I Survived

So I have had probably the worst three weeks and a few days that I have ever had. Now it isn't what you think. Kaidy has been a gem. She even started sleeping through the night. No, I have had not one, not two, but three bouts of mastitis within the last 3 and a half weeks. It is the worst illness I have ever had!!!!!!!
My first case was in Blackfoot. It is amazing how fast it hits. I felt normal on Saturday night then Sunday morning I'm freezing to death. By noon I feel like I'm going to die. We went into a clinic in town and got the drugs a few days later I'm able to function. Hurray I'm done, or not.
Then a few weeks ago I start feeling those beginning symptoms. I hurried and called the Doctor got the drugs. So this time I should do better since I got a jump on it, right. No I threw up all day, every hour (not an exaggeration) until I could get some anti nausea medication. Then I was so nauseated but unable to throw up that I didn't eat anything and barely drank anything for three days. Not my kind of fun. I couldn't even take care or think about Kaidy. Thank heavens for Mack and for all of you that helped out.
And just a few days ago, before I was even finished with the antibiotics from the second bout I got it again. This time I went into a Ready Care at midnight, had a temp of 103.5, got an IV, Drugs, and strong antibiotics. I'm still on the mend and have had another shot of the big dog antibiotic along with a few other tests to see if they need to do anything else.
Wow who knew that being a lactating mother could be so hard. It defiantly isn't all that it is cracked up to be. It defiantly isn't for me and I'm throwing in the towel.
So to all of those women out there that do breastfeed, GOOD JOB you are AMAZING, and to all of those women out there that aren't able to breastfeed. It is OK, there is no shame in keeping you and your baby healthy by other means.

A smile....

A smile is worth a thousand words. Kaidy will now look up at me and Mack and smile at us on purpose. It is the cutest thing and makes your heart melt. She is growing up so fast and has cute little rolls springing up everywhere. We are loving watching her grow.

birth announcement

Image
Here is kaidy's birth announcement. It only took me a month to get around to it. We have enjoyed having our little sweet heart here, and can't believe that a month has gone by already. She has completely changed our lives, but we would never trade it. Even when she keeps you up all night. :) Ha Ha. She is growing so fast. She will follow the sounds you make when around her and loves to watch lights. She also loves to look at you for hours if you get close enough. Sleeping on daddy chest is still a favorite. She is almost able to hold her head up all by herself. What a big girl. She is also starting to get those adorable rolls on her legs and arms.

Kaidy's first camping trip

Image We went camping in Ledore ID. We were camping right next to a lake, in the picture our camp site is right across the lake form where me and Mack are standing, was beautiful. We also set up the projector and watched videos at night on the wall tent outside.
