock was out? Would he leave the table if I just waited? I decided to be bold and went in front of him and wrote my bid down with a shaking hand. He mumbled something, I smiled and stood there and he walked away. The party was OURS!!!

I don't know who is more excited at this point...Kelvin or me! I'm already thinking about the invites that I'll make...think they might just have to include this picture taken at the Children's Discovery Museum last month:
We went home happy, tired, and with a much lighter wallet! When we picked up Kel the next morning, Mom & Tantine were generous enough to help pay for Kel's firehouse extravaganza. Hurry hurry July get here!
