PR SOAR is pleased to offer the Virtual LNT Level 1 Instructor Course as part of our commitment to responsible outdoor recreation. This course will allow each participant to learn the skills and techniques that minimize our individual but cumulative impacts on the outdoors. Additionally, this course will have a specific focus on the “why” behind each Leave No Trace Principle, as well as the science that informs the recommendations and guidelines. Lastly, this course will explore the concept of outdoor ethics in depth and will guide participants in how such ethics can be shared with others in an effective and meaningful way.
This course is designed for anyone who enjoys spending time outdoors and is especially well-suited for those who wish to teach others about LNT. This course involves 16 hours of instruction, involving approximately twelve (12) hours of synchronous
Instruction (all course participants together via the Zoom online platform) and a minimum of four (4) hours of asynchronous instruction (self-directed learning offline).
This course is exceptionally well-suited for both domestic (US) and international participants! It eliminates the travel costs associated with in-person Level 1 Instructor Courses and can be taken anywhere there is a reliable internet connection.
This LNT Virtual Level 1 Instructor Course is not a 100% self-paced course. There are specific assignments with deadlines that must be completed on time to complete the course. Furthermore, full attendance and participation in all synchronous portions of the course is required for course completion.
PR SOAR is pleased to offer the Leave No Trace (LNT) Outdoor Skills Course as part of our commitment to responsible outdoor recreation. Participants in the two-day course will learn Leave No Trace skills and ethics and have opportunities to practice these low-impact techniques during the course. Graduates of the Leave No Trace Skills Course are prepared to share and practice basic Leave No Trace principles with others and low-impact techniques in future activities. Additionally, you’ll learn about excellent backpacking trips with broad applicability that will help you prepare for long-distance, multi-day hikes and beyond.
This course is designed for everyone. From those looking to learn basic environmentally conscious backpacking techniques to outdoor guides seeking further training, virtually anyone can benefit from this course. Spend a weekend with others who want to help leave nature in better condition and apply the information and practices learned in this course to your own context, whether hiking, kayaking, horseback riding, climbing, or any other activity that can negatively impact nature.
This course will be taught by two experienced instructors and includes two days of instruction in Leave No Trace techniques, with an overnight camping trip in the backcountry! In addition to learning, we ensure that all participants always feel comfortable and happy. Participants are responsible for bringing their own food, tents, clothing, and sleeping bags. This course will result in a Leave No Trace certificate.
