2024- Week 43 (Oct 21- Oct 27)

This week was DUP. We had a good meeting. I have been picking up a new member named Regina Hauert. She is in her 90's and lives at the Beehive Home.

I went to dinner with Joidee and Kim to catch up on how Joidee is doing with her cancer.

Melinda's kids were on Fall Break so we invited them over for a sleepover. We also invited Kenzie. We made a bucket list and tried to do as many things as we could. We were able to roast marshmallows and tell ghost stories. Bronson was listening to us and told me he wanted a turn and told the cutest story about the Rainbow Friends. He talked about kids going to their play place and how one of the kids fell on the glass and started bleeding a little bit- first it was his arm and then his hand and then his finger. Then the boy got up and had an X for one of his eyes and then the end. I loved that he wanted a turn. We also went to Arctic Circle and got square pumpkins. Bronson made a new friend in the play place- a little girl about his age and they chased each other around and around. The girls and Bronson and I went on a haunted house tour and walked around Daybreak. We of course stopped at Hogwart's on the Island, the home owned by our friend's the Nelson's. We made caramel apples. We dressed up in costumes and made a movie. We made crafts. In the morning we went on a park hopping challenge to see how many parks we could hit before Kellie came to pick up Kenzie.
I think we were able to hit five. It was all so so fun!

2024- Week 42(Oct 14- Oct 20)

Ashtyn met a new boy this week named Westin Allan. They went on their first date to a haunted house and carved pumpkins. I can tell she likes him a little more than the myriad of other boys she has gone out with the last few years. We will see if anything comes of it.

The hills are so beautiful at work now.

Ashtyn has been dreaming of this trip for months and it is finally here! They flew out a few days before the concert that was on Sunday at the Hard Rock Stadium. She went with Baylee, Rylee and Avery Reid. They stayed in Hollywood near Miami Beach at an AirBNB. She texted us some pictures. I can't wait to hear all about it when she gets back.

We got our mail in ballots for the election and voted this week!

2024- Week 41 (Oct 7-Oct 13)

Jeff and I went on Monday night to Encompass Rehabilitation Center to visit our neighbor Julianne Seare. She fell a few weeks ago and broke her right leg and then last week she fell again and broke her left leg. She had mirror image breaks. She has been battling an undiagnosed autoimmune disease since the beginning of the year and they think these breaks are related. Her sweet mom came up from St. George to take care of her through the end of the year. I took her some People magazines.

It was Jenn Bowles birthday this week so I bought a few bouquets of flowers at Harmons and put them into two arrangements. One for Julianne and one for Jenn. It was kind of fun to try my hand at floral design. Patty moved up to Layton for a few months to take care of her grandchildren while her daughter is deployed so I went to visit Jenn myself.

Jeff got to go to the Black Desert Golf Tournament in St. George with Mike Nance and Phil Margetts. They had a blast.

I haven't made caramel apples for a while so it was off to Gigi's to get some caramel.

Jeff and I went to breakfast for our date this week at Sunday's best. So so good!

Sunday was dinner at Scott and Malia's. I hung out with the kids outside. Kenzie is so darn cute and I love talking to her. We went on a walk with some of the adults after this too. We also celebrated her and Phoebe's birthdays. Phoebe is 16! Kenzie is 12!

Scott's neighbors were joking about us all having white cars.

Trenda and I grabbed lunch from Chipotle and took it to Julianne to visit. Her mom thinks she may have CIDP. They are doing more tests. Afterward I took mom to the temple to do sealings. I love when I run into people I know there. We saw Debbie and Tami and Judy and Barbara.

I did some Tracks presentations at work this week. The weather finally turned cold on Thursday. It was so rainy but felt so good to be cooler. It is beautiful at the park right now.

Ashtyn got rear ended this week. That's three accidents so hopefully no more. This one was not her fault. She is leaving next weekend for her much anticipated Taylor Swift concert in Florida.

2024- Week 40 (Sep 30- Oct 6)

Jeff and I bought a used car this week. We only had the rental car for a week so we were frantically looking for another car so we didn't have to keep using my moms. We found a Subaru Outback at Apex Auto in Orem. We took it to get a third party opinion and Burt Brothers in Provo told us it had a few problems so we went back to Mason with this information and he got it fixed. He even drove it up to Riverton to our regular Burt Brother's to have them sign off on it and they did so we bought it. It is a 2011. Ashtyn will drive the grey Honda now and Ethan will drive this until he buys his own car. I am glad we were able to find something in a timely manner. It was stressful trying to do that and worry about Julias funeral so I am glad this is off our plate.

There were a few fun things we found in the car that we get to keep. A 13 Going on 30 CD- This is one of my favorite movies, a beach towel and a bottle of really old hydrocortisone- This one was hidden behind a panel in the car so who knows what the story behind it is. The pill looks like the right thing but it's suspicious for sure. Sharon actually wanted me to give it to her so she could use it- HA HA. I told her heck no!

Julias funeral was this week. Cheri wrote the obituary and was so kind to mention me. There was a viewing on Friday night  and then the funeral on Saturday. I helped with the table displays on Friday. She looked amazing. So beautiful. Ashtyn said she was never more scared for a dead person to sit up and start laughing that it was all a joke ha ha. Julia was a jokester like that. Her niece Debbies son Mark drew a picture of her and was so kind to include making one for me. Cheri asked me to speak at the funeral and to share the testimony I had recorded Julia making last year. I talked about the three things she taught me- laugh a lot, family is everything and Jesus is the Christ. One of her grandsons from each family also spoke- Danielle, Trent and Tyler. It was a good service and then we had a luncheon at Le Jardin. A lot of the Pearson's were able to come and it was nice to catch up with them all.
