Hello and welcome to my Patreon Page thingY!?!? Alright so basically I've been really wanting to spend more time working on my YouTube channels and programming projects! While I mostly do short meme videos on my channels which I'm known best for, I've actually been wanting to make more of the longer technology focused videos like I've rarely done in the past. <iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/cljCvVW-3FM" width="560"></iframe> I've had some ideas such as talking about the LS-120 SuperDisc drives <a href="https://www.youtube.com/user/phreakindee" rel="noreferrer" target="_blank">LGR</a> style, or create a full history video for LibCrypt on the Sony PlayStation. Although these kind of videos take a quite a lot of time to make though, which I currently don't have. Despite what a lot of people assume with all the programming/video editing stuff I've done in the past, I don't work in any I.T. fields at all. My career is just working as a part timer delivering pizzas. But I'd like to change that and work on content I'm passionate about. One of my biggest projects I've ever worked on that you may have seen on my primary channel is the &quot;<a href="https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLSH0M82IE8vyaXTcemfOWaeTT2JNskGJR" rel="noreferrer" target="_blank">Genocide FPS Engine</a>&quot;. The engine (or a game-base if you will) is designed to play like late 90s/early 2000s first person shooters games back where you ran really fast and didn't have to go through some forced linear story. <img src="https://i.imgur.com/AV75avj.png"> This project idea has been ongoing since I was in high-school back in 2013! In 2015 I restarted the project from scratch since the original 2013 code was very clumsy as I was still learning during that time. But I really wasn't happy how it was turning out, and at this point the Blitz3D engine was pretty out of date. So the project was scrapped again as I worked on other projects such as the <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0SIB7t9n_CE" rel="noreferrer" target="_blank">GBA Doom II Modding Tools/De-censor Project</a>. The project unintentionally re-surged in 2017 when I was just messing around with sine-waves in BlitzMax funnily enough. <iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/PoXx_UTAlvo" width="560"></iframe> Looking back, it's amazing how that silly OpenB3D test/meme evolved into this: <iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/tIV9JhZBS4M" width="560"></iframe> I'm extremely happy with what this version of the &quot;Genocide Engine&quot; is capable of compared to anything else I've made in the past! The physics, and everything feel exactly how I wanted! And this time, the code is very clean and is more modular. If possible, I want to get this base engine made into something that could actually turn into playable games, but as you can probably tell it's extremely time consuming. But if all the groundwork gets done, I can release the code as Open Source and attempt making my dream job come true by developing a steam published indie title with this! <img src="https://i.imgur.com/DApPt9h.png"> So far the project currently supports the following: *A special low res Full Motion Video format. *In game console where everything in the game is created from. Loads an Autoexec.txt file on startup where you can load map contents and place entities for a level etc. *FMOD 3D Sound *Low resolution rendering post effects with scanlines *Dynamic Music (Using FMOD Streaming, supports playlists under the same filename) *Weapon Scripts (.WPN files, with a custom instruction set designed to be as customise-able as GZDoom actor scripts) *Full Deltatime support, including support for slow motion effects in game. *Decals *A custom EntityBase, making everything easily manageable and unloadable (and in debug mode, simply delete/undo stuff with Z kinda like GMOD) *Supports a \Mods folder, anything in there with the same filename will get loaded instead. Or alternatively using the -game parameter to specify a directory. *Player stamina, death, health, jumping physics, crouching, DUSK like flipping, view bobbing. And some more plans for it in the future: *NPC mouth lipsyncing *NPC A* Pathfinding *Oblivion / Deus Ex like inventory *Full NPC hit detection (for hands, legs, headshots etc) *GMOD spawn menu (for debugging/creating levels) *Particles *Maybe In game Cutscene Scripts? By supporting me, I can take time off retail work and spend more time working on content I enjoy doing such as making the meme and informational technology videos for the Kippykip/Kippykip 2009 channels, and of course programming!
