Christmas is almost here.

Woke up to cold temps this morning and when Gynness and I went out for her morning walk, we found frost on the fallen leaves.

Still can't believe that we are near the end of December and 2015.  Once October hit the rest of the year has rapidly come to a close.  Still, a few pieces were found and more booth refreshes were made.  

It was a figurine find this weekend with three, early Precious Moments figurines.  These "America's answer to Hummel's" continue to be sought after by collectors.

Hummels were also found and these are 1940s figurines.

Another "booth plump" and I added a carved St. Nick to the mix.

Sold the last three rhinestone necklaces so I added three more.  

This pretty, EAPG covered butter dish was a thrift store find.  

 2016 will be rolling in shortly so grab a glitter hat and don't forget the champagne bucket. 

Moved my four silver plated candelabras around and two sold immediately.  Sometimes a simple rearrangement makes items look new and fresh.

Lots of pretty pieces that are the perfect gift are in my Victorian space.

It's a blue, blue, blue Christmas with these pretty aqua blue pieces.

An antique carnival glass punchbowl will be a show stopper at  your New Years Eve table.

Vintage Village Grand Opening

If you have been following my blog,  the last post was about the new location for one of my favorite haunts for treasure, "Vintage Village."  I posted a sneak peak of the spaces and with their grand opening on Friday this week, I made a visit back to see what those talented dealers have done with their spaces.  

My Vintage Heart always has amazing pieces and her space is straight out of a Country Living spread.

Crazy about this hotel bell call.

Lovely little vignettes tell a different shabby story.

How do you choose what to bring home?  I could take everything if I had the space and the "cash".  

Love the shape of this glass display.  So many decorative possibilities.

Lots of unique elements to find.

Vintage Village has utilized a gallery display so you feel like you are walking through different rooms.  So many ideas for your own home can be found here.

All I can say is "WOW". 

So lovely and it makes me smile.

Be sure to look up when you visit because more delight awaits you above.

Plaid in cotton or flannel is always joyful.

I can smell the cookies being baked and the spiced cider being poured.

Spectacular stained glass window makes a gorgeous room divider.

Vintage Village breathes quietly and has a marvelous, feel good energy about it.   I couldn't leave without a purchase and I found a nifty little evening bag for holiday parties. 

What I like best is that one side has been faded by the sun (top photo) with the original color remaining on the other side.   Can select a side for a mood or if I just want to mess with someones vision. LOL   

VV's first weekend was a huge success and I look forward to seeing what the dealers continue to bring in and how they showcase their spaces.

Vintage Goodness

One of my favorite places for treasure is on the move and I have been watching their facebook business page, Vintage Village with great interest as they announced they were moving to a new location.  Debbie, owner of Vintage Village, has been posting sneak peaks of the new space with a countdown to December 11th for their grand opening.

I really couldn't wait until the 11th so I decided to visit the new location and see for myself the "vintage goodness" that will be housed there.

Like a curious child, I pressed my nose to the glass and looked inside.  Oh how I wanted to go in and really look around.  I snapped this photo and went to look in another window when one of the ladies of the Village saw me and said, "Come on in, I know you are dying to see what's inside."  Whooo hooooo!  I got a first hand look and, the new slogan, "Antique and Vintage Goodness" is the definitive description.

Vintage doors and lovely windows abound.

Lots of chippy white pieces make my heart beat fast.

Dealers are slowly decorating their spaces.

Shutters, mirrors and iron beds, Oh my!

Pretty antique filet crochet piece.

Sweet little accent table and a glorious white frame.

Lovely antique fireplace mantle.  I can't wait to see this finished space packed with beautiful things.

I understand truckloads of goodness are on the way.

Delightful laundry basket and antique quilt is pure charm.  Another hint at what these spaces will be filled with in days to come

.  One of the great joys at Vintage Village are the people within.   I first came to "the Village" in August 2000.  I have made so many wonderful purchases there but it is the friendships that are and continue to be the jewels I treasure most.

As I was checking out, I was handed this gift box.  A gift for me?  It was a thank you from Debbie and her dealers, to me, for "tootin" the Vintage Village horn via my blog and facebook pages.  

 

Inside was this sweet, vintage porcelain boy "tootin a horn".  How appropriate and this will be part of my Christmas decor going forward.  I am touched by this thoughtfulness and vintage goodness.

Holiday Treasure

The busiest time of the year for antique dealers and this year is no exception.  A late Thanksgiving in November and only three weekend of shopping for Christmas in December has had me running amuck trying to get as much in to my spaces at the Queen of Hearts.  Lots of unique items found at local Holiday Open Houses this year.

 

First time I ever came across a pair of turn of the century medical stirrups.  If you are a "Knick" fan, then these are the perfect gift.

 

These 1900s canvas high top shoes were dyed red and have taken on a lovely, faded color.  I'm sure Mrs. Claus would be wearing these as she danced with Nick.

 

Clothesline reel or kite reel, either way, this vintage piece even looks sweet with garland around it.

 

I adhered vintage santa's to vintage Florentine plaques, added mica glitter.  

 

A local thrift store find, gorgeous Lenox Sedar Plate.

Whiteware is so pretty on a holiday table.

Not a creature was stirring, not even a "mica dusted" mouse.

Beleek, Lenox, and Wedgwood make lovely gifts.

 

Very wearable, Elf Slippers. Be your own, elf on a shelf.

 

Antique bells ring in your guests.

Pair of Sterling, weighted candlestick holders.

Mid century, mercury glass ornaments are always pretty decorative elements.

 

My Victorian booth is packed with goodness.

 

A visited my sister in Florida over Thanksgiving and found this marvelous pair of  Roseville bookends.  Pink Zepher Lily on the famous matt green bookend base.  These will be in my display case at the Buford Queen of Hearts.

It was a great trip and I so enjoyed spending time with baby sis.  We always have the best time and so busy laughing until it hurts.  I hope everyone had a gentle Thanksgiving as well.  Blessings to you and those you love.  Sea Witch
