First quarter of 2011, Spring 2011

Haven't posted anything for like forever ..

The last post was more than 6 months ago!!??!

I think it's time to update myself and the World

First, 3rd year..Junior yr..first semester started a month and half ago.

Enrolled for 6 courses including 4 major courses, Thermodynamics, Mechanical Behavior of Materials, Experiment in Materials & Micro structural characterization of Materials which is an awful burden and stress which cause more hair fall which i noticed at the end of last month..so decided to drop a major course with some space to breathe and enjoy my 3rd Spring in Korea^^

Well, I would say nothing different really happen to me so its the old boring me but while being a 'solo', there are much more opportunities to learn and explore different possibilities - The biggest asset to improve and bring one's life to another level.
Learning through other people's achievements and failure is one which I observe the most and from there, has brought about many different perceptives and way of thinking...ok this is boring let's move to another topic..

After 2 years in SNU in the same old always-under-renovation with quite frequent electricity loss etc, decided to apply for a limited place in the newly built dorm right next to the old dormitory. I think most foreigners who applied made it except for a few friends who did not make it anyway the whole thing is..the new dorm is excellent and feels MORE like a real dorm with better facilities and SUPER FAST internet..10mbps which means i can download 1G movie and watch it right after 5~10minutes.
Don't know what's going to happen if I had to move back to the old one, might just move out of campus and live in a rented room lol
The room's really cosy, wide and airy. Looking out from the window, there's a football field and everyday, without fail football session starts from 7am and ends around 8pm.So I have a natural? alarm clock to wake me up. But its good since I can sleep earlier and wake up early!! ImageImage.the desired student?? lifestyle.

My roommate's aImage year older than me and is his last year and his getting ready for a government exam for those who wants to be teachers..another one of the many qualification exams for different professionals..no wonder South Korea has the highest? percentage of suicide rates in the world. A few weeks ago there were suicide incidents in KAIST, Korea Institute of Science & Tech, a top engineering university in Korea, on par with SNU's engineering faculty. Probably caused by the stress while studying but that's true for many students in Korea's top universities.
No wonder students usually take a semester off from uni or study more than 8 semesters just to graduate. Okay, this is depressing..next topic!

My new found addiction for a totally different sport, BASEBALL! One of my best 형 hyung introduced me to this sport last summer when i went for a trip down south to his house near Busan. I would say its a much more interesting and exhilarating sport compared to football..because its a very family-oriented? sport.. if you have 5 person in a family, you can have the father as the pitcher, the son as the hitter/batter, the mother and other son or daughter as the mid/left/right fielder. Besides that, its nt a really 'man' game like football/soccer, its a entertaining game which you can watch with your family, friends, gf/bfs etc. You just have to know the rules and have a team you LIKE!!

Basically(don't need to read this if nt interested), its rules are more complicated than football rules..whereby u win by just scoring goals..but in baseball, you win by scoring points..and scoring a point is not easy. The hitter has to hit the ball and run from the first, 2nd, 3rd base and finally the home to score a point. We all have heard about hitting a homerun. A hitter who makes a hit can run to as a max of 2 bases but if he hits a homerun..he can run from first to home base and score a point. However if there are other hitters already on the base, then it will be 2 or 3 or a maximum of 4 points which is HUGE! Once a hitter hits a HOMERUN, everyone goes wild because u know there's at least a point in the bag already. i'm sure you don't know what I'm talking about, so just learn from a friend or watch and learn as u go like how I used to do^^

On a final note, things are going great for myself but seeing too many changes in the past few months was the catalyst which made me finally write something here..All those changes had a really deep impression that not all things stay the same..people can change(mostly due to relationship or an unprecedented accident) and some things never change( family-relationship)
Also people change to stay ahead of other people, to gain what they see as an opportunity for themselves...and all this are governed by the thirst for success.

I'm sure i myself is not an exception but I'm glad I have noticed all these coming in...in one way or another =)

Anyway, gonna watch a REAL baseball game soon even with all the exams...exams never end so..just enjoy as much as possible =)
Take care and adios^^

End of Summer Break'10

Summer Break's coming to an end~

Had one of the best summer holidays with friends in Korea.

What's up for next summer?
Who knows, but most prob to the land of kangarooooos ^^

Not to forget
August 31st - motherland's independence day!

Happy Birthday Malaysia !!

Even though all those chaos and nonsense plaguing Malaysia and it's policy makers
still proud to be Malaysian with its overdue slogan Malaysia Boleh heh =/
Time changes, Malaysia needs some change as well. It's up to us future leaders, young aspiring flag bearers~ hold aloft ~ !

Also on a note,
After 2 years with my first ever 'love' in Korea ( the white samsung anycall, SCH-W270 )
I've changed for a much better one

latest Samsung's Galaxy S !!

still lots of surprises up the sleeves, yet to be discovered apps. Really really cool gadget, can even watch TV ( called dmb in korea ), transfer songs, movies easily by plugging to the computer!

Moreover,
come 27th August, my parents will be making their 2nd trip to Korea after our first Korean tour in 2007 winter.
Looking forward to spending some time with dad and mummy =)))

And

finally,

Hot and Humid; Summer 2010

After a dreadful first semester of just practically studying and keeping the focus on getting the results by the end of the semester, looks like the effort might have paid off, but unexpected things happened.
The grading system is very demanding and tough on the students.
I took this silly inline-skating class and hola, I got a crazy B0 for it. That's just below satisfaction and nobody ever gets that silly grade for sports subjects. thanks to the teacher in-charge, made my life quite miserable when its the time to party and enjoy the early summer holidays. I had to write some paper about inline skating, and about my perceptions and some introspection about it. Thus delaying my holiday mood till mid June.
Well, 2 weeks has passed since summer holidays start.

But well, not so much of a holiday.
Having to take compulsory general subjects like econs.
Econs is interesting! A new kind of concept to understand but at the same time really applicable in one way or another. Market, supply and demand lol
That Korean professor, taught for quite some time in Chulalongkorn university but speaks perfectly 'South East Asian' English. I could understand every single word he said. Compared to Korean professors who graduate from US and come back with non-American slang, but Konglish.
darn, talking about the difference between fighting and 'phaiting' . this is what konglish sounds like. with the f syllable replaced with 'ph' consonant or ㅍ in korean.

Well, I'm glad the summer is here.
Planning to go to Shanghai Expo in August to visit the world's biggest expo on technology. But the problem is not getting there but about being there. Chinese. Yes, communication is a problem.
So i decided to 'recruit' some chinese-speaking friends to go. Bah. I would have loved to go on a solo trip. Good way to see and enjoy the world for yourself =)

Besides that, getting back to normal life I guess. Doing what I've been doing since like 5 years old. Badminton tournaments in a few weeks time. Got to hit the jackpot. 400k worth of prize money @.@.. i bet everyone's training hard for the tournament.
Also at the end of the month there's another inter-uni tournament but its at the southern part of Korea. freaking 5 hours of drive from seoul. Probably a roadtrip which will be cool.

And yes, i need to score for my econs. mid-summer term exam this week and final exam at the end of this month.

Finally, I guess my friend's all having a good time back at home too. Semester break.
Happy holidays guys!

There're so much things i wanna do in the break, but already having another dreadful semester in fall makes me wanna study beforehand...hence, not so much play for now, but study too =/ Darn, no stopping studying. blame who? just blame the tough schedule of being an engineering student in SNU. Blah
But i need to slow the pace and do some reminiscing? well, if u understand
그 사람도 만났다 unexpected things do happen #.@

Looking forward to more fruitful days , erh!
Be back with maybe perhaps some nice expedition or some journey log next time!

buhbye~

2010 Spring Sem: Sophomore Year!!

Spring semester of 2010 starts this week again.
Been a long winter holidays
Time to kick old bad habits and work harder than ever.

The best part of being a sophomore is that you're not old and not too young
either. And having juniors are great, no more forced drinks lol

Class goes on as normal, this time double the heat of last year.
Mostly major subjects which are really demanding.
solid mechanics, Quantum mechanics, physical chemistry, engineering maths, etc

Well, at the same time we STILL need to enjoy our student life.
Go for club activities, meet friends, old and new ones and make full use of our
always-insufficient time that we have everyday.

Anyway,
Happy 개강 to all my friends in Korea =)

Adios 2009, Hello 2010

After a few months hiatus, finally the temptation to blog today is bigger than ever =)

Final Day of 2009: 31.12.2009
Going back to the last few months,

everything that was deemed impossible or nearly 'untouchable' had been realized.

unfathomable...unpredictability, the essence of the future and to realize while being truly able to firmly grasp the reality took me a long time.

But now it's settled...and when it's done, the year 2009 is now just less than 24 hours.

Tomorrow morning, everything would seem the same. indifferent? The pile of snow lying below the trees outside my dormitory visible through the room window would be an evidence of it.
So what is going to change?
That's only up to you.
If you THINK you are going to change or have changed, so have you.
But first, what is it about you which is going to change?
Personality?
Attitude?
or just your silly habit of impunctuality? procrastination? or not being able to hold up to your promised words?

2009 was not cruel to me, or either too good either.

2009 was a year of chance and trials.

2009 brings only better hope for 2010 and the years ahead

but 2009 will also bring me one of the best memories. Not life changing though, but its the catalyst, the start of another chapter,

University life would be the crucial stage in shaping our attitude towards life.

That's why for my resolutions ...in 2010..

2010 Resolutions>>

It's the time for resolutions, resolutions and more resolutions?
Regretted not being able to do much this year??

Well, take it slow, take a deep breath. Well, if you DID regret, don't worry. You're not alone. Almost the majority of the people in the world is just like you and me.

But as long as what you did was worth your YEAR, then it's fine^^

no regrets, life goes on.

Life is simple in the long run, but while we're still at it, it seems like the biggest obstacle in life. pulling every inch of your brain muscle, the agony of pain, the pain itself and of course, your sensory nerves. IT gives you LIFE. you feel lively at that very moment, because you feel pain.
Pain is just a suggestion. Pain can also relate to happiness and joy.
What's in pain is how people tend to relate its effect with themselves.

So, get ready with a bunch of new lively, refreshed and rejuvenated resolutions and a whole load of will power to start the year 2010 with a BANG!!!

so, here goes my 2010's New Year Resolutions,

1) Study harder (& more consistently) than 2009.

2) Never to go lower than C+ in my grades (제발~)(this seem crazy, why C+?? , if you're in SNU, then you'll understand what i'm saying)

3) To wake up early and do something useful, instead of wasting time sleeping away(oh yeah, unless i'm really TIRED! )

4) Be more optimistic, look at the brighter side of things.
^.^

5)Try to be KIND to everyone, especially my family members and friends. ( I feel i've not been that kind , so =/ )

Time & Space:

Physics?? I'm going to vomit~ ueerrgh~ STOP~Enough of physics !

But eh, if it's related to us, then it's actually meaningful. That's why it's interesting =p

Everyone has their own time and space frame.
That's why it's called PERSONAL SPACE.

Some people share their time and space with each other.

Some people don't share the same time and space together, but their minds work together.

Some people share the same time but at a different space with different thoughts. That's just about every second.

Some people share the same space, but at different time.
Why??
Because time is actually a relation, which means people do not share the same thought.
Just like in a subway train. Think about it.

However,

when people having a different time and space frame share the same thought, it could be a mere telepathy or the bigger thing, L.O.V.E. That's how people miss each other. family friends etc. Even animals share this simple feeling of thought, time and space.

E = mc2

This is just yet the simplest but also the most complicated, intriguing equation on earth.
Einstein is truly a genius. IT does not have only to be those concrete boring physical calculations.
Think of it this way.

E = feelings, thought, emotions etc

m = human being

c = Time and Space

Imagine there are billions of people, and infinite number of time and space, what will you have for E??

It's always expanding, as how the universe is. Every second, a new star is born.

So what better way to kick start 2010???

Share this E with the BILLIONS of other people in this world.

P:S I would like to wish everyone especially DAD, MUM, TA JIE, ER JIE ,
MY friends in Malaysia, out of Malaysia and those in Korea
and you, you and YOU!!

A HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY NEW YEAR~

ALL THE BEST FOR 2010.

And finally,

HELLO 2010 ^^

Also..some photo story..(Time Chrono)

Mid Autumn & First Wisdom Tooth!

A few months had passed since the reopening of 2nd semester of my freshie year.

How can i describe it? it's more like getting used to life and it's hardship as a foreign student.

Today is the end of midterms. busy 4-exam weeks, and half way to go for the semester... Have to say more effort is needed to be better prepared for the final exams. 기말때 대박 나야지!
time passes so fast!! 세월이 간다 라고쓸수도있겠네..

Actually to say that i'm quite contented with my current life is like having 10 ringgit to spend for a few days, knowing that u can make more out of 10 ringgit, or just spend it away..
..looks like its time to have some deep soul-searching to find a new, more powerful and more blood-seeking??? goal..
A person's passion, enthusiasm and will always have to be refreshed like how engines need refueling to keep the vehicle moving.. You can't just live with a single vow forever...vows are renewed and constantly reminded so that we do not stray away from our main path and also to keep us on our toes.

Just when all things seem smooth going, we can also face unexpected difficulties. But it always takes time and a little more understanding to be able to face it and to come to a wise, win-win situation conclusion.

Hmm!
oh... A few days ago, the signs of maturity had made it's final call...
Wisdom tooth =/ ....yeah, sounds good but it's the only reason i am pulling myself to the nearest dentist to pull it out. uh, it started from some weird gum movements??? and then come the slight pain and then the sore throat sets in. Only did i realise it could be something wrong with my teeth but not something to do with my wisdom tooth was after i visited my campus clinic.
It feels a bit of a horror...being told it has to be pulled out..and was a bit disillusioned after that..
ah...'why is this happening' and after all those crumbled jumbled mind thinking, finally did it begin to get into my head...ah' the time has finally come' ..but why here? why now???
gah...
i searched on the internet and lots of reasonable advices were given but some of those made me worried....ah, if only it's back at home, just eat 'moi' which my mum can cook for me =//

So tmr , will face the knife and screw and those tools as if its gonna dig a hole on the road ( yeah its digging from the gums instead!!) which i never went but only once in my lifetime ..that also had a super bad experience..never liked opening my mouth in front of dentist...살려줘~ ㅠ
so there we go, 2 wisdom tooth waiting to be pulled out....with the number 2 in front symboling the age?? signs of coming out of age?? ...we'll see in future....

Sweet Home Pulau Pinang!

Finally, after a long summer semester and a long 14 months, I'm back home!! But something smells weird..well....The house smells not the same..or I'm not used to it..BUT!! I still do my house chores like how i used to do it..without a blink of an eye, just terus~~~ 숑숑~
my body is getting used to it faster than what my brain is telling me >.< style="color: rgb(255, 102, 0); font-weight: bold;">12:34:56 07/08/09

Tingling???

Don't miss the time!!

Okay, today much better. woke up at 11?? The smell and sound of my dad cooking in the kitchen..like old times =/. After bathing, called some and ofessor and had some chat . Looked through old newspapers. ......and then....at night...went out with my old buddies~
went for movie, GI JOE, just screened in Malaysia on 29th? and not a really great movie..i think the ship warfares is just like starwars or something faky but the overall plot is okay^^
Then after that went to have hokkien char! or just maggi near burmah road? hehe, so delicious till i ate the 'tua eh' costing rm5.50 but who cares =/

Day3:
Went to Gurney Plaza and had dinner with my godbro who is on a working trip with my parents and ah ku. My godbro's gonna get married soon early 2010, ...with an Indonesian Chinese , hmm
so there's one of those rare ones! Unfortunately, not sure if i could make it to his wedding?? but i'll be sure to get angpau from him next CNY! hehehe =)
Later at night went to egate for some drinks and chatting with old pals~

Day4:
went PC fair in the morning, not much stuff to buy and met keong, jian, nic and the others working for maxis, haha...pity them but they are like boss there also..hmm

Day5:
Ah..Only day 5?? lol....okay..talked to uknowwho and she's gonna be away for a 5days 4night camp. Well...hmmm
good news is that I'm gonna get a new phone!! LG or samsung, prob coz now they have models which has Korean Language pack so i can start sending msgs in Korean too!!!! HEHE 신난다~~

Day6:
Went back to my old secondary sch, Penang Free School. Seen lotsa changes, lots of refurnishing especially in the main pond area and the canteen...Pfex board still the same..but somehow...became more like MIC MCA ..-.-
spoke to my old teachers, the ever steady pfex adviser and my pure math teacher, always showing interest in maths and maths only. ^^ After that went for movie with some friends meh..watched crazy hongkongnese movie. On His Majesty's Secret Service starring Louis Koo and some crazy actress duno her name....anyway.hilarious one!~~ ㅋㅋㅋ

Day7:
Played badminton with some friends since a long time!!

Day8:

.......................

:
:
:
:

missed writing all the rest of the days!
However... tada~~~.suddenly..3 weeks have passed in a blink of an eye...#!!??!
Basically i've eaten all the food i've missed for the past 14 months and I think i've grown heavier bah -.- Going back I'll start to 'fast' ...hehe..YES! FASTing! err..accurately, half fasting, half dieting ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
Almost everyday, my dad went out either for lunch or dinner with me...while my mum is working so..only on weekends =( Mum is so busy working. Next year CNY more time to spend with her d. ^^
To my friends all couldn't spend much time but still was nice to see all of them...everyone changed alot...But the thing which changed the most is the people...i feel suddenly all my friends are in another phase in life..getting ready for their own life in future, setting their own yardstick, having their own 'partner'. I guess its right...the road to one's own career and family starts right now . =/
Maybe in just a few years, some might be even handing out red packets!!!! lol

I came home with a different feeling....and now I'm going back to the life in the fast lane with another different feeling from when I came. Surely it seems things changed alot. Even Daddy changed to a more sensitive and caring Dad. Everyone's talking about the future more clearly now and working towards it with a more serious mind. I hope everyone has their own goals by now with a clear vision to accomplish. Looking back at the old days where its still trivial and seemed far..now it's just right in front of us.

Ohh and oh...enjoyed my short trip back home. Nevertheless, another long semester is awaiting ahead. With my own life's journey....I prayed to KuanYin today. People pray to clear doubts and the constant worries which plagues us. Thanks to Dad too, now I know who am I deeper and understand what's the DNA in me.
Hoping and praying for the bumpy days ahead^^

I wish that everyone stays healthy and never forget each other or grow further apart. Especially to my sister back in Aus and my family here..Should I understand more of family values..But i'm yet a learned person here. And to the old friends, KIT and to the rest, for the future !! Cheers~~

For 2009 2nd Semester and to the start of my own 2nd year in the Land of Morning Calm....

Here we go!!!

P;S I hope 3 weeks isn't too long nor too short ㅎㅎ
