While Curren works for the Oklahoma chapter of Generation Citizen, she is adamant about their work in civics showing results on a more universal scale. She expressed her desire for Oklahoma to be a hub for conferences where teachers can come for social studies professional development. Curren urges adults and students to expect more out of their local schools’ civics education in hopes that it will improve on a larger-than-local scale.
