Jaimes has been playing and singing in Austin’s highly competitive blues scene for over a decade, has toured regionally and internationally, and been featured in a national advertising campaign for Net10 Wireless. Jaimes' tough, soulful vocals front a scorching modern Texas blues band featuring Tony Redman on guitar, “The Italian Tornado” Banzai LA Rocca on harmonica, Paul Lidel on keys and backup vocals and Ian Bailey on drums.

Kate Meehan and her talented band bring the magic of blues to life! With performances at venues including festivals, we create memorable experiences filled with soulful music and vibrant energy. Join us for an evening filled with rhythm and grooves that keep you moving!
Kate was born in Hobart, the daughter of jazz trumpeter and vocalist Clem Meehan. She was raised in a household infused with music, hearing Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald one day, and listening to Carole King and Shirley Bassey the next. It was in this environment that Clem started giving Kate her first singing lessons. Kate’s formal music education commenced at the Sacred Heart College where she received piano lessons as well singing in the choir, and by the time she commenced High School, Kate had added guitar to her arsenal. At sixteen Kate left High School and moved to the mainland where she busked with her guitar around Adelaide for a few years learning the art of performing as a soloist in public. By the time she was twenty Kate had returned to Hobart where she fronted various covers and originals bands, before returning to the mainland, this time Melbourne, for a brief sojourn in front of another covers band. At twenty four Kate found herself back in Tasmania where she was approached by the Fabulous Blues Cats, a Chicago jump-blues styled band. This is where Kate found her groove. Koko Taylor was discovered, and there was no turning back. Kate learnt her craft as a raunchy blues belter in front of this band playing the midnight to four shift every Friday and Saturday night at the Round Midnight nightclub in Salamanca. In 1998 she recorded her first album as the Kate Meehan Blues Band “Let the Good Times Roll, a CD covering her favourite electric Chicago blues songs. This album opened doors back on the mainland on the blues festival circuit. It was also at this time that Kate heeded advice that she would have to write her own material to get anywhere as a blues singer, and over the next four years Kate released two more albums including her own songs as well as originals by her Texan pen friend, Kathy Murray.

HTTPS://www.bluesblastmagazine.com/malaya-blue-bourbon-street-album-review/:
"Just the mere words “Bourbon Street” conjure up different memories for different areas of the world. It would seem that every major city in the world has a Blues club named for the real deal in New Orleans, LA.
Malaya Blue opens Bourbon Street with an ode to the most famous party street in the world. With a slow tempo Blues delivery Blue gives us her interpretation of NOLA with a soft, sultry delivery that would be welcome to the Big Easy and all of its nuances, presence and passion. Fans of Mick Simpson might recognize his songwriting style and lead guitar delivery on this tune (shares writing credits with Andy Littlewood and M. Ashforth) that has a Gary Moore feel to it. There is also a great video of the song on the Mad Ears Productions web site.
On track 2, “Forgiveness”, we are again treated to clean guitar leads by Simpson. Who doesn’t deserve a little forgiveness in their lives? Blue’s voice drips with emotion here while pleading for forgiveness for some past transgression to a man she seems almost afraid to approach with her plea. Another entertaining video of this song is on www.madearsproductions.com .
Things pick up a bit on track 4, “Lost Girl”, with some horns in the background provided by The MEP Collective. With a forceful, somewhat Rock driven, beat Blue provides proof that her voice is comfortable in many Blues settings and can make your toes tap when she wants to.
“Bluesville U.K.” (track 7) is a mid-tempo shuffle that combines Blue’s voice, A. Littlewood’s guitar work, brass, and harmonica by Dave Hunt. The mix makes a statement for Blues in the U.K. while treating the listener to some Dixieland driven brass mixed in with some harmonica that works well here.
Track 9, “Guilty” is a song most of us can relate to. Most of us have been in a relationship where there comes a point where one starts accusing another of transgressions that are either real or imagined. With lyrics like “I say you do – you say you don’t…” one gets the message quickly that things are breaking down. With Mick Simpson providing some clean, capable, chronically good guitar licks this number stands out as one of the best examples of the talents on this recording.
Malaya Blue’s voice is the main engine driving this album and rightfully so. Her voice is sensually sexy with a range that few vocalists can match. When that voice is matched with the songwriting and instrumental excellence here the listener can’t lose. All fourteen songs here are originals with some straight ahead Blues, some Blues-rock with a little Jazz thrown in to complete the mix.
Songwriting credits go to Andy Littlewood and M. Ashforth for all songs except track 1, “Bourbon Street” that was written by Littlewood, Ashforth and Mick Simpson and track 5, “Lady Sings the Blues” which shows A. Littlwood as the sole contributor. Further credits (as listed on CD cover) go to: Malaya Blue – lead vocals and backing vocals, Andy Littlewood – guitars, keyboards, bass, and backing vocals, Mick Simpson – lead guitar on tracks 1, 2, 6, 9, 11, and 13, Giovanni Bruno – guitar on tracks 5 and 10, The MEP Collective – horns and brass, and Dave Hunt – harmonica on track 7".

Bel Airs - HooDoo Party

10. Left Me To Roam - 2:50
11. Take This Hurt Off Me - 3:17
12. House On Fire - 2:31

Fronted by brothers Dick and Dave Pruitt on bass and electric guitars, with Michael Cherry on drums, the Bel Airs play a danceable mix with an authentic but eclectic bluesy-country-soul-and-rock-n-roll sound influenced by the likes of Wilson Picket, Slim Harpo, Howlin’ Wolf and Johnny Cash. The Pruitt brothers’ harmony vocal style sets them apart in the contemporary music scene–leading one reviewer to refer to them as the “Everly Brothers of Blues”. David’s “big guitar” and Dick’s howling vocals over soulful, right-on rhythm playing make this trio a powerhouse. Formed in 1981, the original incarnation of the Bel Airs included the Pruitt brothers, harp player Michael Henderson and drummer Pat O’Connor. In those days, rumor has it that in addition to playing guitar behind his head, little David Pruitt occasionally rode on Henderson’s shoulders at the end of an especially raucous set.
Back in the days of vinyl, the original four members of the band released the Bel Airs’ first recording NEED ME A CAR on Blind Pig Records in 1984. Later, Henderson moved to Nashville and played with the Snakes and toured with Mark Knopfler. In 1991, the Bel Airs released DANGEROUS CURVES, recorded at Lou Whitney’s studio in Springfield, Missouri, as a trio. Later that year, when David moved temporarily to southern California, drummer Pat O’Connor left for Nashville as well, and in 1995, brothers Dick and David recruited Indianapolis native Michael Cherry, a veteran of the Paladins and the James Harman Band, to return to the midwest to take the helm of the rhythm section. The association has proven to be a fruitful one. The current line-up has been together over ten years, and has released two recordings. HOODOO PARTY (1999) was recorded in St. Louis and among the guest musicians featured is late-great pianist Johnnie Johnson, who emerged from Chuck Berry’s shadow during the 1990’s and often joined the Bel Airs on stage at St. Louis’ legendary Off Broadway. Their most recent recording effort is GOT LOVE on Hightone Records. Recorded at The Studio with Lou Whitney in Springfield, GOT LOVE features the intensity of the live shows that loyal fans know and love, with guests Jimmy Carpenter on horn and Joe Terry on hammond organ adding depth and polish in just the right places.
From the funky cover courtesy of Charlie Johnson's "Museum of the Odd" to the closing acoustic track "House On Fire," The Bel Airs' third recording, "Hoo Doo Party," is a solid slice of wild and wonderful American cake. Nothing about the Bel Airs fits neatly into any category, except for their well-deserved reputation for house-rock live shows and solid musicianship. "Hoo Doo Party" delivers the energy and groove fans have come to expect from the Bel Airs.
Living on the road and playing clubs from Austin to Boston, the Bel Airs are carrying on the tradition of American rhythm and blues. Now based in Columbia, Missouri, the Bel Airs are easily one of the hottest and most entertaining blues bands in the country.
Brothers Dick and David Pruitt front the band on bass and electric guitars. Drummer Michael Cherry is well known for his powerful groove. David's big guitar sound and Dick's howling vocals over soulful rhythm playing make this trio a powerhouse. Baim and Gugun Blues Shelter - Let There Be Light

Tracks Listing:
 1. Bank Robber's Blues - 2:38
 2. Tap Dancer - 4:14
 3. He Got Caught - 3:55
 4. It's You - 4:21
 5. Don't Say Goodbye - 4:15
 6. Me, Myself and I - 3:25

Musicians:
Guitar,Vocals – Gugun, Baim, Ibrahim Imran;
Bass – Jono;
Keyboards – Baim;
Drums – Bowie.

The collaboration between Baim and Gugun Blues Shelter stemmed from their frequent appearances together. While this album doesn't have a particularly distinctive flavor, it's noteworthy for showcasing two musicians with distinct musical styles. Gugun Blues Shelter (GBS), as is known, often plays a strong rock-blues sound. The trio (Gugun, Jono, and Bowie) brought the band international fame with their masterful playing. Meanwhile, Baim, who has previously performed in the groups ADA Band and The Dance Company, has a pop style.
Undeniably, the six songs on this album—"Bank Robber's Blues," "Tap Dancer," "He Got Caught," "It's You," "Don't Say Goodbye," and "Me, Myself, And I"—are strongly reminiscent of GBS's style.
Just listen to the first song, "Bank Robber's Blues," which features a rock 'n' roll rhythm. While it may sound ordinary, playing only standard blues compositions, guitarist Gugun's playing style is undeniably unmatched.
In "Tap Dancer," GBS delivers a powerful guitar intro that lends the song a strong and enjoyable sound. Gugun's guitar solo, with its steady speed shifts, makes this song incredibly bluesy. For blues enthusiasts, this song is sure to be easy and enjoyable to play. However, be warned: while easy to follow, Gugun's guitar solo will undoubtedly be different from yours. Gugun, heavily inspired by legendary guitarist Jimmy Hendrix, is able to create distinct nuances with each piece.
GBS' music is known for its simple and predictable style. What sets GBS apart from other bands is its ability to harmonize its playing, making it enjoyable to listen to. While it's unavoidable, some songs sometimes share notes from legendary blues groups that serve as musical references.
GBS's simple playing can be seen in the song "He Got Caugh." Gugun and Jono's simple composition is quite pleasant to listen to. The rock-blues style is predictable, yet still enjoyable. Gugun's flat vocals are made more powerful by the simple music. Similar compositions are found in the slow "It's You" and the bluesy "Me, Myself, And I."
Meanwhile, in Baim's "Don't Say Goodbye," GBS seems to avoid overdoing it. Baim's sweet arrangement is supported by GBS's signature style in the final verses, where Gugun imbues it with his distinctive guitar playing.
For blues fans, especially fans of GBS and Baim, this song is definitely worth a listen. Bravo, GBS and Baim.

We are a rocking blues band which will have you on your feet, audiences thoughly entertained wherever we go. Jason started playing guitar in 1985 and formed his first full blues band in 2000, around popular covers and whilst writing original tunes on an 8 track recorder. Sam was on the other side of Lincoln, learning the bass and forming a rock covers band, Local Heroes. In 2007 Local Heroes needed a singer to dep for their singer, who was on holiday and doing alot of karaoke jobs. Jase stepped in and met Sam for the first time. Sam introduced Jase to the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Jase introduced Sam to Chicken Shack. In 2010 the couple went to Las Vegas to get married. On their return, they started to rehearse a bunch of old original songs from Jase's days with the 8 track. Their debut album was born at Tabby Road Studios in October and November of that year, with Mark Barrett ably adding the drums. Since then, the line up has expanded to a five piece with Stevie 'Keys' Gooding on organ and piano and the unbelievable Dave Taylor on Saxophone.

David Eckford was born in Mississippi in 1940, but St. Louis was the city he called home from childhood after his mother moved there with her family from Mississippi. The family worked as sharecroppers on a plantation and wanted a better life. "One day, my mother begged the boss for $200 to buy the kids Christmas presents," Dee said. "Instead, she used the money to buy bus tickets to St. Louis, where she had relatives." Dee worked in clubs, including nightclubs in East St. Louis. Dee later played bass for Howlin' Wolf and Albert King, and worked with Jimmy Reed; he performed and recorded for record label owner Oliver Sain, who gave Dee a track. The collaboration, titled "Goin' Fishin'," transcended its local fame, selling not only nationally but also gaining acclaim from blues fans worldwide after receiving rave reviews from Bill Dhal in Living Blues Magazine. David Dee released six albums and a dozen singles (from 1968 to 1989) throughout his musical career.

The blues can also lift you ‘Way Up!’ Shakedown Tim brings down home blues and uptown boogie reminiscent of the 1940s and '50s. Top singer-guitar player in an outfit that rocks.
Anyone who's ever attended a blues or roots party will know Tim Ielegems, "Shakedown"—we saw him perform three times this year. Whether it was with his Rhythm Revue, as a guest at Steven Troch's birthday concert, or as Roland van Campenhout's right-hand man at Sortie Blues, it was always crystal clear that his natural habitat is the stage. He perfectly captures that joy of playing and that live feel on "Way Up!": from the very first notes, it feels like the band is actually playing in your living room. This album has all the ingredients for an energetic, steamy performance: a driven frontman (with the inseparable hat and fat body guitar), a balanced mix of original songs and covers (mostly from the early fifties), plenty of variety between slower and more up-tempo numbers, musical guests who regularly appear on stage to stoke the party mood, and last but not least: a tight, well-oiled band featuring Ilias Scotch on piano and organ, Kurt Lens on double bass, and Koen Van Peteghem on drums.
The sparkling "Feed My Body To The Fishes"—a cover of a seventy-year-old song by Delta Blues pianist Willie Love & His Three Aces—kicks things off, immediately followed by the much slower, (captivatingly) compelling blues of the self-penned "Messin' With The Blues." Not only does Ilias Scotch provide vocal support, but harmonica virtuoso Steven Troch also makes his debut appearance, stoking the fire even further.
Over twenty years ago, Troch and Ielegems took the blues world by storm with their band Fried Bourbon, and one of the many friends they made back then was Tiny Legs Tim (De Graeve), the late, late blues jam-sessions leader at Missy Sippy's in Ghent. He receives a fitting tribute on "Way Up!" with "Tiny Legs, Big Soul," a song about "what should have been" that's anything but sad, but rather a stirring, almost mantra-like song in which Shakedown Tim, his Rhythm Revue, Steven Troch, and singer Naomi Sijmons seem to dance a polonaise through the Ghent club "for old times' sake."
With the slow "My Love Is Real" and the swinging "Driftin'," we're back with two more covers. The first, thanks to Shakedown Tim's guitar work and Ilias Scotch's piano playing, surpasses James Reed's original, while the second revives an old Eddie Boyd and His Chessmen song with great enthusiasm and conviction. This fast tempo is maintained on their own composition, "Way Down," featuring not only Steven Troch as a guest but also, for the first time, Little Walter, Tim's dachshund.
In the duet "You're The Boss," written by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller, Shakedown Tim and Naomi Sijmons convincingly embody the flirtatious couple from the lyrics, immediately raising the temperature. This version—featuring familiar face Bart Stone on sax—most closely resembles the original rendition by LaVern Baker & Jimmy Ricks and is in no way inferior to what Elvis Presley (with Ann-Margret), B.B. King (with Ruth Brown), or The Brian Setzer Orchestra (with Gwen Stefani) later created. The boogie-woogie blues of Real Crazy (an Amos Milburn cover), featuring a superb Ielegems on guitar, is also truly memorable. Frolic Time truly lifts our spirits, as Little Walter is called back onto the stage to dance a Charleston with his owner. It seems like a trivial matter, but the song is so naturally irresistible and well-crafted that it's impossible to shoo it back into its cage.
And then, it's as if a door suddenly blows open, and we're momentarily sucked into another dimension with A Sinner's Gospel...
There, we're welcomed by the spirit of blues harpist James Harman, producer of (and musician on) the previous Shakedown Tim And The Rhythm Revue album. This fragment of oppressive music (Ielegems on slide guitar and with a sepulchral voice, Harman with a devilish growl in the background) was recorded during a joint tour in 2018. They drew inspiration from a quote from mutual friend and former Blasters, Red Devils, and Canned Heat pianist Gene Taylor: "I hope God gives me what I need, and definitely not what I deserve!" Tim Ielegems dedicates the song to Harman and Taylor, who both passed away in 2021.
The final word goes to Close The Door, an instrumental with touches of jazz and blues, which further emphasizes the craftsmanship and clever interplay between the five musicians (Bart Stone also participates).

By any standard, Breezy Rodio’s blues odyssey has encompassed quite a few  more miles than that of most upandcoming musicians now riding the  competitive Chicago circuit. In 2007 Rodio joined the band of guitarist Linsey Alexander, known as “The Hoochie Man” to his many devoted fans. Breezy soon advanced to a bandleading role with Alexander’s outfit, the guitarist working on his 2010 CD If You Ain’t Got It as well as Linsey’s two acclaimed  Delmark albums, 2012’s Been There Done That and his most recent release in  2014, Come Back Baby. But Rodio found time to do his own thing too, cutting his 2011 debut album Playing My Game Too with a stellar supporting cast that included guest  guitarists Lurrie Bell, Rockin’ Johnny, and Dave Herrero and bassist Bob Stroger along with Alexander and  Guy King. In 2015 Breezy releases his second album, So Close to It. The album obtained very favorable reviews from all corners of the map. It reached the number two spot nationwide in the Chicago Blues category on the Roots Music Report, the number one independent music chart in the world. On So Close To It, Breezy reaffirms his crisp, clean mastery of electric blues  guitar, displaying a keen sense of tradition and proving himself a convincing  vocalist as well. He’s invited another cadre of Chicago’s top blues luminaries to join him, led by harpist extraordinaire Billy Branch, searing guitarist Bell, and  two-fisted pianist Ariyo. Hammond B3 master Chris Foreman is on board too,  along with jazz mainstays Art Davis and Bill Overton on trumpet and saxophone  respectively. He toured Japan three times, playing clubs and festivals, then embarked on several tours of South America, two tours of Europe, plus jaunts to Canada and Mexico.
