A lot has happened in the last couple weeks! It's been about 3 since I was admitted to the hospital. I continue to be on bedrest, but thankfully at my house instead! I'm trying my best to stay down, but it is hard not to pick up things around the house and do all the "wife & motherly" duties :) I have had so much help though from my husband, visiting teachers, people in the ward, my family, and especially my aunt Claire that lives here in Oregon. She helps keep me on my back by doing all my house work for me!! And keeping me company. She is the best! I'm overwhelmed with the love and charity we've been given in the past month.
Last friday, Chase and Sam flew up to Bozeman, for not the greatest of circumstances. Chase's Grandpa Joe passed away and they went to attend his funeral. I had to stay home on bedrest (Doctor's orders). I was sad I couldn't go, but knew it would be best if I stayed here and tried to get some rest. (Try to keep these little babies in my tummy). Sammy had a great time flying on the airplane and traveling with Daddy, but I think Chase was glad to get to Bozeman finally to have his family there to rescue him and help entertain Sam. :) Traveling by yourself with a 2 year old can get a little exhausting!
Look at those handsome boys in their suits and ties.
Overall, I think the weekend went well and it was nice to have all the Heap family together.
I thought I was going to be home alone all weekend, sad and missing Chase and Sam. But my wonderful Aunt Joyce from Utah, dropped everything and flew down to stay the week with me!! Her and Aunt Claire came over everyday and pampered me! They did all my house work, made me meals, took me to the Doctor and played Dominoes and Hand & Foot with me. They even spoiled me with lots of baby clothes and a much needed car seat! My Uncle Art even got in on the fun, and made some yummy lemon bars and the tastiest apple cobbler I have ever eaten! We had a great time and it made having Chase and Sam gone a little more bearable.
On Saturday my wonderful friends from Dental school threw me a baby shower, so both my Aunts were able to come too. It was so much fun and I got a lot of really cute stuff! We had the most AMAZING oreo treats that Becky made and played some fun games. My favorite was when we all got a baby bottle filled with water and the first one to finish it won a prize. It was hilarious watching grown women drink from a bottle... and was a lot tougher than I thought it would be!! We could only get an ounce down before we decided it was too hard and taking too long! Ha ha. I have such wonderful friends here in Oregon and we are so blessed to have met them all.
On sunday Aunt Joyce returned to Utah, and a sweet sister from our ward picked me up for church and invited me over for dinner afterwards. The meal was delicious and the company even better. I ended up spending most of the evening there, (on the couch, while they served me drinks and dessert, they're so great) :) It was nice to be around people and not have to spend the whole weekend alone.
Monday morning, bright and early, Chase flew home to Portland. I was so glad to have my husband back, even though he had to go into school the rest of the day. But as for Sammy... he got to stay in bozeman and spend the week with Gramma Nae, grandpa and all his cousins and aunts & uncles. He had such a blast playing... at Aunt Jen's house with Emma, Haley and Noah, and even had a sleepover with cousin Jackson! He dyed easter eggs with Aunt Chessa and Choltz, and made snowmen of Gramma, Sammy and baby Natalie with Uncle Chet. (so cute).
He probably didn't ask about mommy once, but boy, I sure missed him! Chase and I enjoyed the "freedom" as much as we could. We tried to take advantage, but with me being on bedrest, we were some what limited. We watched a lot of episodes of "Lost", went to the grocery store (I used the motorized cart) and even went on a short date, out to dinner at Olive Garden, yum!
Dwayne and Janae drove Sammy up from Bozeman last night and are staying the weekend! It is soo fun having family here, we LOVE it! We could hardly wait for them to pull in to see our little boy and it was the most tender moment I have ever had with him. Janae carried him in saying, "Where's Mom and Daddy," and as soon as he saw us he buried his head in her chest and started crying! I grabbed him for a big hug and he held onto me so tight and just sobbed! It was the cutest thing I've ever seen, and so not what I expected from Sam. Chase stole him and got his loves in too, but then I had to steal him back. He probably laid in my lap for atleast 20 minutes before he even said a word. It was a moment I will remember always.
It's sure good to have both my boys back.
