Supermodels...kind of.

A teeny bit of humor on this bitterly brutal winter day.  I hope these SUPER MODELS, sporting the lastest winter wear, make you smile.

First we have the ever slender, sleek and freezing racing models

Next up are the Fairy/Yoda models. Always precious. Always...over the whole situation.Image

Image

Image

How could we ever forget the model who is always up for a good game of frisbee or herding the sheep?  Always ready for a good time!
Image

Of course, we must mention the cheerleader.  Pom-Poms are a girl's best friend.
Image

And the model that exudes sweetness... like a hershey's kiss.
Image

One mustn't overlook the big, lovable, Teddy Bear models.  Always ready to listen and love on their human...and anyone else that needs a good hug.
Image

Image

And finally, the model that always wins the award for the best "Cute But Don't Mess With Me" face.

If you made it this far, friends, thank you for putting up with my silliness.  Hope to see you again soon.

Shalom.

Books, brushes and a bracelet

Hello Friends!  I'm glad you stopped by.

I think winter is finally coming to Oklahoma.  We've been so blessed with sunny, pleasant days but, right on time, it is supposed to get brutally cold with a ton of snow.  Now y'all all know I ain't no dadburn snowbunny!  LoL. The weather that is said to be coming is my nemesis, so to speak.  I hate everything about snow, ice and cold.  Sure it's pretty until the dogs go out and pee, trample all over the yard and then come in wet.  Oh and don't get me started on the ugly once it starts to melt and then refreezes...melts and refreezes.  Anyhow, I am very thankful to Adonai for a warm home, food, and an over abundance of hot tea!  I will, however, be glad when this system goes along it's merry little way.

Anticipating the weather, I went shopping on Amazon!  Why are you laughing?  Isn't that what you do?   Anyhow, I thought I would share the "necessities" that I got.  I will put the links for all the items down below in case you need to do your own "winter necessary" shopping.

Image
I heard about this book from one of the Youtubers I watch.  When she described it, I knew I had to read it.  It has 387 pages so it isn't going to be one I fly through like normal, which is ok because I want to chew on it and really take it in.  Theo of Golden is a National Bestseller and when I tried to check it out at the library there were almost 200 holds pending(the reason I bought my own copy).

I also got another book that I want to savor through the seasons of the year.  I will probably read it all the way through to begin with but then I will take each seasonal section and really sink in, throughout the year.

Image
The Country Commonplace Book is a beautiful book filled with poetry, quotes, a few recipes and other delightful things.  If you don't know what a commonplace book is here is a definition from Mrs. Blackwell's Village BookshopClick below for more info.

I can't wait to wrap up in a cozy blanket with a cup of hot tea and enjoy this one.  It's that kind of book...cozy.

I've been needing to replace my makeup brushes so I did. Those are necessities, right? I mean, when your makeup brushes start shedding all over your face, it's time.

Image
I've never used this brand but they were raved about by another Youtuber and they were affordable.  We'll see.  If they last half as long as my old ones I'll be happy.  They are at least ten years old if not more.  Most are still in excellent shape, really, just one eyeshadow brush and the blush brush.

Image
Now this truly was a necessity...well...anything for my grandbabies quickly become necessities.  Anyhow, my grandson will turn ten years old in about three weeks!  I just can't believe it but it's true.  Makes me sad but I'm definitely glad he is!  He almost wasn't born at all because of pregnancy complications...But GOD!  I hope he likes it.  I also bought a t-shirt for him but it has to be returned because it is too small.  I forgot how big he is getting and ordered the wrong size.

So sorry!  I know this ended up being a lot but that's how I roll!  I don't post for weeks and then I can't stop writing when I do!

I am so grateful that you came and hung out for awhile and I hope to see you again soon.  Remember the links are below if you saw something you liked.

Yep...back to normal.

Hello friend!  I told you I would be back to my old posting habits!  I've been busy though.  I am in the process of decluttering more.  I started last year and it was a slow process because I would do one closet and then not do anything else for a few weeks.  Anyhow...it will get done eventually...maybe.

So, back during Blogmas, I showed you some of the things I found at the thrift store and said I would be back to post what I actually bought.  This is that post.

Image
I picked up this picture.  The picture, itself, really isn't my style but I love the rustic frame.

Image
The corners have these metal pieces that I call reinforcers.  They may simply be for looks but they also hole the frame together nice and tight.

Image
The picture is sweet but it wouldn't go with anything in my home.  If you like it, and want it, I would be happy to mail it to you.  Let me know.  Oh and yeah...Grandma's are just antique little girls...and I'm getting more antiques by the second!  Aren't we all!?

Image
I grabbed these two spools of Christmas ribbon.  Certainly not for the ribbon that is on them because that stuff is flat out ugly!  I liked the vintage spools and used them in a Christmas vignette.  I may use them somewhere else but I will wind some prettier ribbon on them if I do.

Image
These book just jumped off the shelf and into my basket so I had to bring them home!  They may have had some help jumping but I'll never admit it!  I've seen the movie, "Under The Tuscan Sun" but I don't think I've ever read the book.  Should be a nice way to spend a cold, dreary day...if our weather ever changes.  I'm still not complaining about the wonderful weather we've had!  It's been wonderful and certainly has kept my S.A.D. at bay, for the most part.  Anyhow, I wanted, so badly, to read the Little Women Christmas Dreams book but if I'm honest, I just wasn't in the mood to read.  Too much drama surrounding our kids and trying to figure out if they were coming or not and if I even cared if they did.  Long story that needs to be thrown in the shredder!  BOOKS!  That's what I was talking about!  I absolutely love the Gooseberry Patch books!  I will snatch one up in a heartbeat.  I don't know that I actually use the recipes much but they are so pretty and I have found a recipe or two that have become favorties.

Image
Remember that big rack of vinyl records I posted about?  These are the ones I got.  I bought myself a small, portable record player for Christmas and didn't have a single record so when I found that rack, and the price was only $1.00 each, you better believer I dug through every one of them.  I didn't find too many that I liked but these will do until I find the ones I want.

Image
If you are of a certain age, you might remember the boxed album sets that Reader's Digest "presented".  That was how they introduced things back in those days..."Reader's Digest presents, this thing or that thing".  There was a large box of these sets hidden under a shelf by the books.  I naturally dug through it.  I found this set and of course had to get it since I love folk music...well, vintage folk music...not this new crap.  I loved the cover, too!  Can't you just hear that young man seranading his sweetheart!  Oh, those were the days, were they not?

Image
Now this record, here, I have no idea what the music is because I didn't and still haven't looked to see.  I just fell in love with the cover.  If I don't like the music then I might use the picture for a craft project.  Who knows, it may end up being my favorite.  We'll see.

Image
Last but not least, and perhaps my favorite thing I bought that day, is this little resin mushroom.  The cap is a bit sparkly and the little darling was all alone on a shelf and I felt bad for her so she also jumped into my basket...with help.  I have a little cubby shelf she will look cute in.

Well, that is my pre-holiday thrift finds.  I have been thrifting since then and will show that trip and purchases soon.

Thank you for stopping by!  I hope to see you again soon!

Shalom,
Pam

January Ideas

Hello friend!  I so glad you stopped by.

I never make resolutions or pick a word of the year.  If you do, that's great but I end up failing miserably with resolutions and never remember what word I picked or maybe a few weeks down the road, the word is irrelevant.  I really never have done the resolution thing. I don't need that kind of negativity!

I do have a notebook where I jot down ideas and projects I would like to do throughout the year but that's mainly for fun!  If it happens, YAY ME! - if not, OK!  LoL. Anyhow, with that being said, I have a few lists for you!  Some journal prompts, bucket list...just fun stuff!  Let me know if you try some of it!

There are a few things on these lists that I am definitely going to be doing...and some I will try to do.  One is to get new glasses or at least go see if I need a new prescription.  I will go for a walk every day even if it is only down to the mailbox at the end of the driveway...and that may very well be as far as I make it but I'm doing it!  For sure I will be feeding the birds and germinating seeds...Oh and buy used instead of new!!!  I don't think it's a secret that I am a big fan of doing that anyways.

As far as the things I will try to do... I want to learn how to eat to nourish my body and not to simply eat for survival.  I have been dealing with some health issues that seem to be a mystery to both my doctor and myself so I am going to work on food intake (which I don't eat much of since I had bariatric surgery 12 years ago) and drinking more water.  I am really going to try practicing a bit more self-care and getting support when I need it (which is hard to do in this era of my life).  Not that I have a hard time reaching out and talking but there just isn't anyone for me to reach out to but I'm going to try.  Writing/sending handwritten letters and cards is on my list as is Blessing others more.

Well, that is the plan anyhow...we'll see how long it lasts because...life, you know!

Love you to pieces!  Hope you will come back soon!

Shalom,
Pam
