I'm Mx Darkfloor, the producer and voice of Mantis Radio, Mornings with, and Darkfloor Sound Radio. There's a good chance you're already familiar with my radio shows, and that's why you're here. If not, and you're wondering what Mantis Radio is. Let me explain. Mantis Radio is an episodic music show (+ podcast) that covers a range of electronic and beyond music. Everything played is something I like. Sometimes you'll like it too, sometimes you'll love it. And sometimes, you might not. But that's OK. Because the next track, or the guest mix, might be the best thing you've heard in ages. Mostly Mantis Radio deals with music of a darker nature, in tone, texture, or weight. But, there are pockets of bright, soul warmth in amongst all the heavy beats and bass. Since 2023 I've been broadcasting a weekly morning show that is in many respects the inverse of that - mostly bright soul affirming day friendly sound, with the occasional slab of heavy. Those shows are archived here on Patreon. How your support helps me. I've been broadcasting Mantis Radio since 2007. And in those years the sound has expanded. The demands on prep, research, production, and publishing have likewise increased. All of which is done by me, here in my studio in Liverpool. This is a joy to do, but it takes a lot of time to make and maintain everything. Pledging your support as a patron helps fund the shows and develop them further. As a patron you'll also get exclusive content, and early access. And access to the growing archive of my weekly show Mornings with Darkfloor. Catch me every Thursday broadcasting on Twitch. Archives for which, are published here on Patreon, Fridays. Some facts about Mantis Radio. Beginning in May 2007, Mantis Radio is built on a backbone of techno, electro, ambient, and industrial sound. Propped up with metal, jungle, drum & bass, and a myriad of other sounds connected to genres and emerging scenes. Each episode features exclusive mixes from a range of global to local talent. From scene leaders like Objekt, Perc, and Flore, to the likes of Si Begg, KK Null, Autumns and hundreds more. At the time of writing this, there are 356 official episodes of Mantis Radio, with several specials and other editions in the archives. Nearly all of which is available on the site Darkfloor. Throughout the life of Mantis I’ve strived to highlight great music, artists, producers, and labels. From established acts, to lesser known, new, or unsigned talent. And this is the same remit of any radio show I've ever done. As producer, presenter, or guest. Your support as a patron directly helps me achieve that. Thank you for listening. Muchlove Mx
