I’m a venture capitalist, entrepreneur, and technology executive.
I currently serve as a partner at Lightspeed. I’m also the co-founder of Oboe. On behalf of Lightspeed, some of my active portfolio companies include Granola, Suno, xAI, Neuralink, Pika, TollBit, Lightfield, Macroscope, Particle, and Hopscotch Labs.
I previously co-founded and served as CEO of Anchor, which is the world’s largest podcasting platform, and is now known as Spotify for Creators. Anchor was acquired by Spotify in 2019, where I went on to serve as the Head of Talk, leading the podcast and video businesses.
Prior to founding Anchor, I served as VP of Product for Aviary, growing the photo editing platform’s audience to over 100 million creators before being acquired by Adobe in 2014. Before that, I worked in the music industry at Atlantic Records and in consulting at Accenture.
I’m originally from New York and currently live in New Jersey. Some other things about me:
- Big New York sports fan, especially the Mets
- Playing the drums since grade school, and got to play some of my favorite venues/festivals, including Bowery Ballroom, Warped Tour, and Irving Plaza
- Studied Computer Science and coded professionally after graduating, but much prefer product design (though AI is getting me back into code)
- A few of my favorite podcasters referred to me as “one of the godfathers of podcasting”
