Is Python 3 that obsolete? What is going on with some libraries?

How long has Python 3 been out? A couple of years? Why haven't some libraries been updated already? This is getting a bit silly... in my very young programming experience, at the least. I really wonder why it is taking so long for these libraries to be updated. I would have loved my Python experience to be smoother... but it has gotten exponentially frustrating :/ I just want to use a library to make GUIs with a simple install that doesn't require me to download Homebrew, MacPorts, Fink and other things. Which I have downloaded, only to get error messages.

I have just started to program, but I have had the hardest of times to figure out how to install PyGame, wxPython, even easygui, for Python 3 [though I only got EasyGui to work].

Any of you guys use Macs and have a good gui library out there that you prefer to use? Can you give me the name of it? Is it because I am using 10.6.8? What is going on with this?
