New Baby Boy Card

Good morning crafters. It’s Tuesday, so that only means one thing! It’s new blog post time 🙂

Have you seen the new coins and medallions stamp sets and the new texture dies? They were released on HobbyMaker on 13th November and by now they should have landed through your letterboxes and you’ve started playing with them.

When we receive our new crafting goodies, we all need inspiration don’t we? Well, we’ve got just the thing for you!

Angela is here to walk you through how she made her new baby boy card. Don’t you just love the multi colour stamping? Do you want to know how to create your own card in this design? Keep reading for step by step instructions…

Sentimentally Yours Products Used:
Premium A4 270gsm card – pure white
Premium A4 290gsm lustre card – powder blue
6″ x 6″ card blank – white
Coins and medallions – occasional sentiment coin stamp set
Coins and medallions – vintage paraphernalia stamp set
Floralink texture die
Layered differently – graceful & regency squares die sets
Premium PVA glue
Glitter – diamond dazzle
Pearls – porcelain white

Other Products Used:
Glue gel
Versafine clair ink – artic & sand dune
Foam tape – 1mm & 2mm
Die cutting machine
Repositionable tape

Step by Step Instructions:

  • Cut a 14.5cm square of powder blue lustre card and adhere to the card blank using 1mm foam tape.
  • Cut die number 1 (counting from the outside) from the graceful squares die set from white card and use foam tape to adhere on top of the powder blue lustre card.
  • Add diamond dazzle glitter to the edges of the card blank.
  • Stamp the vintage paraphernalia medallion stamp onto white card by adding versafine clair artic ink to the stamp and then lightly dab on top with the sand dune ink.
  • Stamp the sentiment coin using the same technique as the medallion, stamp one of the small hearts either side of the sentiment and one of the separate sentiments in the centre. Leave to dry.
  • Die cut the floralink texture die from both powder blue lustre card and pure white card. Save some of the waste for paper piecing.
  • Cut the white floralink die cut diagonally in half and adhere one half to the top left of the card and the other to the bottom right. Paper piece using the waste from the powder blue lustre card die cut.
  • Die cut the medallion using die number 3 from the regency squares die set. Add diamond dazzle around the outside edge.
  • Die cut the sentiment coin using die number 9 from the regency squares die set and edge with glitter.
  • Cut die number 8 from powder blue lustre card and add the sentiment coin onto it.
  • Use 2mm foam tape to adhere the medallion to the card base.
  • Use 2mm foam tape to adhere the sentiment coin to the card base.
  • Finish by adding a pearl to each corner of the card and to the centre of the flowers in the texture die.

TOP TIP: for intricate dies, turn the die around and pass through your cutting machine a second time to ensure a clean cut.

First Christmas Card

Hello crafters and welcome to our little crafty corner.

Did you watch Phill’s live last night? We were treated to a preview of the new magazine box kit. We know how you love our box kits as they include so many stamps, dies, papers and loads and loads of inspiration. This box kit also includes a stencil with four different designs – wow! Pop over to the Honeypot Crafts website to check it out and pre-order ahead of the release on Wednesday.

Are you all busy making your Christmas cards or have you made them already? If you’ve still got to make yours then todays inspiration may give you some ideas.

Illona has been busy making her Christmas cards and has used the snowflake frame that Phill released a few weeks ago. Snowflake Frame Card

Hello crafters and welcome to another blog post.

Here are the step by step instructions on how Lozzy made this card, so sit down with a cuppa and enjoy.

Sentimentally Yours Products Used:
Premium A4 270gsm card – premium white
Premium A4 300gsm mirror card – silver
Fancy frame die set – snowflake
8″ x 8″ embossing folder – falling snow
Festive poinsettia 2 die
Berry sprigs
Premium PVA glue
Pearls – silver star
Fine mist water spray bottle

Other Products Used:
Glue gel
Foam tape
7″ x 7″ card blank
Die cutting machine
Paper trimmer
Distress oxide ink – bundled sage

Step by Step Instructions:

  • Cut white card to 16cm x 16cm and adhere to your 7″ x 7″ card blank.
  • Cut white card to 15.5cm x 15.5cm.
  • Die cut all three snowflake frame dies from white card.
  • Add bundled sage distress oxide ink to your craft mat, spray with water and mix. Dip the 15.5cm x 15.5cm white card and the centre shaped piece of the snowflake frame die into the mixed ink until happy with the coverage of ink. Leave to dry.
  • Emboss the white centre shaped piece using the falling snow embossing folder.
  • Adhere the snowflake frame onto its mat using pva glue, then adhere using 3d foam tape to the inked card. Use 3d foam tape to adhere all onto the card blank.
  • Adhere the centre piece onto the card centre using pva glue.
  • Die cut the poinsettias from white card and a larger one from silver mirror card. Adhere together.
  • Die cut a few berry sprigs from silver mirror card.
  • Arrange the poinsettias and berry sprigs on the card front using glue gel.
  • Die cut the sentiment from silver mirror card and its layer from white card. Adhere together using pva glue. Add to the centre of the snowflake frame using glue gel.
  • Finish off by adding silver pearls to the centre of each poinsettias and the centre of the corner snowflakes on the frame.

Let It Snow

Today it’s Helen’s turn to share how she made her card and you’ve got to admit, the snowflake fancy frame is gorgeous isn’t it?

Sentimentally Yours Products Used:
Premium A4 270gsm card – pure white & blue sapphire
Premium A4 300gsm mirror card – silver
Fancy frame die set – snowflake
Charmed snowflakes A6 die set
8″ x 8″ embossing folder – falling snow
Glitter – diamond dust
Premium PVA glue
Pearls – silver star

Other Products Used:
Glue gel
Foam tape
Double sided tape
Stick and stay spray adhesive
7″ x 7″ card blank

Step by Step Instructions:

  • Cut pure white card to 17cm x 17cm and adhere to your card base.
  • Cut sapphire blue card to 16.5cm x 16.5cm and emboss using the falling snow embossing folder. Adhere to the card base using double sided tape.
  • Die cut the fancy frames snowflake die in silver mirror card and another in pure white card. Attach the pure white layer to the silver layer using spray adhesive, then adhere to the card base using foam tape.
  • Die cut two snowflakes from the charmed snowflakes die set and adhere to the larger corner snowflake frame die using glue gel.
  • Die cut the sentiment from pure white card and the shadow from silver mirror card. Use spray adhesive to adhere the two layers together, then add to the card base using glue gel.
  • Add silver star pearls to the four corners and to each snowflake as shown in the picture.
  • Finish by adding diamond dust glitter around the edge of the sapphire blue embossed layer.

Fancy Frame Snowflake Die Set

Hi all and welcome to our blog.

Last night saw the release of a limited edition snowflake fancy frame die set. This is only available to buy from Honeypot Crafts and Julia Watts Crafts so make sure you grab one as once they’re gone, they’re gone! If you missed the live or would like to watch it again, click here to view.

The snowflake fancy frame die set is just beautiful with the main, decorative part cutting out as one piece, but with the added option of the outer and inner dies to enable you to create more layers to sit the decorative piece on. There is also a sentiment die included in the set which comes in two parts, the shadow and the words. It looks so elegant!

On Your Special Day

Today we’re continuing with our inspiration using the new floral finery 2 dies. Angela has made this beautiful card using the floral dies as well as the layered differently dies. Doesn’t the fuchsia card go well with the silver mirror card? If you want to know how it was made, read on…

Sentimentally Yours Products Used:
Premium A4 270gsm card – premium white & fabulous fuchsia
A5 top fold card blank
Premium A4 300gsm mirror card – silver
Layered differently – elegance & ornate rectangle die sets
Floral finery – lacy tips & whimsy foliage die sets
Floral curios sweetheart sentiments
Premium PVA glue
Pearls – fuchsia pink

Other Products Used:
Glue gel
Foam tape
Versafine Clair ink – charming pink
Die cutting machine

Step by Step Instructions:

  • Working from the outside (1) to the inside (11) of the elegance rectangle dies, cut die number 1 from silver mirror card and die number 2 from fabulous fuchsia card and glue together. Adhere to the card blank with 1mm foam tape.
  • Cut die number 3 from silver mirror card and adhere to the card using 2mm foam tape.
  • Cut die number 5 from white card and die number 6 from fabulous fuchsia card and glue these together. Adhere to the card using 2mm foam tape.
  • Cut die number 9 from the ornate rectangle dies from silver mirror card.
  • Cut die number 9 from the elegance rectangle dies from white card and stamp the sentiment. Adhere the two ovals together using pva glue and then to the card using 2mm foam tape.
  • Die cut a selection of flowers in three different sizes in both white card and silver mirror card.
  • Shape and construct the flowers with the mirror card at the bottom and the white card on top. Add pearls to the centre of each flower and leave aside to dry.
  • Die cut a selection of foliage from white card.
  • Arrange and adhere the flowers and foliage to the bottom left and top right of the card using glue gel.
  • Finish by adding a pearl to each inverted corner.

TOP TIP: Use your pva glue sparingly, remember a little goes a long way.
