Macy's First Cereal

Macy had her first cereal last week. She did pretty well for the first time and just wanted to play with the spoon at the end. After a week she is doing much better. As you can see from the pictures, we are having new hair issues. We finally got rid of her mullet, now she has some hair that just won't lay down. Oh well...

Van Homecoming '08

We had a great time at homecoming! We went to the pep rally and game and got to see some old friends. Here are a few pics from the weekend:

This picture is kind of dark, but it's at the pep rally. I'm doing a cheer with all the ex-cheerleaders.

Image Macy and I at the pep rally. Macy really liked it. I was afraid she would be scared by all the noise, but she was good.
Image Mace with the Vandal - she wasn't a big fan.
ImageI got to see one of my really good friends, Steph and her daughter Presley. Steph and I had LOTS of fun together in high school. I miss her!

Tagged...

Ok, as promised here are a few random facts about me:

1. I've bungee jumped twice...within an hour of each other. When we were in Vienna, I jumped with Penny and then Brookie decided she wantedto jump too, so I was more than happy to go twice!

2. I'm a little OCD about things...when I was teaching, I had a certain color pen that I used for each hour. First hour was purple, second hour was blue, third hour was green, etc. I would only use that color pen for grading papers, recording in gradebook, and taking roll. If I didn't have my pen, I couldn't grade. One time I lost my purple pen, so I spent $10 to buy an entire new set of pens. (For those that know Michael and how he is with the budget, this didn't make sense to him.)

3. One of my thumbs is shorter than the other one. It's genetic, but I don't know anybody else in my family that has it.

4. I was (and still am) a little obsessed with Steve Prefontaine. When I was in Germany, I jumped a couple of fences to get on the track that Pre ran on in the 1972 Olympics.

5. I can hardly drink coffee anymore. I used to drink at least a cup a day, but when I got pregnant with Macy, even the smell of coffee made me sick. Now I'll have a cup every once in awhile, but I don't love it like I used to.

6. I was a pre-med major until a semester before I graduated. I had shadowed some doctors and done some other things, and finally decided it wasn't for me. It kinda stunk that I had gone through all the other stuff, but at least it got me out of organic chemistry II my last semester!

Happy 1/2 Birthday Macy!

Happy 1/2 Birthday to Macy! (For those of you that don't celebrate 1/2 birthdays, you should. It's fun.) I can't believe our little girl is 6 months old today. The past 6 months have been great...minus those first few weeks...those, not so much fun. :) Macy seems to be growing and changing everyday and we've really started seeing her little personality. She is always smiling and generally in a good mood...as long as she has not missed her nap! She is still sleeping well at night and sleeps anywhere from 10-12 hours, so that is great for me and Michael. Mace loves being outside and really loves the "runs" she goes on with her Mommy. Macy isn't crawling or scooting yet, but she rolls all over the place and can get anywhere she wants to go. She's already said "Mama" and has also said "Dada" a couple of times. (She said "Mama" first...I win Michael!) We went to the doctor today and Macy is 14 lbs. 9 oz. (25%) and 25 in. long (25%). Here are a few pictures I took this week. I couldn't decide which ones to put up, so I'm putting them all up. I love her faces in these:

We went to the Delta Alumni Softball Game this week. As Michael said, "If they're calling me to play, you know they are desperate." We had a good time hanging out with the Byrds and Brookshires. It's still a little weird going to Delta stuff...sweet Gamma girlst just didn't do things like that! Haha! Just kidding...kinda :)
I love these two pics of Macy:

I also saw that Ginny tagged me, so I promise to get to that sometime soon. Michael, Macy, and I are headed to Texas tomorrow so I can go to my high school homecoming! I'm super excited...I know, I know, I'm a dork!

Catching Up

Once again, I haven't been the best about posting. We had a rough week last week. My cousin, Phillip, passed away last Monday after being involved in a car accident. Michael, Mace, and I (as well as my sister Lacey) traveled to Texas to be with our family. I think a lot of us were still in shock. I will ask for prayers for all my family, especially my Aunt Vickie. Phillip was her only child and was just 33 years old, and as you can imagine, it's been extremely difficult for her. We sure will miss him.

I will do my best to update what else has gone on the past couple of weeks...

Macy went to her very first cross country meet in Edmond to cheer on her Bulldogs! It was SO good seeing all my girls. They did really well and placed 2nd - they missed 1st by only 3 points. I was really proud of them.
Starting her early...

Michael and I went to the OU/Cincinnati game together. It was our first time to leave Macy :( I left her with Michael a couple of times before, but that was it. My mom and grandmother came up to watch her and did a great job. Thanks! I didn't cry...but did call home to check on her at least 8 times.

This is the conversation Michael and I had after coming home from church a couple of Sundays ago:

Me: Honey, what is wrong with your hair?!? Did you try to cut it?

Michael: Well, I was trimming my side burns and it looked like the side needed to be trimmed a little too, so I just did it.

We had a good laugh about this one. I'm sure everybody at church was wondering what was up with his hair, but I sat on his left side all morning, so didn't notice until we got home!

Here's a pic before I fixed his hair:

Labor Day Weekend

First of all, Macy was VERY excited about college football starting this weekend! She is loving her Texas Longhorns. (Michael is going to kill me for posting this picture.)

Image
Michael, Macy, and I had a great labor day weekend. Friday we headed to Tulsa and stayed the night with our good friends, Clint and Sheridan. They have 3 precious boys and we had so much fun spending time and catching up with them.

Austin and Macy - we've already decided they are getting married. :) I love how Austin's arm is around Macy!

Hudson, Austin, Macy, and Garrett. The boys were so sweet to Mace.

We then headed out to Jeff and Elaine's cabin on Ft. Gibson Lake. It was really good seeing all the family. It was a nice, relaxing weekend full of great fellowship and lots of yummy food :)

On Monday, we were back in Edmond and Kody and Ginny had us over to her parents' house for a playdate between Jack, Bailey, and Midori. Jack had a blast making new friends. He also had a blast swimming in their pool! Jack has never been swimming before. We have a kiddy pool in our backyard for him to stay cool in the summer, but that's the only water he's ever been in. So, I was shocked when he bailed off into the pool and just started swimming. He LOVED it!

Macy also got to meet the Herndon's cat, Rookie. Macy loved Rookie, and Rookie didn't claw Macy's eyes out when she pulled her fur.

Macy all bundled up, ready for our run today...only to find out the stroller had a flat tire.

Austin's 1st Birthday and Family

Austin's 1st birthday was last weekend, so Lacey, Morgan, Macy, and I all headed down to Texas for the party. Michael was playing in the MRCC golf tournament, so he couldn't make it. Macy didn't really sleep all day, so she was NOT happy by the time we got to the party and wouldn't let anybody else, except me, hold her. I wasn't able to get any pictures, so thanks to Aunt Lacey for hers!

Nannie, Macy, me, Austin, and Jessi

We had a wonderful Labor Day weekend with family and friends and I will get those pictures up in the next couple of days.
