Our Story
In 1999 we opened our virtual doors as the first online bookshop in Europe. Now, 25 years later, the store has 13.7 million active customers in the Netherlands and Belgium, a range of 48 million items and 46,500 partners who sell their items via the bol platform (reference date: June 30, 2025).

Sustainability
Reducing the production and use of products is a challenge for all of us. As one of the largest online stores in the Netherlands and Belgium, we take responsibility. We have a leading role – and everything we need to make a difference through our daily actions. That’s why we’re constantly working on a platform that’s smarter, more sustainable, and ready for the future – from packaging and transport to energy use and partnerships. Step by step, we’re building a better future for all of us.

Society
Bol would like to make a positive impact on society. That starts with ourselves: we create an inclusive work environment where everyone gets equal opportunities and ensure good working conditions for everyone who works with us. Diversity and inclusion are second nature to us – also in our campaigns and marketing, where we consciously cast inclusively. But we don’t stop there. We support charities and step in during emergencies and disasters. On top of that, we invest in the future with Bollebozen, our learning program that helps children develop their talents and get equal opportunities. Together, we’re contributing to a society where everyone can take part.

Working at...
Bol, the shop for us all. That is the promise we work on together every day. And by together we really mean together. Of course, everyone from their own expertise and position, but also in teams in which we strengthen or complement each other. That's why we look for talent with different experiences and backgrounds.
