The biker dog is many things.  Soldier.  Policeman.  Hardcore Biker.  Skydiver.  Scuba diver. Tattoo collector. Combat vet.  Published author. Former Marine. Proud Sergeant-at-arms of the Leathernecks MC.  Lover of copious food and drink.  Afficionado of alternative everything.  Award-winning actor.  Power lifter.  Firefighter.  Medic.  Bouncer.  Artist.   He grew up in Florida, New Mexico, Arizona, Texas, Ohio, and Great Britain.  He has lived in Kansas, South Carolina, California, Germany, Norway, South Korea, Iraq, Kuwait, and currently resides in New York City.  He is generally housebroken and can be approached safely on the street if addressed in low tones and with large pieces of raw meat offered at arm’s length.

Owen Powell’s writing has been published in three books to date;  “The Sandbox” by Garry Trudeau, “I.E.D.” by David Levinthal, and “You Have to Live Hard To Be Hard” by Dan Laguna.  He also had an article published in “The New York Times” ; “May I Have This Dance?” , is here:  http://www.nytimes.com/2008/05/18/fashion/18love.html.  He has been interviewed by the Washington Post and NPR.  His articles, often written under the nom de plume ‘SGT Roy Batty’, have also appeared on doonesbury.com, military.com, militarytimes.com, the US Naval Institute’s The Gunge website, US Cavalry’s On Point website and numerous blogs.  Dig it.
