Meet the Team
The Republican Liberty Caucus is divided into eight regions. The board is comprised of 15 individuals, the breakdown of which is as follows:

John Dennis
ChairJohn Dennis first gained prominence in politics as the libertarian Republican running for congress against former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. John has been an RLC member since 2010. He has served on the RLC National Board since 2015, most recently as Vice Chairman. John was Chairman of the California RLC chapter (RLCCA ) for three terms. John serves on the board of directors of the California Republican Party as “Chair of Chairs” i.e., Chairman of the CAGOP County Chairmen’s Association (CCA). He is also currently the Chairman of the San Francisco Republican Party. Born in one of Jersey City, New Jersey’s toughest public housing projects, John graduated from Fordham University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. At Fordham John was elected student body president. John joined office ergonomics manufacturer Humanscale as an intern, becoming a partner and the company’s second largest shareholder. He worked in tech and has been a real estate developer for more than two decades. John is a veteran of scores of political campaigns. John, his wife Heather, and their daughter Devan live in their dog Augie’s house in the Pacific Heights neighborhood of San Francisco. John has been a San Francisco resident since 1991.
Matt Nye
TreasurerMatt Nye is an innovative entrepreneur and political activist with more than 30 years experience in finance and technology. Nye has served in every role possible within the Republican Liberty Caucus since becoming involved in 2007. He founded the Republican Liberty Caucus of Central East Florida (RLCCEF) in 2008, organized the Brevard Tea Parties in 2009, became the RLC of Florida State Treasurer in 2009, was elected Chair of the RLC of Florida and Treasurer of the National RLC in 2011. He was elected as National Chair of the Republican Liberty Caucus in 2013 and served for a decade in that capacity. He now serves as Treasurer. Nye is a frequently sought expert on subjects like taxes, regulation, waste, fraud, abuse and transparency.

Ben Beckhart
Vice ChairBen Beckhart first got involved in politics as a Ron Paul supporter during the 2008 election cycle. He served as a Precinct Committeeman in the Arizona Republican Party for twelve years. In 2018, he co-founded the Republican Liberty Caucus of Arizona (RLCAZ), where he held the role of Secretary/Treasurer for four years before serving as Vice Chair for an additional year. After relocating to Kentucky, Ben helped launch the Republican Liberty Caucus of Kentucky (RLCKY) in 2025, currently serving as the RLCKY Chairman. He has also been active on the national Republican Liberty Caucus (RLC) board since 2021, beginning as the appointed Southwest Regional Director. He was elected Secretary at the 2021 national convention, advanced to Vice Chair in 2023, and was re-elected to that position in 2025. Additionally, Ben chairs the RLC Legislative Affairs Committee, where he plays a key role in developing the organization's annual legislative scorecards.
Michael Anderson
SecretaryMichael Anderson is a Christian and America First conservative with over eight years of experience in grassroots politics and legislative advocacy. He currently serves as Secretary on the National Board of the Republican Liberty Caucus and is Vice Chair of the Republican Liberty Caucus of Texas. His work has focused on advancing faith-driven, populist conservatism and strengthening the Republican Party from the bottom up. Michael began his political involvement with Young Americans for Liberty, serving as Chapter President and Texas State Chair. He later launched YAL’s legislative action program as Hazlitt Action Director, leading successful efforts to pass major conservative legislation including Texas Constitutional Carry and school choice legislation in Kentucky and Missouri. He also helped organize major campus and grassroots events, including hosting former Congressman Ron Paul at the University of Houston and passing body camera policy in the City of Houston.
