All participants must have been enrolled in a 2 or 4 year higher education institution within the past 12 months. For us to send the prize to you, you must provide an address within the United States, though don't need to be a US citizen. You must be 18+ as well to participate. There is one exception: any current student of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, regardless of age, may participate.

Participants may work in teams (suggested 4 or fewer per team) or alone to submit a single project. A team with more than 4 participants is still eligible to win a prize, but in that case only 4 prizes will be given out.

Excluding the use of public APIs, SDKs etc, all code for the project must be written between Saturday December 5 at 11 AM EST and Sunday December 6 at 1 PM EST.

Concepts may originate prior to Saturday December 5 at 11 AM EST, but not code. Participants that submit more than one project, use code they wrote before Saturday December 5 at 11 AM EST, use plagiarized code or submit projects to more than one hackathon will be disqualified.

Within your submission, the following must be included:

• A link to a GitHub repository that contains all code written for the project. We will check your code for cheating.
• A video between 1 and 5 minutes that demos the project. This is how your project will be judged. Videos over 5 minutes will be accepted, however, judges may not watch past the 5 minute mark
• The emails of all teammates that were used to register for queer_hack at our official website (so not this Devpost). These will be checked against our registration database to make sure that all submissions are made by people actually registered for queer_hack.
