Yara
I think this picture of Yara is so cute. She looks like a Selph baby.....? This was taken after her bath so she was pretty excited to be jumping on the bed naked.

The Monitor....
Ever since Yara was born (22 months ago) we never really needed a monitor to hear her. We have always had a one level apartment. In our new apartment her bedroom is upstairs. The only way we really knew she was awake was when the ceiling started shaking, she loves jumping.
Yesterday I finally went to Walmart to buy a monitor. It has been so fun listening to her. Today I just put her down for a nap and she is just up there laughing. But she is starting to calm down.... Hopefully.... I love the monitor!

Side pony tail...
So last night Justin was giving me ideas for Yara's hair, and the side pony came up.... I think it's totally cute. She has such a big cowlick in the back a distinct part that it's hard to do certain hair styles. She is so good at letting me do her hair. I wonder how long that will last.

Me....
My sister tagged me with this thing where I'm supposed to tell 6 things about me! This is honestly really hard for me, I really haven't thought about just myself for a long time. I'm always thinking about Justin, Yara, the new little edition in my belly, laundry, cleaning the bathroom and the toys etc.... Mom things you know..?
1. I know how to ski, snowboard and telemark ski. I hope after this little girl is born and I can go a few times before the season ends. Justin is planning on taking Yara skiing this winter after her 2nd b-day. I can't wait to watch...
2. I love photography.
3. I like to read.... I'm in charge of a book club up here in Logan. So if you know of any really good books let me know.
4. I drive adults with disabilities home from their work 3 days a week. I really enjoy being around them and trying to figure out what they are thinking about!
5. I hate dirty bathtubs and kitchens. I would rather have my whole house be a disaster than have a dirty kitchen or tub.
6. I've traveled all over the world. And hopefully Justin and I can take our kids all over when we are older and more settled.
Okay I tag lindsey darley, kristy and kemper...

Dedicated to all the mothers out there...
I cannot forget my mother. [S]he is my bridge. When I needed to get across, she steadied herself long enough for me to run across safely. ~Renita Weems
A little girl, asked where her home was, replied, "where mother is." ~Keith L. Brooks
Most of all the other beautiful things in life come by twos and threes, by dozens and hundreds. Plenty of roses, stars, sunsets, rainbows, brothers and sisters, aunts and cousins, comrades and friends - but only one mother in the whole world. ~Kate Douglas
The mother's heart is the child's school-room. ~Henry Ward Beecher
A man's work is from sun to sun, but a mother's work is never done. ~Author Unknown
I remember my mother's prayers and they have always followed me. They have clung to me all my life. ~Abraham Lincoln

Back to the real Life
Our little family is back in Utah. Yara is getting so big I can hardly carry her up the stairs anymore. She is trying to say so many words at a time that it doesn't really come out the right way. It's really cute having a conversation with her because she thinks I can understand every thing she is saying. She still loves putting on her hot pink sunglasses and all her little hats and shoes. She is going to be a very good big sister because she loves helping me with everything. Yara loves throwing garbage in the trash can. And she watches closely because the other day I noticed her putting the old news paper in the recycling bin!!! She is very smart....
As for me I feel like I am getting a big belly really fast. I am starting to notice that I have a hard time bending over to put my socks on already. I am having a girl for those of you that I haven't talked to for a while. My due date is Feb. 1rst, the day before Yara's 2nd birthday!!!!! I hope I don't have her on the same day.
I am working 6 hours a week while Justin stays home with Yara. I work for a company that takes adults with disabilities in for the work day. I drive them home 3 days a week. I have worked for them on and off for the last 3 years. Any ways I always have the most eye opening conversations with the parents of the clients I take home. Today this guy that I take home had a hard morning. He had a seizure that took over his strength for the rest of the day etc... He has epilepsy so it's a common thing for him to have seizures a lot during the week. Anyways his father told me today that his first seizure was when he was almost 2 (Yara's age). It lasted for a WEEK! Now obviously he is not the same little healthy boy he was when he was born. He thinks, talks, and acts like a two year old in a 30 year old body. It really makes you think about what you have and how good you have it.
Another client that really has changed my life is so beautiful. She is dark with blue eyes and a great smile. Her dad told me that she was 6 months old when they got into a car accident. Now she can't talk or say that much. Her dad and mom are so sweet every time I drop her off. They kiss her and hug her and show so much affection when the other parents just don't do all that. Her dad told me that they never thought that would happen to their beautiful little baby. But now they just live every day to the fullest.

Yara
me of course
her blanket
Water (for drinking, and playing in it)
Books
Swings
Yara loves exploring every thing. She is very smart. She has sea animals that she likes to play with in the bath tub. Anyways I have been teaching her what the exact names are for every animal. I told her probably 3 times which one the killer whale was. The next night I asked her where is the whale and she looked around for a second and picked it up and handed it to me. She knows where all of her body parts are. Including her teeth and tongue. She knows how to put sunscreen on... hahha
She loves reading books! I'm so grateful because i love cuddling up with her and reading out loud. When she wakes up in the morning she signs for book and then through out the day she is finding all her books and reading them or wanting me to read to her. When I put her in her car seat she signs book! She loves BOOKS. I hope it stays that way.

Christina
I am a young (24 yrs old) mamma who can't get enough of my wonderful husband and beautiful baby girl. I'm in love with both of them so much it makes my heart want to share it with every one. Justin is perfect for me... we compliment each other so well. I feel so secure with Justin. When he gets home for the day I feel like I get revived. I send pictures of Yara almost every day to family. She is my every thing. I don't know how I survived without her for so long. She goes to sleep early so I cant wait to see her in the morning! Obviously there are some mornings where I just want her to sleep in a little bit longer!!!
I am fortunate again to be pregnant for the second time! I am due January 25 2008. Yesterday was my first doctors visit and I heard my little sweet baby's heart beat! It's so hard to explain how uplifting it is to hear that little fast noise. For weeks you know you are pregnant but you are constantly worrying about if the baby is still really there, growing, alive etc... Then you hear it and you just want to cry uncontrollably.
I have been waking up extremely sleepy every morning. Its so crazy to think that some thing so small inside of you can have such a BIG effect of your body. I try not to think about how sleepy I am until Yara's nap and then I take one myself. Yara is a little toddler who is trying to concur the world in one day so it's been interesting keeping up with her being pregnant.
As for my day I just try to find new things for Yara to learn about. She has been really into the pool lately since we have been out here so we usually go swimming every day or every other day. She is a WATER BABY 100%.

What it's like to be Justin for a day...
Writing about Justin makes my eyes water..... He wakes up every morning without any complains. I know he's physically and mentally tired but when I ask him how he does it he just says, "I just take one day at a time Christina". When Justin and I became good friends freshmen year of high school I knew that he was the most determined person I had and would ever meet. I feel like the most blessed girl out there to have met Justin at such a young age and get to grow old with him.
