Todoist to Google Calendar Public Events

Good question! Here are some common scenarios where you'd want tasks visible publicly:

Shared calendars:

When you share your calendar with colleagues, family, or team members, they see "Busy" blocks but not what you're actually doing. Making tasks public shows "Meeting prep" or "Project deadline" instead of just "Busy time."

Multi-calendar sync:

If you sync work + personal calendars together, private events don't display properly in merged views—they just show as blocked time without context.

Calendar delegation:

When someone manages your calendar (assistant, secretary, partner), they need to see your actual tasks to schedule around them effectively, not just empty busy slots.

The Todoist integration creates all events as private by default, so this script just automates making them public for people who need this behavior.

Todoist to Google Calendar Public Events
Tutorial

This script automatically sets all events created by Todoist on Google Calendar to public visibility using sync tokens for efficient incremental updates. It automatically finds your Todoist calendar and processes only new or modified events after the first run. Perfect for when the Todoist–Google Calendar integration creates events as private by default.
