Hi! My name is Safiyah Dawuni and I create under the name purebysafi. Born and raised in between Ghana and Los Angeles, my design practice is shaped by nature, music, and storytelling. Growing up in a diverse and creative family, art became my way of understanding the world and communicating with it. My visual language is rooted in the natural world, ornamentation, using rhythmic patterns, linework, symbolism, and movement to reimagine how we think, feel, and see the world around us. I work across a variety of mediums and am always excited to expand my practice.
