Walk to Remember

For the last nine years we have been participating in the Walk for Remembrance and Hope in honor of our little nephew Ryan who passed away in 2004.  It has always been so hard to think about all of those sweet children that were taken from this Earth so soon.  This year was different for me.  It was still so mournful watching hundreds of tiny balloons float toward heaven, the air very heavy with grief.  But this year was also full of hope.  My sister in law is finally pregnant for the second time- a boy again- a boy due in February the same month Ryan passed away in, so I feel like we have come full circle.  I felt this amazing connection to heaven.  I know that Ryan sent his brother to come and that it had to be right here and right now at this time.  I felt them both there so strong.  It filled my heart with so much happiness.  I can't wait to meet him and to one day meet Ryan. Ryan's life was the miracle that we needed and now God's given us a new one.  These Third Day song lyrics always make me think of Ryan and of our Savior Jesus Christ who's love heals all...You can listen HERE

When you're down and you're falling fast
And you feel like your hope won't last
You know that I'll be your miracle
When you find that your faith is gone
You're not sure if you can carry on
You know that I'll be your miracle
You've been through more than anyone should
Can you find the good in such a bad situation?
You never thought this could happen to you
Now you know the truth, you feel like your life is fading
Well, I hope you can remember
When you're down and you're falling fast
And you feel like your hope won't last
You know that I'll be your miracle
And when you find that your faith is gone
You're not sure if you can carry on
You know that I'll be your miracle
The life you had is going to change
But please don't be afraid
Well, it might be for the better
When you're down and you're falling fast
And you feel like your hope won't last
You know that I'll be your miracle
And when you find that your faith is gone
You're not sure if you can carry on
You know that I'll be your miracle
Well, I'll be the one that's standing next to you
I'll be the one that's gonna help you make it through
When everybody else has gone
I'll be the one that's holding you, oh, whoa
When you're down and you're falling fast
And you feel like your hope won't last
You know that I'll be your miracle
When you find that your faith is gone
You're not sure if you can carry on
You know that I'll be your miracle
I'll be your miracle

Soccer

Ashtyn is loving playing soccer this Fall.  She started out a little timid- but she's really gotten into it the last few games.  We have one more to go this season.

Space Derby

This month's Pack Meeting for Cub Scouts was a Space Derby.  Jeff and Ethan and I worked on his rocket together.  This was way easier to make than the Pine Wood Derby cars.    It turned out cute and he actually won first place in a couple of the races.  Ethan loves Scouts!

Hike 9/30

This week we hiked Mill D North in Big Cottonwood.  We took the trail to Dog Lake(not the same Dog Lake included in the Brighton Lakes).  This is a wonderful Fall hike.  Wow gorgeous colors.  This might be my favorite so far.

Circus

Several weeks ago the kids were bored and asked "What can we do?" to which I replied "Why don't you put on a neighborhood circus?"  So....they....DID!

Image
We live on the best street in the world!  The kids made invitations and gave out tickets and the neighbors came.
Image
They made popcorn and cookies for the crowd.

They practiced every day for two weeks.  Ashtyn was the ringleader.
