The Fireplace and Windows:Image We decided on a wood burning fireplace in case of no electricity and full arch windows in the front of the house. Lorin helped Jorden put in some windows.

SHEETROCK!!! WAAHOO!
Now that the sheetrock is in it's really staring to look more like a home. Jorden stands next to an arch doorway to our closet. The picture on the left is the kitchen and the 3 arch windows are looking out from the garage.
Foam Insulation, Electric, Plumbing, Sound System, Air Conditioning Ect.\
A company from Phoenix came and sprayed in our insulation which will save us lots and lots of money on utilities. Jeremy Nash, J.T., and Jorden worked on the electric. Uncle Ron did most of the air conditioning. Tillman Kartchner did the plumbing. JT set up the wires and speakers for music all around the house including the back porch (i love music) I'd have to say this part of building the house seemed to take the longest. Thanks everyone who helped us!

Image The trusses on and well...the board stuff is on top and around, don't know what it's called... Here is a view showing the back of the house to the left is the master suite, then the kitchen and living room, then the guest bedroom on the far right. Pretty huh. The picture on bottom is the front of the house..the porch is not build yet.

Image Rolling Trusses: The girls and I had fun watching the huge crane pick up trusses and bring them up on top of our house. It was pretty cool to see. Jorden held on to a rope attached to a truss to help guide it into the right position. Look how my house starts to take shape and demension...YEAH!!!

Framing: Jorden's favorite part of building a home is framing. The picture I'm doing thumbs up is my bedroom windows. The others are pictures of the kitchen and baby window where the kitchen table goes. See those rectangles way up high..those are windows. Jorden surprised me with those...I love windows.

Pouring the Foundation: Here are some shots of Jorden, Sam, and their dad, Don, pouring my front, sunk-in living room...pretty cool huh? You can see where the bay window goes.

Hello everyone! You may want to scroll down the page to see our home building update in order ( starting with cement) or you can look at it backwards...Hope you have a great day!
ps Celiese doesn't have a matching shirt yet so that's why she's not in this picture.

The Floor Trusses and Floor System...I don't know why, but I didn't take pictures of all the floor trusses...they looked pretty cool too. After the trusses, they put on a floor and that is what you see here. Also, a picture looking down into the basement. Last Wednesday we poured the footers which support the house. On this coming Tuesday we will pour most of the foundation...Yippee!
The Basement Walls... Eterna Building Systems or Rastra is what we used for our basement walls. It is made out of stirofoam and cement and are bigger than block. It is more expensive but only took Jorden and JT Lines a couple of days to put up all the walls! The ceiling in the basement is 8ft 9in or 7 rastra courses high. Maren, our math genius, helped measure the corners and I got to put this cool expanding foam in the spaces between the rastra, it's bright orange. Just a side note...I really don't need to help work on the house...I just do it cause it's fun and then I feel like I'm helping. :)

Pouring of the Cement....
It was fun to watch the cement be poured for our home. Maren helped "smooth" it out and had a blast playing in it! Celiese was our supervisor above the pour, watching contently on the edge.

Jorden and his brother Sam dug out the basement and his dad helped level. Here is a picture of Jorden showing off on the skidster...he insisted I take the picture with the shovel up in the air. I had a great time watching him ramp, pick up dirt, and even make the skidster prop on the two back wheels! Maren had fun climbing in and out of the hole. My parents came to see also. We are all pretty darn excited!
