Christmas Morning!
The kiddos all got bikes this year...we hid them in the TV room so they wouldn't be the first thing they saw Christmas morning. After the gifts were opened and the wrapping paper started to settle, Steve used our code phrase "I'll be right back I need to use the restroom." yes, very original, and somewhat confusing...do you "really" need to use it? hahaha Then Steve would holler, "You guys gotta come and see this." leading them to the TV room. It worked out pretty darn well. EVERYONE was so excited. Noah has wanted a new bike and has been saving for one, so when he saw HIS NEW bike, he started crying, which of course tugs at the heart strings and my tears began to flow a bit. It was so sweet. Ava hasn't quite learned to ride a bike and we weren't quite sure if we should get her one, since Steve got a "tag along" which hooks to his bike so she can stay with us when we go on our rides. We got a little strider bike for her from my sis, which Ava was NOT thrilled about. It was red. Hahaha well maybe we should have gotten her a real bike, oh well.

with our one of a kind "tumble weed Christmas tree"
in the back ground.
When Steve's parents came to visit, there was a HUGE tumble weed that blew right in the middle of our front yard. It sat there for days and then one evening the kids told me to come look outside. As I peered out the window I could see that Grandma Tootsie and Reed had decorated "our tumble weed" with glow sticks. I was laughing so hard! So from that inspired décor, Steve thought it would be hilarious to build our very our tumble weed tree and decorate it with lights and even a star at the top. So we did! Many neighbors and drive byers laughed and marveled at what a magnificent lawn ornament we had. Making memories!
