The Trouble has begun

I know I already posted today - and I only get to post about once a month (great track record for blogging). Anyway this just happened today and it was too cute to not share. It all began when I went to change Reesie's diaper and came back to this.

Image Look Mom I found where you put the toys - now I can get them myself - I 've just got to tip the basket over.

Image So I put down Rees to go and get my camera to take the picture - then Benson notices - Hey mom whats that you have there.

Image Give me the camera - I'm coming to get you.

Meanwhile....... I turn around to this

Image What, I'm innocent

Image O.K. maybe not

Image This is delicious!

It just makes me smile though - although I'm sure it won't always. This is going to get complicated -isn't it.

Lots of 1st's

O.k. people don't normally take "Thanksgiving pictures", but since it's the boy's first Thanksgiving I just had to. Thanks to our awsome niece Lauren for taking our pics.

Image
Can you see Rees' two little bottome teeth? You have to look closely, but they're there.

Image
Finally a smile was caught on camera :) I don't know what it is about taking pictures that makes them look in awe instead of smiling.

ImageWe stayed "home" for Thanksgiving - as you all know that means Lloyd and Judy had Thanksgiving at their house. It was quite the crowd and loads of fun. It involved the TN Smith clan including the cousins here and from SC as well as my brother Todd, Heather and Fam from GA. I was able to do just a little part of making the stuffing and Rees made some chocolate pies. The babies went down for a nap just before we ate - so they missed the big dinner. I was thinking how sad that they missed getting some mashed potatoes, but I guess it allowed Rees and I to have dinner without interuption. I just love this time of the year! I am greatful for the great family we have surrounding us! Not only are they very supporting in every way, but they are fun to hang out with!
We took my brother's family up to Cades Cove and Gatlinburg the next day. All the Christmas lights were up and it felt like the perfect way to kick off the Christmas season. I'm definately in the mood for Christmas now. If I could just figure out how to do my Christmas shopping with the twins between their two naps - looks like online shopping is the winner!

REAL, Wicked, Stone Mountain

So who would of thought that Girls Night Out would be a sportings event? Well my sister took me to the REAL soccer game for my birthday, and it was great fun! It was super cold and we almost got away with no babies. We got to bring Mercedes (Isn't she a super cute baby?), but she was o.k. since she was a girl (yah thats the reason it was o.k. - hahaha.)

Image
Image Of course that was earlier in October - trying to play catch up! Two weekends ago Rees and I got to go to Wicked down in Atlanta. I absolutely loved it! Glinda was crackin me up! Anyone who doesn't know much about it check out http://www.wickedthemusical.com/.

Image The next day we stayed down in Atlanta and went to Stone Mountain with my brother Todd, Heather, James, Kat, and Phillip. There was so much to do there we definately want to go back. One thing that was very cool was the sky hike - it's a hike in the trees and goes four stories high. We got to do the smaller one (because of lines) we want to try that again! Of course we went to the Varsity - twice! - a Smith family favorite.

Life is good - I'm lovin it!

Happy Halloween!

We have had halloween all month long. We went to the Benson Halloween Party earlier in October. At the time all we had were these cute halloween outfits. I had to get them actual costumes though for the ward trunk or treat, and Halloween night. I'm sure they were wondering wht the deal was with the banana outfints - they were just too cute. Can you tell they were banana's in the pics? Who knows, but it was a lot of fun.

6 months and counting

ImageImage

It's true that Benson and Rees are now almost 8 months old! I had to share their cute 6 month pics though. What cuties they are. The latest on the babies are: Benson is a pro sitter, loves to make noises with his lips and has finally caught up to Rees' rolling abilities to all over the floor, Rees has his two bottom teeth, loves to roll over, sit up, and giggle at his brother! The funniest of all is that they love to steal each other's pacifiers while trying to keep their own, same goes for toys, but nothing beats the pacifier!

Twice the mess, and fun

Image So we finally tried spoon feeding the boys. I was putting it off as long as possible because I knew it was just going to be double the mess. Well it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be - as you can see. We finally have it even better under control - what a magical wonder are plastic bibs that catch all food and spit up! And how cute they look. So yes this is my life these days - feeding, changing, cleaning, but I love it because I love the boys so much. I love the saying (something to the effect) "I never knew that a short chubby balding guy would be my type" yet here I am in love with two of them.ImageThere is so much to catch up on. We went to Bear Lake with the Benson Family, which was so fun. The only bummer was "Daddy" Rees couldn't come because of work. We got to play on the beach at the lake with all the cousins who could make it. While Rees took a long nap Benson went to the park for the first time with his cousin Lola. We had fun blowing bubbles, going on the swing, and Uncle Jon took him down the slide. It was great! I am sure it was more fun for me though.

The greatest though was later Jon teaching me how to long board. It was really fun, but what was so great was me thinking I was hot stuff and then all of a sudden completely biffing it on the cement! Oh how life has a way of humbling you! I got up pretty fast - telling Jon I'm o.k., but the reality was I couldn't use my arm for a few days. How lame! Maybe someday I'll master the long board - hahaha it makes me laugh. Dad always taught us to get back up after we were hurt and do it again, well I think I will.

Beach Bums

Image Here are the boys at Ocean Isle Beach. Aren't they all so cute - o.k. so I'm biased. We had such a great time with the Smith clan. What was the beach like with two babies? Busy - just like at home only Rees was Imagearound all of the time, which was a nice change and you couldn't beat the scenery! We have loved going to Ocean Isle over the years. I had missed it the last two years that Lloyd and Judy were on their mission. It's not just the place though, it's the whole experience. I've had co-workers think I'm crazy for loving to spend an entire week with my in-law family. That would be 14 adults and 23 "grandchildren" ranging from 0 to 19. For most people that probably would be crazy, but it's so much fun and crazy!
This year one of my favorite things besides going to the beach was my nephews Smith, Paxton, and Patrick serenading us on their ukulele's and guitar!

About Time!

Finally we started a blog of our own. What to catch up on - well our twins are now four months old. So here are a few of my favorite photos of them together from the last few months. ImageImage
ImageWhat little cuties they are!! The last four months have been quite the journey. Life is starting to be a little more "normal" now that the babies are sleeping through the night. "YAY"!!
