The Long Siege

Image
"We are truth-speakers, we men of Gondor. We seldom boast, and then perform, or die in the attempt." In my opinion, the Battle of the Pelennor Fields is the best portion of the epic story thus far. There is something so gripping, so thrilling, about seeing the progression from before the battle, exploring besieged Minas Tirith, riding around the different portions of Pelennor during the battle, and walking around after-battle Minas Tirith. I think the way the developers handled telling the story of one of the largest battles in Minas Tirith was absolutely breathtaking. And thats when and why I knew I wanted to take screenshots for this outfit in besieged Minas Tirith. In an all black outfit, with a mix of leather and metal, it fits in with the dark, foreboding skies of the battle stricken city, and the fire and ruin throughout each tier. Some of the screenshots are dark, yes, but I really needed something so dark and intimidating to really capture this outfit. ...

Bleak as Winter - Region Series Part V

Image
When I was posting on this blog on a consistent basis, the  Region Series  was my favorite series I've ever worked on. I also had two other series' on this blog,  Crafted Sets with Cosmetic Value  and  Matching A Steed , but the region series was truly my favorite. There's something so magical about taking a region, an entire region, and trying to form an outfit inspired by that region. It is truly a difficult task. Every single region is so unique and diverse, and while it may maintain the same general feel, every single village or homestead within that region each has its own flair. It's odd that I chose Wildermore as the region to bring back this series with. All in all, it is one of my least favorite regions in the game. It is beautiful, yes, but it is incredibly desolate and forlorn. Even Forochel, just as snowy and bleak, has more activity and homeliness to it than Wildermore does.  I began this outfit with the shoulders; I was oh so close ...

Dragon Scale

It's been such a joy as of late to working on outfits again. Nowadays, whether I'm running dailies or doing quests or really doing anything in game, I'm constantly thinking about what sort of outfits I could do inspired by the region I'm in, or what sort of screenshots I could take. When I took my blog hiatus I focused so much on getting a character to cap (which I was able to do.. twice), and then gearing said characters for end game content. Even though both characters aren't tier 2 ready yet, it's been very fun having different things to work on in game, not just leveling and gearing.  This outfit is fully based around the absolutely beautiful Draigoch cloak my friend and fellow cosmetic blogger Nathrien so kindly gifted me.  In comparison to the cloak, I wanted everything else to be simple, or at least I tried. I got really distracted by how amazing the Doom-hunter's shoulders are and just had to include them in the outfit, and I think they...

Undercover Corsair

Image
It has been over two years since I last made a post. Not only that, it has been two full years since I have made a brand new outfit in LoTRO from scratch. I wasn't planning on coming back to this blog, just because I group a lot more and primarily focus on end game content nowadays. But out of the blue came this outfit. I had been working on putting back together an old outfit but I was sent an idea for some Ost Dunhoth shoulders and before I knew it I had put together a corsair inspired ensemble.  The shoulders were the base piece for this outfit. I loved the fact that they still looked light, while having the wing like feel as well, which can be harder to find (think heavy Nadhin shoulders). Next, while still at the same Ost Dunhoth barterer, I found the chest and legs, and absolutely loved the way that they both had armour and cloth, which makes them a very versatile look.  I'm a huge fan of fingerless gauntlets, and thus I had to choose a pair, and I real...

Winds of Frost

Image
It has been quite sometime, two and a half months to be exact, since I last posted. There have been a lot of contributing factors as to why I haven't posted, but the main reasons why were 1. I mentally needed a break. 2. I haven't had much inspiration lately. I feel like I should only be posting outfits that are worthy of recognition, and if I kept cranking out weekly outfits, they wouldn't be the high quality that I expect from myself. In the month of December, I decided to do something I had never done before: purchase a quest pack. You might be curious why I never purchased one before, but it was mainly a money and commitment issue. With the purchase of the Quad Expansion pack, the amount of gorgeous cosmetic pieces I gain access to is immense. I am very happy with the pieces I have been able to add to my cosmetic library. As for the outfit, it was inspired by Frostbluff. Frostbluff is the home of my absolute favorite festival in-game, and I wanted to do ...

Defender of the Sutcrofts

Image
Rohan is and always be one of my favorite regions in all of Middle-earth, with its open plains and gorgeous skies. The Sutcrofts is a region that really encompasses all of the things that I love about Rohan. The fields are so very green, with large bushes and trees, and a sky of the most gorgeous color.  I've always loved the hauberk that came with the Helm's Deep expansion purchase, with its white horse emblem, the dark green background, and the bits of chainmail. I wanted simple shoulders and gloves that would also give a very warrior-like look and feel, besides giving the main attention to the chest piece.  I wanted a statement cape, as that isn't something I use much, and with the man killing an orc on the back of it, it is indeed a statement piece. The boots were warlike and a strong finishing piece. A kinmate has recently been requesting that I made a few warsteed pairings, so I decided to put one that I made on beta with this outfit! Shoulder...

the Hunter

Image
For sometime now, I have been wanting to do an outfit inspired by each class in the game. As the hunter is one of the most played classes, I thought it was fitting that I started with this class. The main idea and inspiration behind this outfit was green, Rivendell green to be exact, and gold. The grass in the hills of the Hidden Valley is green, and the leaves of the trees are gold, though they are a different shade then the Mallorns found in Caras Galadhon.  With my never ending love of hauberks, this hauberk was chosen, and as it also has gold stitching throughout, it was a good chest/leg piece. The boots and gloves both dyed well, and had lovely gold accents to them, so they complimented the gold in the hauberk.  When I think of the word hunter, I think something hidden, so the large head piece was fitting. It doesn't cover the face like a mask would, but it does cover some features of the face. The shoulders were battle friendly, and I found them q...
