Brody's First Soccer Game

Image

Saturday we went to Brody's first soccer game.  There is nothing better than watching tiny kids play sports.  He was the youngest kid on the field so he was pretty intimidated by all the chaos.  He stood off to the side most of the time.  We'd yell Brody kick the ball and he'd shake his head in a very emphatic NO.  It was still so fun to watch him run around and during practice he kicked the ball right into the goal.  I asked Brody why he didn't like to kick the ball with all the kids and he said "Because there are small people that could take me and kick me."  Here is a look back at Ethan's short lived soccer career.

I *heart* U

Image

This is a picture of my great grandparents on my Dad's side.  George and Cora Kelly.  Theirs was a love story that none other could compare with.  Not even Romeo and Juliet loved eachother as much as these two.  When Grandpa died- Grandma wouldn't live with out him and died the very next day.  There is a poem on their headstone that reads:

"He called her and she came.
The force of love drew her past the veil.
He would not go alone, nor she.
And only hours of our patterned time
posed themselves between the two.
And what is this to eternity?
They have not yet been apart,
Nor will they now.  The two
with love shining in the faces
of those they touched.
Will never be alone."

This is a picture of their daughter Betty and her husband George-my grandparents.  They too demonstrated an undying love for one another.  My Grandpa has passed away but my Grandma tells me that he comes to see her almost every night and lays next to her in her bed.   Even in death he can not bare to be away from her.

Both of these stories set the example for me in my own marriage.  They taught me to love fiercely.  To be patient.  To look for the good.  To cherish each other.  That marriage is an unbreakable promise.  That love can be forever.

The 14th marked my 14th Wedding Anniversary.  I know without a doubt that my marriage to Jeff will rival the greatest of them all.  I've never loved anyone the way I love him.  My life started the day I met him.  He is the best man I have ever met.  He comes from a family with some pretty great love stories of their own.  One of my favorite quotes says that "You don't marry someone you can live with.  You marry someone you can't live without."  That's Jeff.

Happy Birthday Brody

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Brody who turned 3 on the 13th.  I can't believe this little guy is already 3.  I should say Big Boy- because as he reminds me he is no longer a baby.  He is so darling and I love that I get to watch him grow up.  On Tuesday I took him to Target and let him pick out his own present.  When I asked him what he wanted he immediately said SPIDER MAN.  He loves Batman so much that I was surprised.  He told me that Spider man holds out his wrist and lets the webs fly.  Then he proceeded to show me with his own wrist.  The Spider man doll says several different phrases- Body's favorite must have been "You call yourself a criminal" because he said it the entire time we were in the store.  He sure is a cutie and we love him so much!  Here are three things I love about him:

1. He calls every other kid we meet his friend.  He'll say "When are we going to go see my friend again?"
2. He always says thank you and please without me prompting him.
3. Whenever I say "I love you Brody", He'll look at me and say "No I love you more".

I need to get a new picture of him-I stole this off my brothers FB.  He loves his Batman costume and has a cute little bat voice he does with it.

Guest Blogger Gracie Shaw

Hey bloggers this is Ashsy Pashy I'm writing about our trip to.................. drum roll please, Logan!!!! We did tons of fun things in Logan. We got to stay at a hotel, go swimming, and go on a cool hike. On our way to Logan we stopped to see the Bear River Bird Refuge in Brigham City. It was pretty cool. We saw lots of different types of birds like pelicans and these other birds that have kinda high stick legs. I don't know what they were called, but it was fun.  After the bird place we stopped at a park to eat lunch and played a quick game of baseball.  Then we drove by the new Brigham City Temple.  It is so beautiful.   When we finally got to the hotel we unpacked, and got straight in our bathing suits to go swimming. We had lots of fun swimming also there was this boy who was there, and I think he liked me and Whitney. I think this because whenever we were jumping in to swim he did too, he probably was trying to impress us. But it was really fun my dad would throw us up into the water, and he also went under water and we stood on his back and surfed :). After we went to go eat at Wendy's it was good:). Then we got home and went swimming again that was also fun. The next morning we woke up packed all our things together and went to go see the Logan Temple.  It doesn't have an angel Moroni on top and it's made of brick and so different from the other temples.  After that we went to see where my mom lived when she went to Utah State University.  Then we went on a hike up Logan Canyon. The hike was fun. About halfway through it me, my dad, and Ethan climbed a big rock and it was awesome! On the way down I started singing The Star Spangled Banner, and Power Of The Dream by Celion Dion. Everybody in the canyon probably heard me but I didn't care we all had a lot of fun!!!! After the hike we headed back home. That little trip was really fun, and I never will forget it:)!

That's Ashy Pashy        PEACE- I'M OUT:)

July 24th

We spent July 24th- AKA Pioneer Day in Albion Basin.  We hiked to Cecret Lake.  It was gorgeous that day and a little bit chilly!  It was crowded too.  We rode the shuttle up but on the way back down we decided to hike back to the car instead of wait the hour or more it would have taken to ride the shuttle again.  This very very nice family from Ireland stopped to give us a ride- Bryan and Claire and their three kids.  They live in Utah now.  What a FUN day!
