Its been a while. . .

Since its been so long since I have posted I am not going to even try to update. I will just start from the fun stuff we have done this year that we actually have pictures of. (I have gotten really bad at taking pictures!)

We went snowboarding a few times. The first time we attempted to teach our kids on our own. Addison did well, but Donovan just wanted to hang onto us the whole time. The next time we went we put them in lessons. They did a little better that way!

ImageDonovan graduated preschool. He learned a lot and had an amazing teacher. We will miss Ms. Janae! He was lucky to be able to have two of his cousins in his class. It was a fun year for them. Nathan, Becky, and Risse ran the Ogden Half and Rachel, Wade, Addison and I ran the 5K. Addison did surprisingly well considering she practically refused to train for it. She and I finished in 37 minutes.

We ran the Dirty Dash and it was a blast. The course was a bit harder than I had expected because it was mostly up hill. The kids did the Piglet Plunge which was 1K. They had to have an adult accompany them. Addison didnt like it very much, but Donovan had a blast. We plan on doing it again next year!

More of August

So I am a little backwards, but whats new? The begining of August we took a trip to Bear Lake. It was a much needed get away that gave our family time to reconnect after the rough last couple of years. We borrowed my mom's truck and trailer and camped for 4 days. We got rained on a lot and we were very thankful we were not tenting!Image
Image One night I was on a walk with Addison and came back to a lot of banging. The three little ones were having a "parade". It was so cute, but so loud!

Image Bloomington Lake. It took us a lot longer than is should have to get there due to a van that had rolled off the road and caused it to close for a while. The weather was cold and the water was cold as usual so no one dropped from the rope. Addison did swing on it though.
Image After the first night some of Nathan's family joined us. Here is the crew.

Image We had a great time. There is just something about Bear Lake that keeps us going. I love it!

More Catching Up

August was a busy month for us. Donovan started soccer. He did pretty good and had a lot of fun with it. We were proud of him and how hard he tried.

Nathan and I celebrated our ten year anniversary on the 26th. Due to all of our mishaps this year we didnt have a lot of money to do something awesome. We ended up going to see Inception on Friday night, and enjoyed the Octoberfest activities on Saturday. We had a great time and it was so nice to actually be able to spend time together. Image This is when I was getting way over confident and almost fell. I was running very fast over the course.
Image I think Nathan and I were the only ones not bothered by being 50 feet off the ground. Seriously, people get scared way too easy. We also did the alpine slide and the zipline. We rode the tram up to the top and hiked a little way to find a good spot to do our yearly toast. The tradition started on our honeymoon and these glasses only come out once a year. I am glad we have kept the tradition going. We have not missed a single year. This year was especially beautiful and special!
Image I look forward to the rest of my life with my soul mate!

On July 28th I graduated from the Weber State University/DATC Nursing Program. It was an awesome night. It felt so great to celebrate such a huge accomplishment with my closest friends and family. Some of the pictures are slightly blurry because the only one with a camera had grandkids climbing all over him!

More Updates

So now its time to update on the fun stuff we did since November!

In April Nathan ran the SLC Half Marathon. It was his first one and the longest he had ran up to this point was 7 miles. He did the half in 2:10:39. I was so proud of him!

Image He ran with his friend Anne and her husband Chad.

In April we also took our annual trip to Vegas with my friends from school. We drove this time and Nathan and I did some exploring of the Red Rocks.
ImageAddison had her Elite Olympics in May. She is doing very well in gymnastics and we are so proud of her!
Image If I posted anything about the month of June it would be all school pictures, cuz thats really all I did! I did my precepting in June. 135 hours of working for free on the surgical unit of Primary Children's Hospital. It was a great experience and I had a fantastic preceptor! I will post about July and August another day!
Enjoy!

Overdue Update

I know it has been forever since I updated my blog, but I have a good excuse! Nursing school, work, and family took every ounce of time and energy I had these past months. I am happy to say that is all over. I really don't have a lot to blog about so don't be too disappointed! Lets get the bad stuff out of the way first so we can forget about it. . .
In November I had surgery to remove a grapefruit sized tumor on my right ovary.

ImageI know, great picture huh! At that time we discovered we would be unable to have any more children. But Nathan and I had already decided that anyway.

We had to do about $800 in repairs on my car. .

Image
Then Nathan had a little accident and totaled his car. We were luckily able to get a really good deal on a car and help his sister out at the same time!Image

Image Our dryer stopped drying and it was literally eating our clothes, so we got a refurbished one. About a week later our washer stopped working. We got lucky on a good deal on a nearly new one. Our fridge started leaking on our floor(and still is). Our hot tub stopped working. Our furnace broke a total of 3 times I think. Good thing it was still under warranty. Our truck broke and has been sitting ever since. And the cherry on top. . . our basement flooded and we had to replace all of the flooring!!! All since November of last year! Fun huh?? I am just happy that I made it through nursing school and my family is still in one piece and we are all physically healthy!
We did manage to have some fun amongst all of the trials. But I will save that for another post since this one is long enough!
