Land Use Change at Point Reyes National Seashore

In a major shift for the Point Reyes community, 12 of 14 dairy and beef ranches in Point Reyes National Seashore have reached agreements with the Nature Conservancy to cease operations within 15 months. NPS will negotiate long-term leases with the two remaining beef operations in the Park. PRNSA will collaborate with NPS and The Nature Conservancy to support grassland restoration and stewardship efforts on the land moving forward. This transition offers significant conservation opportunities, and it also impacts ranch workers, their families, and other residents. For more information, please visit the NPS website.

Donate here to support the workers and families impacted by the ranch closures.
