Here's Our BOY!!!

HERE'S OUR BOY!
Image
Chase Richards Baker

Born November 28, 2010

7lbs. 11oz. 19.5in.

We are so excited to welcome our little bundle of joy. Chase is such a cutie!

Kelly woke up about 3 in the morning having light contractions. By 6am she decided to wake me, telling me she had packed a bag and to get dressed! its time to go...

I fell back asleep and then was awoke again by a "are you serious?" Let's go!
She was 10 days early but decided to"will" the baby out on a Sunday morning so that the kids would be in school when she got home and she could relax...J/J. The real reason was, Kylie had just finished a soccer tournament and had another one along with Kassi the following weekend and was determined not to miss her girls play....and she didn't.
"It's the truth!"
So we got to the hospital and by 10:30ish we had the most perfect little boy you had ever seen...No really that's what everybody said it wasn't just us...:)
Chase has a bit of dark hair and a dimple his right cheek. He is one handsome fella, just like his Dad.

It's been an adjustment for all of us, its been 5 YEARS since we've had a little one but its going great!
The girls LOVE him to pieces and don't have any problem helping out or correcting each other constantly on who's doing what wrong...
All there motherly instincts have kicked in and its such a joy to see them as
"mothers in training"
Mickey O Mickey what can we say...Well it seems he's truly become a man...finally... :)
According to his brother in-laws. He has finally brought honor to his family with his MALE
off spring...
He is a very proud papa and uses the word "son" quiet often.
We are all surviving for now, check in in a couple of months and we'll see how its going then...

Kylie played in her 1st U11 tournament and there team did great! Taking 2nd place only losing by one goal for 1st. We are so proud of Kylie she has been playing goalie for a year now and has done well. We hope she'll continue to grow and develop her skills in soccer. She has also done well in school with A/B honor roll. She wrote a "D.A.R.E" (Drug abuse restriction education) essay on friendship over the winter break and got 1st place! She now will read it in front of the whole school. She was also selected by her art teacher to design and make a flag that will be flown at Tivoli, a new mall.
She also graduated from elementary school and is so excited to move on to Jr. High at Sig Rogich. She went on a 5th grade trip to San Francisco. She was able to learn some American history, camp, and site see places like Alcatraz and ride the trolleys. She then was home for two days and was off to BYU softball camp with her friend Makall. She had a great time. We are so proud of Ky and her accomplishments.
Keep going Ky!

Kassi played her first tournament with her Little Tornadoes. She also played a great game. She's been on the same coed team for a year and a half now and has done well at holding her own against the boys. In January they decided to split the team making a girls and boys. Both teams went to the Championship and won. Kassi not only scored the winning goal in the playoffs, she also was put in as goalie in a sudden death PK's shoot out in the championship game. She stopped 4 out of 5 shots on goal and her team won the game! Her coach later wrote her an email telling her how proud he was of her and what a great job she has done. She has definitely surprised us with her skill on the field.
Kassi also took Hip Hop this year and had a recital where she "got loose" and showed us her moves!
She is also a straight A student. She received "A honor roll", the" Principles award" and "Staton Stars". Way to go Kas!!!!

Kyndl started Kindergarten and graduated yeah! She is off and running to 1st grade and looking forward to eating lunch in the lunch room. She is still in ballet/tap and had a recital and did a routine to the "Witch Doctor" it was awesome! She loves to dance! Kyndl also loves to draw. She is an artist at heart and decorates her room often with all her pictures. She loves to help with Chase and helps mom with cooking and cleaning. Holidays are the best for Kyndl, she can't get enough of decorating. She's always asking to put more up. Gee i wonder where she gets that from???(Kelly)
She tried soccer out and lets just say she saw lots of planes flying over head and butterflies...
but she rocked the uniform. :)
She's definitely our free spirit.

We went to Disneyland about 15 days after Chase was born. We had a great time of course. Chase was a champ sleeping comfortably the whole time. Christmas was next and was wonderful. We spent our first Christmas in our new home and enjoyed every minute. Following Christmas was Kassi's birthday. She turned the big 8. We had a nice little family party for her the day after Christmas.(Yes, just when you thought the presents were done.) She ripped through them like Christmas never happened. She also got a bike and is loving it.

Next....

NEXT yes next was New Years. Not only New Years but also Kassi's baptism, Chases' blessing and the Baker Christmas party we hosted at our home. The baptism and blessing were beautiful, and Mickey did a great job. Kassi wore my baptism dress ( which we had to lengthen, of course) and she looked like a beautiful lovely girl. Chase looked handsome as well in his blessing outfit. (Handsome, that's a new word I need to get use to using....)
Image Soo... That's our crazy six months. We are definitely looking forward to a little slow time. Of Course Kylie already started soccer again so I guess our crazy little lives begin again!

Halloween 2010!!! Boooo!!!!!

Image The girls were so cute this Halloween. It started with Kyndl wanting to be Alice.
This was a great costume for our sweet Kyndl. It built from there on.
Kassi then so fittingly wanted to be the Queen of Harts which funny enough fit her personality towards Kyndl. (Off with her Head!) Kylie finished up the trio being the Mad Hatter.
(Enough Said:)
We spent the night with Friends and family. We also headed to Grandma and Grandpas. Then we trick -o- treated Kelly's neighborhood she grew up in. She tells us the people would bus there families in from all over the valley just to check out the haunted houses and get candy costing her parents $500 + in candy each Halloween. They had a great time this Halloween.
Its always such a fun and crazy night.

It's The BIG 10!

Image
That's right! I almost passed out just thinking about Kylie turning 10. All the emotions....."I can't believe she's 10!" and "I can't believe I'm getting old!" " I can't believe she almost in Jr. High....O no!" But I survived my quarterly-life crises.

We had to skip the Lake this year due to a horrific storm that washed out the marina. Maybe next year. Ky still had a great time with both old and new Friends. She and all her cute friends started the night with a scavenger hunt (which was very intense, girls running all over the neighborhood knocking and screaming. I apologize to all the neighbors.) Next the gobbled down pizza and some red velvet cup cakes and headed to the ice skating rink. They had a blast holding on to the wall and pushing themselves around:). Eventually getting the hang of it for the most part. They all looked so cute and way to grown up, especially when they were seen talking to an older boy...Ekk...It was really Kylie's friend doing the talking and Ky had a look on her face like...(We are wasting skate time! Lets go! Who cares hes just a boy!) and ended up just walking away.) That was a proud moment :) Hope she stays that way for a loonnngggg time.

A Happy Birthday to you! Kylie girl. We love you!

School Year 2010

Image Ok I'm really behind. I'm just now posting pics of the girls first day of school. We moved this summer and the girls are attending a new school. We had to leave our beloved Richard Bryan (Go Bulldogs!) and have started at E.W. Staton. (Go Pioneers! Doesn't have quit the same ring to it...) But the school has been great and the girls have adjusted well.
Kylie started 5th grade. I know crazy huh! I cant believe how old and tall she is getting.
Kassi is in second and loving ever minute. She's got straight A's and has made lots of new friends. Kyndl has begun kindergarten and is adjusting well to going everyday. She was a little shy at first but it didn't take long to get her pep back in her step. Enjoy some pics!

The Cabin 2010

Image
It's been quit the year for animal sightings up here.

From buffalo to Elk to Moose to Bears, etc.....We have been having a great time relaxing in this beautiful place. The girls have enjoyed 4 wheeling, floating the river, fishing, and trips into Yellowstone. We've been here 3 weeks and Mickey is heading up tonight for 10 more days of fun. We are having an "unofficial" Fife reunion (long story) and a Richards semi-kinda reunion....

Kassi has begun to master the green 4wheeler and is itching to advance to the gray one. (that won't be happening any time soon) although she is doing very well. If we could only teach her how to ride a bike....She has continued to enjoy catching her fish and eating them and has had a fun time playing with her cousins.

Kyndl has grown a lot this summer. She has conquered her fear of the boat and actually jumped right into a raft with Kylie and Kassi to float down from there Uncle Toms cabin the first day we were here. She also loves to fish and to my surprise was able to reel in her own fish all the way by herself! I was very impressed to say the least. She also lovvvvesss her worms, she loves to take them out talk to them, explaining to them that they will be ok when they get put on the hook and eaten by a fish. She is a very caring girl. She was a alittle bit in shock when we caught the fish them "cleaned" them out. Apparently she thought we caught them and kept them in a tank. She handled the truth fairly well.

Kylie continues to remind me of myself.
She's always looking for the next adventure up here and will try almost anything once. She has enjoyed her cousins as well. She continues to ride the 4wheelers, fish and added kayaking to her resume. She has done really well and mastering her balance. Frog creek still remains one of her favorite places to go as she asks over and over and over everyday. Just a few more years and she'll be good to go on her own and I cant wait for that time....
She has also been a great help to me this summer.

That's about it for now, till Mickey comes. I'm sure I'll have a story or 2 once his 10 days are up.

IT'S A BOY!!!!

Yes, you heard right. Mickey and I are having a boy. It came as a bit of a surprise but if we did have to have a surprise this is a good one! Mickey is sooo excited, I am too. When the ultrasound tech announced it was a boy Mickey kinda started yelling(although he says he wasn't, but he was),"Are you SERIOUS! are you SERIOUS!" then he shed a few tears. So here we go again....It's been 5 years since we've had a baby so this should be quit a ride!
