Last weekend was the Solstice Parade in Fremont. This is an urban neighborhood that calls itself the center of the universe! One of the highlights is the clothing optional bicycle ride. AS you can see from the photo, most opted to go sans clothing, but the body painting was really clever. After the cyclists, there was a parade of other interests. One that caught my eye was the parisian paper people. Very well done. they are actually going to come to the Gallery opening of the new show next week. It is our annual fundraiser called PULP. It is all things on paper, and is a big auction. Very appropriate that they will be guiding patrons inside.

This past weekend, Bruce and I drove up north to visit the Tulip festival in Skagit county. A little further along the way is a place called Deception pass. This is a photo from the state park. Lots of driftwood. On a warm day, it would be great for picnics and playing on the beach. These are some of the tulips....gorgeous. We went a little later than we should have, and they farmers had already plowed under a lot of the fields. The color was beautiful, and I think I need to plant lots of bulbs for next year!!

This is an international effort. A call went out to contribute leaves made of some type of fiber. There are over 7000 leaves on this tree. I can't see mine, but they are there. I think it looks really wonderful.

These three pieces are going into a show in Philadelphia at the Edge Gallery. They are 8''x8'' mixed media on canvas. I really enjoyed making these.

Very textured paintings done on canvas, 24x24, titled Through the Mist I and II
These are some spring blooms taken on our street this Easter weekend. The cherry trees are all blooming and in a few more weeks it is going to be spectacular! The tulip festival is a little delayed this year because of the long, cold winter. I can't wait to see it though...maybe in two weeks or so.....
