Zoie and Eliza in awe at our "science experiment." Pour milk into a dish. Add drops of food coloring. Dip a toothpick in dish soap and then put it into one of the colors. Watch the magical swirls of color! They giggled and giggled. So fun to have 3-year-olds!

Sitting out on our porch on a towel (in freezing weather) having a picnic with the ducks!

Building the tallest lego tower I've ever seen (with our friend, Fan). It was awesome.

Alex brought home a special treat the other night. Fresh mangoes. YUM. We ate them the way he did on his mission... with our hands. Kinda messy, but so worth it!

Making stone soup for dinner last week!

Lewis sitting (or should I say sprawled out!) next to his friend, Claire. She was born the day after he was. Obviously, he is slightly bigger than her. He is wearing 6-9 month clothing at 3 months old!

3 little sweeties (make that 4 with the baby doll).

Alex snarfing a homemade cinnamon roll last weekend. There is a reason I rarely make these. I think I ate 5 large cinnamon rolls in one day. Seriously out of control.

Lewis at 2 months

Little Lewis is growing, growing so very fast. At 2 months old, he is already wearing mostly size 6 month clothing! This is so different from the twins at this age. It feels strange to have such a chunky, big baby at 2 months. He smiles a lot, seems to love being around people, and is already cooing quite a bit.

He is so sweet. We just love this little guy.

Here are his 2 month stats:

weight: 12 lb 13 oz (75-90%)
height: 24 1/4 inches (75-90%)
head circumference: 16 (50-75%)

New Shoes

I noticed about a month ago that the cowgirl boots that the girls had worn all winter were getting holes in the heels. Yikes! Time for some new shoes. So, we set out to go shoe shopping. I wanted to find a good price so I explained to the girls that we needed to "shop around" to find a good pair. Going anywhere with the three little ones in tow can be somewhat of a feat these days. Lots of potty breaks, nursing breaks, diaper changing breaks, etc. So, shopping for new shoes has taken us several weeks. Finally, we found what the girls think are the perfect shoes...

They are light up shoes! The girls couldn't be more thrilled with them. They can't wait to put them on first thing in the morning.

I was less than thrilled about the disney princesses. But, the girls loved them and they were on sale. You're only 3 once. Light up shoes with princesses is a dream come true for these girls. They make me laugh!

They wanted to show me how much faster they can run with their new shoes. Seriously, I think they are running faster!

Little Lewis

Our new little Lewis is growing so fast! I can't believe he is 2 months already. I thought it high time to update our blog and start keeping track of things a bit better (if not just for my own benefit!). He is a very sweet little guy who gets lots of adoration from his big sisters.

The sisters thought Lewis needed comfort from their friends!

He is wearing an adorable sweater that my friend, Melissa Shogren, made. I thought he wouldn't fit into it for many months, but it's already getting small!

Indian Cashew Chicken and Naan

We LOVE Indian food.  I've tried out a lot of recipes I've found online, but none can quite imitate what we experience at some of our favorite restaurants.  But, I found a recipe the other day that we really liked.  We don't eat a ton of meat, and I actually think this recipe would be just as good using tofu or paneer (Indian cheese), but I did use chicken for it.  It was really flavorful and fairly healthy.  I made whole wheat naan to go with it that was scrumptious.  Here are links to both recipes:

Spring!

We went for a walk the other day because the sun was out... a rare thing around these parts.  Right as we walked out our front door Eliza gasped, ran to a patch of sun and exclaimed, "Spring, Mom!  It's Spring!"  From that point until our walk was over, I couldn't catch up with the girls.  They ran the whole time, energized by the sunshine and slightly warmer weather (only slightly).  They delight me.

No Crib For a Bed

After we got home from Costco today, Eliza and Zoie decided to pretend to be Mary (they learned about her this past Christmas).  They used the large packages of toilet paper and paper towels we just bought as their cribs.  Actually, Eliza said to me in a very serious tone, "Mom, this is the baby's no crib for a bed."  She loves the song Away in a Manger.  It's funny how somber she was about the whole thing (just look at her face in the pictures).

Yes, Zoie is wearing her swim suit.  It's a daily thing now.
