Version 3.0 of New Horizons has been released a day earlier than the scheduled date of January 15, with the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition standalone game and upgrade pack being released as scheduled.

Nintendo has announced that from January 8 to 12, players will be able to unlock an Animal Crossing: New Horizons theme in Tetris 99 during the 51st Maximus Cup event.

Nintendo has announced that Animal Crossing: New Horizons will be receiving a paid Nintendo Switch 2 Edition with enhancements and new content, alongside a free 3.0 update, both releasing January 15, 2026.
