We took the kids on a family walk before bed. We barely left the house before Kaitlyn feel on her rollerblades and skinned her lip. Poor girl, looks like it hurts!!
It looks a little bit better just the next day
And her picture she sent to Aunt Tiara :)

The kids school had an art show with their art in it so we went to see what they've done this year! The kids loved seeing their art in frames and displayed at the school.

Jayden had a pretty exciting day today! This afternoon he crawled all the way up the stairs into the boys room! Previously he'd only gone up one step. We were freaking out a little at how quickly he's figuring things out when, just before bed he took his first steps!! He did 10 in a row and then refused to walk anymore. Haha, he just wanted mommy to hold him. The kids and I were cheering so loud for him!! It'll be fun to see what he does in the morning!

The kids came home from school today upset. They walk next to the middle school on their way home (the middle school is still in session) and a group of boys threw a rock at Kaitlyn's head. She was fine. It wasn't a huge rock, but it hurt her feelings and was scary. It took a little while to get the whole story out and to understand what happened (children aren't the best with details and explaining situations) I assured the kids that they were not in trouble, but that Dad and I needed to understand what happened. My heart just hurt for their lost innocence. We went on a family walk that night so that they could show us where it occurred and Ryan took some pictures. This wasn't a huge thing by any means, but the kids walk by there every day (its the only way home) so we wanted to make sure that it didn't occur again or escalate. Anyway. We emailed the middle school principle and he let the coach (the class outside was a gym class) know what had happened. I have to say I was very impressed with how well the school handled it. I'm thankful that the coach took it seriously (he was very upset that it happened!) and took steps to ensure that my kids and the other students walking by wouldn't have that happen again.
I'm so proud of my kids for knowing that they could tell me. I hope nothing else ever happens, but with 6 kids its possible something will happen another time. I hope they will remember that Mom and Dad will be there for them and that they can tell us anything. I love my little babies!!
