See Ya in 2 weeks

Goodbye for two weeks!!!  I can't believe we will be gone for two weeks, but it will fly by!!!
I had to take some pictures of the kids on my phone so I could look at them when I was missing them.  Since we didn't have any milk I made the kids heart pancakes and bacon for breakfast. I did a little video of them and asked them why they love Mommy & Daddy.  Brylee said "I love Mommy because she colors with me and gives me food, and I love Daddy because he lets me watch things on the big TV."  She also said she likes Mommy because we go get slushies at Maverick and doing our fingers and toes.  Tanner said "I love Daddy because I like to watch basketball with him, and I love Mommy because I like to cuddle with her."  Tanner also said he likes to get slushies at Maverick with Mommy and going Golfing with Daddy.  I sure love my kiddos and it was sooooo hard to leave them for so long!!!!

First Pinewood Derby

Tanner had his 1st Pinewood Derby race.  Jason, Tanner, and Grandpa worked on the car for many hours for a few days to prepare for the race.  Grandpa had some good ideas, and so did Jason, and Tanner didn't have a whole lot of say, but isn't that how it usually goes?  Tanner was involved and helping along the way though, so it was fun for them to all work together.  He wanted a Bronco's Car, so my job was to find the Bronco Stickers, but not just any, they had to be just perfect, and so after going to a few places they were finally found at Fanz of all places.  Now let me tell you, I think Jason was more disappointed then Tanner at the time of the race, because Tanners car was last.  Yes he took last place, now they didn't score that way, but since he didn't win one race with the 13 cars that were in the race, I imagine his would have been last, but that is OK, it was a great experience and Tanner didn't even realize it and he had a lot of fun!!  He has the best Cub leaders, they are so great and he has so much fun.  They made these cute twinkie cars for refreshment for the boys, and they thought that was pretty cool.  I think that the thoughts are already going through Jason and Grandpa's minds in what they need to do different next year!!  ha ha!!

Hair Cut & Dinner

We had not seen Grandma & Grandpa Ray for almost a month as they were out of town and we were going to be going out of town, so we had them over for dinner before we left town. Brylee was due for a little trim and since I am too cheap to get a hair cut when it is just a trim, I did it for the most part, but Grandma made sure it was all straight, she only had to make a few extra cuts to even it out.  Brylee is such a girly girl and loves her hair to be done and does a good job brushing it out herself and putting headbands in.  She loves her toes and fingers painted and anything girly.  She also likes to play with the boys cars/trucks/etc, but she is defiantly all the way girl!!!

I Love Spring.  I like to wear jackets instead of coats, and I love the nice cool weather to be outside and enjoy the blooming of flowers and the smell of the rain and so forth.  We love the trail that was finished last year, so a few times have been up bike riding/running on the trail.  I hear it goes all the way from 31st street at Hinkley Drive where we start to Layton.  I told the kids one day we would go a lot further, but we only made it almost to 4000 in Roy before we realized Tanners tire was going flat, so it cut our ride short.  Brylee and I took her and Tanners bike to the park on 4800 in Roy and played while the boys went and got the truck to rescue us.   Those darn sticker weeds, Jason is about sick of fixing tires that have gone flat.  It has been fun now that Brylee can ride her bike fast she is going to out ride me soon.  She is quite the little girly girl, but doesn't she look stylin' on her bike with her flower sticking out!!

Easter Outfits

We  were going to be gone for Easter, so I gave the kids the outfits I got them a little early this year.  And of course had to take a few shots in the new outfits.  They are so cute and of course I think they are because they are my kiddos!!! Because I took the pictures so early my tulips are usually up, but not this year it was too early, but they still love sitting on the rock or by the rock pole as always.  We always gotta throw in a funny face one, and they are getting quite good at making up new funny faces.  Love you kids!!!

Kanesville Elementary 1st to 3rd Grade Program

Image

Kanesville Elementary does a play for the 4th to 6th graders and then for the 1st to 3rd graders they do a little program.  This year it was all about being healthy, staying safe, and not bullying.  They did some singing, and some kids were part of some dancing, and skits.  Tanner got to do a part with the 2nd Graders this year.  "Drink Healthy Smoothies"  Yup that was it, and he did great!!!  It was a lot of fun to go to the High School where they performed one night to see the kids so excited to be a part of a program.  They all felt so big and they did a great job.  I really am trying not to be an annoying Mom, but I had to holler out after he did his part "Woo Hoo Tanner!"  Way to go Kanesville students and teachers!!!  We do have an amazing school and I am so grateful that my kids have such a great school to be a part of.

Happy GREEN Day

Image
So what do you do on St. Patties Day?!?!  I need to be a more creative fun mom on holidays.  It was on a Saturday, so it wasn't quite as fun for the kids not getting to go to school and celebrate, but I did make Green Pancakes & Green Milk.  They thought it was pretty cool.  For some reason, I just don't like my food colored, I know it tastes the same, but psychologically to me it is different.  I know I am weird!!!  Happy Green Day!!!  Green is Jason's Favorite Color, so I guess this is his favorite day too!

The new skateboarders

We had a fun time with our friends while their parents were out of town for a few days.  Brylee was a little out  numbered, but it didn't bother her, she had so much fun playing with the boys.  It is funny as well as you know someone you don't really know them until you are around them 24/7.  We watched movies, played, played, and played more even at 6am when they woke up one morning, ugh!!  We were going to go to Classic Fun Ctr, but it was way too crowded for just me to keep an eye on 5 kids, so I bribed them into a free for all.  If you don't know what that is when we grew up we would work all day long in the yard or house for a free for all.  We would go to the store and get anything we wanted for dinner.  (Back then our $ amt that our parents gave us was $1, yup we did it and loved it.  We would always combine our money and get a steak and pk of rolls or something & split it!)  The kids loved it, they all got different stuff from pizza, frozen nugget dinner, & pot pies. I didn't have a problem at all getting the kids to eat all their food!  I also threw in a surprise the kids all got to get something, the oldest boys decided on skateboards, Bry a stuffed animal that had slap bracelets as arms so it hangs on your arm or anything, Ty got a ball & candy, and Austin got a animal ball thing that made noise along with a noise/farting goop. I found out that Ridge is a lot more sensitive then I thought and I know his girlfriends parents, Austin is such a funny kid but clumsy, and Ty is such a tease and just cracks me up!!  It was fun, and I can say I am very grateful that I have my two kids and not five!!! Love you guys!!!

HAPPY 91

Image
MY GRANDMA!!!
I am so honored and blessed to have my Grandma still alive and a part of my life.  It has been so much fun to be able to have her live with my parents.  I am able to see her almost every week.  She turned 91 and even though she says she doesn't know why she is still here, I think it is because we need her!!  My kids have been able to get to know her and have a relationship with her.  Brylee just LOVES Grandma Great!!  She is one of the first to go and give her hugs and kisses and just lay on the bed with her and sit with her.  If Brylee is coming, Grandma always saves some fruit, especially strawberries that is always in a bowl by her bed just because she knows Brylee loves them.  This is a very common sight in Grandma's Room when Brylee is around.  We LOVE you Grandma Great!!!

Tanner played on the same team that they created for comp in the fall as recreation this year. He and Cutler played up to play with the other boys in the neighborhood on the 3rd grade level. They have had a GREAT year and haven't lost a game, we have one more game left. We told Tanner we would give him $1 a point that he makes and maybe that wasn't such a good thing because we ended up owing him a lot more then we thought we would. It was our thoughts to get him to be more aggressive and it sure worked. We tried to change our minds, but he was smart and said no way, you said $1 a point. The city always does team pictures through a company, but I hate spending the money to get them when I can do them for so much cheaper. I did them for our team this year and I think they turned out really cool. I really do enjoy watching Tanner play Basketball he is really good, he got the talent from his Dad for sure. Grandpa Ray was a great supporter of Tanner this season, I think he only missed one game and that was because he was out of town. Until next season!!

FAREWELL HONDA

Image
Image
Jason bought his 1993 Honda Accord in 1994 and he has babied it for almost 20 years. We found a heck of a deal on a truck, so we decided to put both vehicles up for sale so we wouldn't have two gas guzzlers, and his Honda Sold in less then 24 hours. It was a big thing for him to sale the Honda, but he does love his truck. We still haven't sold the Explorer, I we think we will hold off a year then get something in place of the Explorer. The kids LOVE the truck just as much as Jason. They think it is pretty cool and tell everyone, "We have a Truck!" Like they care, but they are excited and it is cute.

Crayon Making Tanner & Emma's Favorite thing to do together.

They set up a shop to sale the crayons.
Too bad it was after dark and no one was around!
They took them to school & sold some, I think they
ended up making about $7. Pretty Good for 8 yr olds.

I know I am a big time cheap wad. It is just sooooo hard getting a babysitter to go out on a date with Jason, so we just DON'T! First because we are going out to spend money, and then we have to pay someone to watch our kids and it cost as much or more then it did for our dinner out. Second, Jason is gone most days and doesn't even get to see the kids all day so hates to leave them at night too. I know I am totally sounding like a cheap skate. We have my niece that watches them and we pay her, and a few girls in the ward that are great as well, but we just don't go out much and I know it is important so we finally found a babysitter swap. Tanner has a cute friend in his class they used to be in our ward until the boundaries changed and they have two girls the same age as our two kids. We had a play date with them in January and then I got talking to Rachel and asked her if once a month they would want to watch our kids and another day we will watch their kids so they can go on a date. We started last month and it was great. Even though we were gone for like 5 hours each the kids were still wanting to play and not leave. So now Jason and I can finally date again. I hope it continues to work out as our kids get a long so well together.
