The best and the brightest

Image "CUTIE"
ImageLast night all the boys received new haircuts - super short. You can't see it but on the top there is a little hole - that is what happens when you move.

ImageThe bus stop - all seven kids get to wait together. From lft - rht Suzie, Jacob, Neon, Miteen, Ashley, Sawa, Aman (I am sure I spelled most of those names wrong) Neon and Aman are both in Jacobs class (they are twins).

Spencer after we had walked back home - see he is HAPPY!!

OK so because I am a mom I get to be the braggy mom who thinks her kids are the best - just today. Jacob had his first day of school today. There went the smartest and cutest kindergartner around. We were so excited for him. We picked his outfit the night before and he was ready when the bus rolled around at 8:40 am. I even slept in till 8 am how lazy am I. We are going to do something to celebrate his first day - of course this is Jacob and he loves eating out. He has yet to pick the place for lunch. Today was also my 1st day back at the gym - I am already tired and it is only 11 am. Spencer did fairly well - he only complained about getting on the bus on the walk back to the house. His protests didn't even get very loud ( a little yell in the end). Hopefully everyday will be this easy.

Dedicated to Jackie - the cheesehead we love

ImageHere they are dressed up in costumes that Jackie sent them in a package. I am thinking they will make excellent Halloween costumes.
Image

Image Jackie's package was filled with goodies. Star Wars toys they loved and a cd with the transformers song on it. I am sure I will be sick of that song within the week.

ImageHere they are displaying the I love DC shirts Jackie bought us in DC. Jacob is wearing mine.

Jackie came to visit us from Green Bay, WI - and we love her. While she was here we went to chocolate world, Lancaster to visit the Amish country, we went to DC, and Virginia. I forgot to mention all the shopping we did :) Spencer is in love with her - every morning you could find him on Jackie's bed talking her head off. Jacob too was smitten as she helped him create the ocean on the poster board on his window.
One funny thing that happened was - as we were travelling somewhere Jackie and I were gabbing and she said "shut - up!" you know in that adult just kidding kind of way. Spencer then says "what does shut up mean".. We tried to explain that is was a not so nice way to say be quiet and that we shouldn't say it. A couple of days after Jackie left Spencer was going to sit down to watch a movie while I went on the computer. Something happened and I must have said something not pleasing to him because very clear and seriously he said "shut up, mom!". Needless to say he was sent to his room right away and we haven't had a problem since. Next summer it is our turn to visit her. WE LOVE YOU JACKIE!!!

The Handy Visitors

The Handy Family was here visiting.. The kids have had so much fun. Upon seeing them leave Spencer said "I don't want them to go - I want to see them everyday". The children are sooo compatible - they just play and play - only showing themselves when they want to eat. (Which can be quite often). We have had the opportunity to have them visit 4 times this summer and we have made the trip to NC once. We did our normal trip to Hershey Park together and Amanda and I went to see Hairspray(good flick). It is always nice when the parents of your kids best friends are fun to be with and good friends. We are blessed to have friends like these.
We can't wait until they come back in October. (FYI Annie is only 7 months older than Spencer - my poor short children)

Jacob at camp

Image Jacob with his camp shirt and his camp bruise (his left leg)
Image Vinny with Jacob and Spencer. Vinny was a youth volunteer with Jacob's group. Spencer wasted not time making friends - he was soon sitting on Vinny's lap with Jacob.

Image Jacob performing his song for all of us.

Jacob got to go to camp the week of july 30 - aug 3. It was wonderful for both of us. They did crafts, made t-shirts, went swimming, went to the creek etc.. At the end there was a performance that was so cute. Jacob also caught a pet a crayfish. When he brought the crayfish home they named him Snapper and they proceeded to give him a new home. The next morning I woke up to "My pet is gone!". Nice - so I freaked out - I was so afraid I would step on it, but we have not seen it since. That is true - we have not seen it since. I am praying that it got outside. (Just a side note - when Jacob brought Snapper home he told me to tell dad not to eat him)

Before and After

Image
Image Two hundred and seventy-one dollars later.. (The actual bill was over
300 but we had some insurance left)

Image

One morning Jacob said he had a bump in his mouth, above his front tooth. The tooth was abscessed and had to be pulled. Here he is before and after. The tooth fairy was VERY generous - two whole dollars. There was a misunderstanding between the tooth fairies. Mama tooth fairy (me) went to bed after daddy - when I looked under Jacob's pillow the little chest was still there, but no money. I proceeded to rob daddy and put a dollar under Jacob's pillow. Little did I know daddy had stuffed a dollar in the little chest - who does that? Anyways, Jacob is some rich little kid.

The 4th of July Parade

Image
Image Super Spencer

Image
Here he is pulling his own little bike. He started in the parade with Khuong pulling him - he soon was way, way, way behind the pack and Khuong made him pull his own ride.

Image
Hillary and Derek organized a parade for the kids.. Our bike decorations were ok at best but the boys had fun. Derek lead the group with drums and Brian brought up the rear with drums also - I think there was a tamborine thrown in there too. Derek didn't think we were loud enough - next year he says we will make more noise.

The ward pinewood derby

Image All three cuties!!
Image Brother Fultz made these awesome trophies - it currently resides in the boys room.

Image Here he is with short hair - isn't he soo cute!!

Image Jacob the semi-competitive. He counted all of our wins - coming to let me know everytime we won.

In june we had a ward pinewood derby which turned out to be a lot of work and a LOT of fun.. The Phui spiderman car came in 4th. What I learned from the experience is I am glad that Jacob has a few more years before he will start racing professionally in scouts.

Catchin up

Well I thought I better start this since big Spencer woke me up by calling me super late. During the conversation I was shocked to know he had not seen a picture of baby Spencer with short hair. tonight I will begin the Phui saga - I will just show a couple of pictures that we have taken in the last few month.
