Broadway Camp

Maddie did a Broadway camp downtown. They put on their performance yesterday, it was so well done. These girls learned a lot of moves and songs in a very short time. This was the Older girls doing Chicago.
She and her little sister Abbey had a lot of fun.Image

Thanksgiving Point Horse Camp

Image Ryder was really looking forward to "Cowboy camp". He wore his cowboy hat, luckily I talked him out of his holster and guns. Maddie wanted to know what other kids were wearing.... ok, so there were a few girls wearing their cowboy boots..
He had a great time. They learned about horses, groomed a horse, played horse shoes, rode a pony. I stuck around for over an hour (camp is only 3 hours- ind of defeated the purpose huh?) to get some cute pics of him. He was still upset that I didn't get a picture of him on the pony. I took off on a bike ride that ended up lasting 1 hour and 20 minutes (I got kind of trapped on the Provo-Jordan pkwy) and couldn't find a straight shot back to Thanksgiving point. That was my longest bike ride ever at 20 miles. I realized I can do it, so that is a good thing.

Cherry Hill

This was a really fun trip. On a whim, we called up there to see what night they had
a spot at the camp ground and away we went. Packed up quickly, just for one night.
Got up there did the slides that evening, BBQed, watched movies, went to bed and hit it again the next morning.
It was a full day of splashing around. Had to hurry back that evening because Maddie had a birthday party to go to.
We would definately do that trip again. It would be fun with a big group of family or friends.Image

Fun at Utah Lake

Image

We have been doing a lot that involves water. This was a day trip down to Utah Lake. Cam came with us. If Ryder had his way Cam would come everywhere with us. Infact, yesterday Jenny and I took the kids to classic skating and Ryder says,"Wouldn't it be fun if Cam just lived with us?!" I said yup it would be but I think his family would really miss him. So Ryder says,"Then maybe we could just be neighbors, so I could play with him everyday."
It would be fun if all the cousins were neighbors. Wouldn't that be fun? We need Will and Layton down here to aid in the quest to educate all about Star Wars.

First Church talks

Maddie had her first sacrament "youth" talk the very same day Ryder had his first primary talk.
Both of them spoke about Eternal Families. You can imagine Maddie's was a little longer than Ryders.
:) They both went well and both of them survived and did great jobs. Image

Maddie will hate this picture but she got her braces off yesterday! Look at that smile, definately worth the money. I can't believe she is in middle school. Her class officially moved into the middle school building a couple of weeks ago and she has - A LOCKER! Image

Ryder's preschool pic

Look how old he looks! He is in the 3 year old class in preschool , another year of preschool before he moves on to kindergarden. Where did my baby go? He still thinks I should carry him. At 47 lbs. that is pretty tough to do.Image

Ryder doing stretchs

Not really sure what was going on here.. Ryder kept hoping off the bike and doing this.
We aren't sure if he was doing a trick or if he was stretching. He was trying out a lot
of tricks on his motorcycle. He is almost too big for this motorcycle and his four
wheeler, but I am not sure if mom is ready for him to move up..
The tricks were scaring mom. What is Scott creating..? Image

Easter at the Sand Dunes

Trip to the Sand Dunes....
Image
We left for the Sand Dunes on Wed. to avoid the crowds.. they still found us. We had a great little place all to ourselves. That might be Scott and Ryder's favorite thing to do. Go out in the RV. It was sunny and warmer than at home.
We hid some eggs there and Ryder had fun finding them and then turning around and hiding them from us.

The New Room

Image
The new room is finally done. It isn't completely, obviously from the pics we need curtains, new furniture and speakers so we can get the old ones off the floor. But hey good enough for us to sit in there and enjoy and enjoy we do. We love the fireplace. Maddie packs all her homework in by the hearth. Ryder loves to snuggle and watch movies.

Ryder was tagged by Morgan

Sorry life has been crazy so I am a little tardy on this and then Brittany tags us again.

Ryder

Loves:
Costumes of superheroes- ninja turtles, Peter Pan, Superman, Spider Man, Power Rangers
Playing with his cousin Cameron
Eating candy (not real good for his diabetes)
Watching his "shows"
going to gymnastics at Gym Cats
Going to the gym, when he has "it in his plan for the day"
Chasing his big sister around with sticks and swords
To Pummel
Hiding in the new cabinets
"Snuggling"
Giving mom the pinchies, which is using my hand like a blankie to rub the soft skin between the index and thumb, I know a little odd but cute too
Riding his four wheeler
Going on trips in the Rv
Going to our playgroup and playing with his neighborhood pals
Loves show and tell on thursdays at school. Got told he couldn't show his "weapon" he had brought one time, mom wasn't watching him pack the bag evidently

Doesn't like:
Going to bed
Getting his pump changed, says 3 days comes too fast
having to wait to eat food
Doesn't like to miss out on the fun
Talking to strangers, Ryder is shy and whenever people try to talk to him he hides behind moms leg

Personality Test!

Image

Take this test!

You're a bold, confident orange. A warm, powerful color that indicates a strong, welcoming personality, orange is the mark of people who are social and extroverted by nature. Vibrant, with an upbeat attitude, you have a bright, inviting demeanor. Energetic and fun-loving, you're a real friend-magnet. Your easy charm and unassuming manner make you the sort of person people want to meet and get to know better. Well-rounded and fun to be around, you enjoy helping others, so it's no surprise that orange also symbolizes attraction. Orange is an extraordinary color — for an extraordinary person.

Still under construction

ImageHow are we still living in this? :) I ask myself this daily. This is the room that was going to be done a week before Christmas. Excuse me, what day did you say it was. (I have no idea how I got this to underline and so I don't know how to turn it off) So then last I heard my cabinets were to be delivered last Friday, Jan 9th. I am still awaiting the delivery of those bad boys. That is the last big thing holding this up. Carpet is scheduled to be layed Saturday but as you can see with no cabinets even in the house that isn't going to happen. Hmmm....
We still have wrought iron fencing for outside to be put up, stucco to be fixed, new railings to be put in on the inside. Carpet in on the main floor.
Scott keeps teasing me when I tell him the date the contractor tells me whatever will be done. Scott says yeah it will be wrapped up by mid March. At this point I am starting to believe him.
At least our contractor, Brad is very nice and it is hard to get upset with him. (Maybe that is why we are still living in this...) Just a thought .. :)

Ryder turns 4!

Image
Ryder turned 4 on Jan. 2nd. Grandma Bethany gave Ryder this cute suit for his bday. He wore it to church that Sunday. At church his teachers gave him scriptures and he has proudly carried them around, pretending to be able to read. The cutest is when he is reading them and says, "I love you Jesus. I believe in you." The first time I saw him doing this and asked him what he was doing he said (like dah mom) "I am reading my scriptures."
