I'd suggest taking a look at NotesTab Pro in the MAS and the iTunes store for the iOS version.

Quick Note is a very nice Stickies replacement, but i.m.o. it should auto-quit when the notepad window is closed.

Looks fantastic! ................. Sadly, it's identical to the simple notes feature built right into Mac Mail. Also, the notes in Mail sync very easily with iPod Touch, iPhone, and iPad.
