Macy Pics

I know it's been awhile since we've posted, but, as you can imagine, we've been a little busy! It's been a really good past week or two. Macy is doing really well and has been such a great baby. She is sleeping well during the night and pretty much just gets up to eat and then goes right back to sleep. We did have one pretty rough night - I woke Michael up at 5 a.m., I hadn't slept yet, and Macy and I were both in tears! But other than that, things have been good. Here are some pictures we have taken over the past week or two:

Macy is looking at herself in a mirror on her playmat. She just stared...

This is after Macy's 1st bath. It kind of looks like she's yawning, but she is just taking a breath from screaming.

I love this picture. Michael was watching Macy this morning while I was showering and this is how I found them when I got out:

Macy's Going Home Clothes!

Image

The dress Macy is wearing is her first dress. Her great-grandmother, affectionately known as 'Nannie,' bought it for her. Nannie was here for Macy's birth and has been such a blessing to Katie and I. We know that Macy will be blessed by her, especially spiritually, in the future. Obviously, I am biased, isn't she beautiful? Not that it matters what she wears... Macy continues to do well. Hopefully, she will sleep more tonight. Katie is doing well and I am just trying to help where I can. We are so thankful to have Katie's mother, Angela, staying with us this week. Otherwise, we would be relying on my cooking and most of you can guess what that would be like. Jack has been introduced to Macy, which went ok. He has been very upset, as he has spent almost the entire last week outside. We'll keep you updated on how he does with Macy as time goes on.

The Clark's version of March Madness!

Image Image

Here are a few pictures from Macy's second day. We got to come home yesterday afternoon! It was a long, but good first day/night. She is eating well, which is a big relief for Katie and I. Early this morning tried our patience, but a bowel movement come through to help everybody relax. Katie is recovering well, but still has some pain and is very tired. Katie and I did find time to complete our brackets, but that was about it. Hopefully, the only March Madness at our house will be on TV. Finally, we wanted to say thanks to everybody for the posts, emails, calls and prayers.

Macy Kate Clark!

Image
Katie and I are pleased to announce the birth of our daughter, Macy Kate Clark. She was born at 5:54 p.m. today (March 17), weighed 7 pounds, 8 ounces and was 20 inches long. Macy is doing great and Katie is recovering well. We are at Lakeside Hospital, room 3. We would welcome visitors tomorrow (Tuesday) late afternoon/evening. We hope this finds you all doing well and thanks for sharing in this wonderful blessing with us. Thank you for your prayers for Macy (and mom)!

Quick Update

No Macy yet. There was pretty much no change on Thursday when we went to the doctor. We are going in Sunday night to start the induction process, so Macy should be here sometime on Monday! Looks like we are going to have a little St. Patrick's Day baby. We are really excited and appreciate all your thoughts and prayers!

We are trying anything to bring Macy out!!!

Image

We recently had some pictures taken by our good friends, Brad and Terra Myers. They did an excellent job and we (yes, even I) had fun taking them. This was my favorite one. It was not planned, but I thought it was appropriate for what is going on. Katie is doing ok, but she is miserable. We are trying almost anything to get Macy to come out and play! Good news, Katie is done with school, but that just means she gets to be miserable at home. We are telling ourselves that she is not coming without help, but who knows. Calling anyone is out of the question, because they think we are having the baby. That is ok, but it is never fun to disappoint someone. Katie is exercising everyday, but to no avail. So, please keep those prayers coming, especially for Macy and Katie's health, but also her staying comfortable. Also, whether it is meditation, rubbing your lucky rabbit's foot or voo-doo dolls, keep those good thoughts coming for Macy to come out and join us!!

"Are you still pregnant?"

That's the question Dr. Huff asked me when I saw her today. Apparently she is also really surprised that Macy isn't here yet. There was hardly any change from last week to this week - I'm dilated to a whopping 1 1/2 cm, Macy still hasn't dropped yet, and I'm still having lots of contractions. We went ahead and scheduled an induction for the morning of March 17th, so we at least know she will be here by then. I know I still technically have a little more than a week until my due date, but like I said before, Michael and I just had in our head that she was coming early and we want her here! So we are just waiting...Here's the latest belly pic:

Spring Sing

Well, no baby yet. Macy is taking her sweet time getting here which is just fine (I guess). We've been so anxious for her to get here because we had so many indications she was coming early. Oh well. Just two more weeks (at the most...at least I hope!) We were happy to make it to this weekend because we went to see Spring Sing! It was Myra's first time to do Spring Sing with her club, Iota Kappa Phi. They did a great job and won best lyrics, which I know they were so happy about. I also have to say I was SO excited to see the women of Gamma Rho take 1st place! I was so proud of my Gamma girls! Here's a picture of Michael and I with Myra:

On a side note, I think my food cravings are the worst they have ever been. In the beginning, I craved Egg McMuffins, Nacho Supreme from Taco Bell, Chicken Tortilla Soup from McAlister's, and chips and queso, but I really haven't had a lot of cravings lately. Michael and I went grocery shopping last night and here are some of the items that I just HAD to have that I hardly ever buy: powdered donuts, cookies 'n cream ice cream, cheese puffs, junior mints, iced animal crackers, oreos, and caramel Hershey kisses. Good grief! Macy needs to hurry and get here so I'm not the pregnant lady that packs on 10 lbs. the last week or two of pregnancy!
