Precious Moments
Tanner thinks he doesn't need a nap, and most the time if I am home with him and he is being good I don't make him take a nap. At daycare they still have quiet time, and he tells me mom, but I don't want to take a nap today. I tell him that is ok you just have to lay down and be quiet and he always says, but if I do then I will fall asleep. If they only knew how good it was to take a nap. I do take advantage of the time when he is napping especially if both he and Brylee are napping at the same time, if I am lucky. I was letting him watch a movie for his quiet time last week and when I walked in the living room this is what I saw. I couldn't resist taking a picture.

The Man of the Day-Eliot

What a special day it was a few weeks ago and I know I am late at getting this posted, but I just downloaded the pictures and thought I would post these as it was a day that was unknown if it would come with the struggles this little guy has gone through.
Eliot was born at 1 lb 11 oz and they Foit family thought that was tough until three years ago he was diagnosed with Lukemia. His three year treatments ended in January. On March 17th he turned 8 and on March 29, 2008 he was baptized by his Dad. Even though Brylee kept me standing or out most of the time it was such a special day to be apart of. Eliot came out of the water and said "Wow, that was fun!" The three boys sang "I am a child of God" and that was my favorite part. I love music and the strong spirit I feel from good music. I love when I hear children sing, so it was so touching to see the three cute guys sing, they did great!!!
What a good example that Eliot and Tanners other cousins that have been baptized in the past are for him and Brylee!! I am so thankful for our families and the close relationships I have with them. I don't know what I would do without family!!

STRESS MANAGEMENT
I got this email and it gave me relief as I think my life is stressful, it really isn't. I am thankful for my trials as I look at what I deal with and think it is nothing compared to what others are dealing with. It is amazing the trials others go through how they can strenghten others. I have a friend and a cousin going through cancer treatment, I have a friend who had a twin sister die leaving eight children and three that will be watched over by the 26 year old daughter, I have family with children that have disabilities, and I could go on. Wow, my life looks easy now. I don't think I used to stress out, I don't know if it is marriage, kids, work, moving, or what; probably a combination of them all. And we got the call last night, we knew it was coming, you guessed it, the bishop asking us to speak in church. Too bad we don't have caller id we could have dodged the call. Just Kidding it will be a good chance for others in the ward to know who we are. I love good uplifting quotes that help me put my life into perspective, so I thought I would post this email I got from my uncle.
STRESS MANAGEMENT
A lecturer, when explaining stress management to an audience, raised a
glass of water and asked, "how heavy is this glass of water?"
Answers called out ranged from 20g to 500g.
The lecturer replied, "The absolute weight doesn't matter. It depends on
how long you try to hold it. If I hold it for a minute, that's not a
problem. If I hold it for an hour, I'll have an ache in my right arm. If
I hold it for a day, you'll have to call an ambulance. In each case,
it's the same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes."
He continued, "And that's the way it is with stress management. If we
carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later, as the burden becomes
increasingly heavy, we won't be able to carry on. As with the glass of
water, you have to put it down for a while and rest before holding it
again. When we're refreshed, we can carry on with the burden. So,
before you return home tonight, put the burden of work down. Don't carry
it home. You can pick it up tomorrow. Whatever burdens you're carrying
now, let them down for a moment if you can. Relax; pick them up later
after you've rested. Life is short. Enjoy it!
And then he shared some ways of dealing with the burdens of life:
* Accept that some days you're the pigeon, and some days you're the
statue.
* Some days you're the bug and some days you're the windshield.
* Always keep your words soft and sweet, just in case you have to eat
them.
* Always read stuff that will make you look good if you die in the
middle of it.
* Drive carefully. It's not only cars that can be recalled by their
Maker.
*If you can't be kind, at least have the decency to be vague.
* If you lend someone $1000 and never see that person again, it was
probably worth it.
* It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a
warning to others.
* Never buy a car you can't push.
* Never put both feet in your mouth at the same time, because then you
won't have a leg to stand on.
* Nobody cares if you can't dance well. Just get up and dance.
* Since it's the early worm that gets eaten by the bird, sleep late.
* The second mouse gets the cheese.
* When everything's coming your way, you're in the wrong lane.
* Birthdays are good for you. The more you have, the longer you live.
* You may be only one person in the world, but you may also be the world to one person.
* Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.
* We could learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull, Some have weird names , and all are different colors, but
they all have to live in the same box.
* A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour.
