<br>I love comics but growing up I never found many, if any, stories starring mixed race or ethnically ambiguous protagonists. Especially when I got into manga in my teens, everything was looking rather...alabaster.  <br>
<br>
Even now as an adult, a lot of minority comics still lack mixed-race protagonists, and even if they do, the stories always feature race as a big deal, when it just hasn't for me. Not in the way it does there. It's a bit weird as a mixed-race person - I personally think how someone identifies or how they look is unimportant - it is the acts that they do that determine their nature. <br>
<br>
So I feel compelled to write the stories I wish I had growing up - of mixed race ladies in leading fantasy positions without race being a big deal/the main point of the story. It's just fantastic smart ladies who happen to have tanned skin being fun magical things, and looking cute while doing so, with various levels of resilience and confidence!<br>
