10 Months

(Have you noticed I post a lot of pictures of the kid...well lets be honest all grandma and grandpa Donovan living in Virginia want to see is pictures of the kid)

At 10 months all Rhett wants to do is climb, spit, get tickled  eat Kit-Kat bars, climb, eat your cell phone, jump, laugh (he has come up with his own fake laugh), did I mention he likes to climb, and he loves to hear his own voice. He really wants to walk, he tries to stand up then let go of what ever he is holding on to to try to balance but it only works for half a second. So any day now he will be running everywhere.

I wish we could get a better picture of this. He suck his lips in and looks like a fish

I think I will always remember Rhett as the child with a never ending supply of spit just waiting to be launched at your face or the floor.

Christmas

Christmas this year included:

Image- A Charlie Brown tree for our apartment and I tried to make Spencer's mother's gingerbread, let's just say the gingerbread did not work out very well.

The hole in the gingerbread is the balcony I decided

 - Rhett carrying on my tradition of always getting sick for Christmas. But on the plus side this meant we were able to drug him and he slept all through the night at Grandma and Grandpa's which never happens.

-We went out to Wanship to see my grandparents and have lunch with them. Sadly Grandma was not wearing her wig.

-My father forgot to put the guard on his electric razor and when my mother looked in the sink she noticed a lot more hair was there than usual, which meant he had shaved off all of his hair. (I wish we could have recorded his laughing at himself while he shaved the rest of his hair off) He then announced he was morphing into a butterfly.

-Neighborhood Christmas breakfast, the food was great and of course Santa came.

-Lunch at Grandma and Grandpa Donovan's. Grandpa showed us his woodworking skills, and Grandma gave Rhett the most amazing stocking known to man! Rhett worked on his football/kissing skills by trying to kiss his cousin and slamming her to the floor at the same time.

-Racker family Christmas party which meant great food, Santa Clause, and the best white elephant present ever (yes, that's right one cousin brought an "adult" game as the gift, she claims it was just opened but never played...).

This was my favorite picture taken over the break because I love how Rhett just looks so innocent stealing the frosting from the cupcake, poor little kid wouldn't eat the rest of his chocolate dessert after Rhett mutilated it.

-On Sunday (aka, according to Tyler my nephew, "Christmas Adam" because Adam came before Eve...) we got to hear Grandma Donovan sing in her choir, and hear my father sing in their church choir. Then seeing my brother and his family.

-Christmas Eve created a great memory for Spencer and especially for my dad. Spencer won a game of chess against my dad, in any competition with my dad the plan is never to do your best or beat your previous score it is only to beat my dad. We then did our normal Christmas Eve things.

-On Christmas day Rhett woke up at 5 in the morning, I fed him some milk then put him in bed with us where he went right to sleep. At 7:30 Rhett decided it was time to see what Santa had brought so he woke me up by trying to shove me off the bed and then he rolled over and gave lots and lots of kisses on Spencer's face. Then we went into Grandma and Grandpa's room and he rubbed his grandpa's fresh shaved head but of course Grandpa wouldn't get out of bed so Rhett did the next best thing he jammed his fingers in Grandpa's nose and eye! We then opened presents, ate candy, and had breakfast at my brothers house. A minuscule portion of my brothers 499 pound pumpkin was cooked to make some pancakes.

9 Months

So the big man turned 9 months last week. Even though he learned to crawl only 2 weeks ago he really wants to walk! But since he is so mobile he is a little out of control and always pulls himself up on everything and then starts jumping. Rhett loves to play peek a boo in the bathroom, get himself in the kitchen and suck on the garbage can, climb all over his daddy and eat his nose, splash in the bath, eat chocolate, jump on his bed, eat books but never look at them, if something has a wheel he will find it and play with it, and he loves watching us try to juggle his toy balls.

The Past Week

Turkey Week was pretty great this year. We crashed at the "Pace Hotel" all week, had lots and lots of food at my brothers house, met some awesome people at Black Thursday, got to see my sister Laura and her family who we don't get to see very much, decorated 3 large Christmas trees, ate our fill of popsicles for the year, watched lots of football and basketball something we don't get to do at our home, saw the lights on Temple Square, Rhett learned to really crawl and he had so much fun eating his grandparents feet and spitting all over the wood floor, and my father and mother finally got me back after years of me scaring them when they come home my mom pretended (twice) that Rhett had gotten into something so I came to see what was happening and that's when my father scared me (twice) and I screamed very loud! So couldn't have been better :)
