Tampa RV Super Show

We went to the Tampa RV show Saturday, drove down to Tampa Friday night, spent the night in a hotel Friday night and went to the RV Show Saturday morning.

There was 5 of us, along with me was my middle Brother in Law and his son, my youngest Brother in Law and a long time friend (guys night and day out)

We had a great time and stayed way too late at the show (Stayed till closing time at 6:00) which put us getting back to Tallahassee around Midnight Saturday night.

We saw lots of nice RVs of all price points, styles and models. We also got to see many of the new floor plans, features and options but was not able to see everything in just one day.

It was a long day Saturday so I slept in Sunday morning. The weather here Saturday night and most of the day Sunday was pretty rough, rain on and off and lots of wind. There were tornado warnings and some tornado touch downs North of here in South Georgia. Power has been out around town but has been good here at the RV Park with only a few flickers today. The CG Cable TV has been out all day but I am using my Satellite so all is good :)

Cleaning up 5er and new Quad Copter (Drone) flight

I had a busy day today, lots of house cleaning.
I got up on the roof and scrubbed it good today (been over a year since it has been scrubbed), it was quite dirty.
Of course when you clean the roof, the crud runs down the side of the walls and makes a mess so I wound up washing all the outside walls to get the roof crud off.
Now my house is clean on the outside from top to bottom :)

Next was to tackle the inside, vacuum the floors, mop the kitchen, dining area, and bath room, then get the carpet cleaner out of the cabinet and clean the carpet in the rear bedroom and front living area.
I have been busy and just have not had time to do a real good cleaning inside.

I also had time today to fly my Quad Copter (Drone) my daughter got me for Christmas (I crashed my last one and broke something in one of the motors so it would not fly with 3 motors running)
This new Quad Copter has more features and is much easier to fly than my previous one plus it links up by Wi-Fi with my I Phone (after downloading free app).
Now I get real time view of what the camera on the Drone sees and just hit a button on the I Phone screen to take a picture.
This Drone also came with 2 batteries and they are easy to change.

2017

Well and new year is upon us, hope to have a Healthy, Happy and Safe year.

I am still setup in Tallahassee FL for at least another month, lots of projects to get completed before heading out on the road again.

Heading down to Orlando this coming weekend to setup our display at the IBS Show (International Builders Show).  Leaving the 5th Wheel setup here in Tallahassee this time, staying at the convention center hotel.
I do not have to work the booth at this show, just make sure everything gets setup and stay in the area to be sure the new display stays working correctly during the 3 day show.

After the IBS Show, I will be back in the Tallahassee area working on some R&D Projects.

We will be having a 3 day Field Installation meeting here in Tallahassee the end of the month, there will be some training, social events and a Tower Shoot for the group.

Shortly it will be the one year anniversary of my beloved wife of almost 40 years passing, it has surely been a challenging year but I have stayed busy, am doing ok and still taking everything one day at the time.

Looking forward to a couple of events this year.
The first will be the RV Dreams Rally in Tennessee in early May then I have a trip setup to Alaska for 2 weeks while I leave my Redwood 5th Wheel at the factory service center in Topeka IN to get some structural warranty work done.

It has been a while since I have updated my blog.

Lots of things have happened since my last update.

This has been a pretty tough year, my wife Debra of almost 40 years passed away from a very short term illness last March.
We would have made our 40th Anniversary on June 5th, 2016 and she would have been 60 years old on November 15th, 2016

Good Times, we enjoyed traveling all over the country and seeing some great sights

I am still traveling by myself with my Grand Dog Bale and doing ok.

This past summer I made a trip up through the Northeast, spent 4th of July in Myrtle Beach SC, then traveled to Virginia Beach VA for a few weeks then spent a few weeks in Hammonton NJ.
Once I finished up in NJ, I headed towards Indiana for the Redwood Rally, had a great time at the Rally, met old friends and made new friends.

After the Rally I went to Branson MO for a week, Debra and I talked many times about going to see Branson but never made it.

I am currently parked in Tallahassee FL for a few months getting some R&D work done at our manufacturing plants and spending Christmas time with my Daughter and Son In Law.

I will try to update this blog as I start moving again the first of the year.

Have two fun events planned for 2017, going to the RV Dreams Rally in Tennessee in May and to Alaska for a 12 night Glacier Discovery excursion and Cruise.

Lazy Days and Warranty Repairs

We made it to Lazy Days CG today, ready for our Service appointment tomorrow morning.
Need to get water leak around A/C unit fixed and a few other warranty items taken care of too.

Will be here at the Lazy Days CG all week getting some work done in the Tampa area.

Much warmer than we have had for some time now, we were in Nashville TN during the Ice Storm a few weeks ago, I was in New Jersey about 4 weeks ago, all those areas are too cold for me.

Even at our home base in Tallahassee FL, it was cold and down to freezing at night.

Nice and warm down here in Tampa, it was 83 degrees when we arrived today.

Not much else happening, just wanted to update our location change.

A week in Hotels with Ice and Snow everywhere

Have not posted in a while, just been working and getting stuff done, not much to write about.

We did a whirlwind trip the past week, we left Tallahassee FL on Sunday afternoon, (Left the 5th Wheel in our Tallahassee Home Base) and spent the Sunday Night in Montgomery AL, then left for Nashville Tennessee on Monday Morning.
Nashville had a Ice Storm and Snow like they had not had in many years, it was a mess, roads closed, schools and many businesses closed, driving was difficult with all the black ice.

Tuesday morning view out of our Hotel room in Nashville, it was COLD and lots of ice on the road.

We left Nashville heading East on I-40 towards Knoxville TN, the roads were covered with ice and snow, had to run about 45 Mph most of the way to Knoxville. We wanted to stop by our SIL parents house in Cosby TN Wednesday morning and see his dad as he was not doing very well and was on hospice care. Unfortunately we did not make it in time as he passed away late Monday night / early Tuesday morning. We did get to stop by and see his mom and the rest of the family for a few hours, but we had to be in Myrtle Beach SC by Wednesday night so we said our goodbyes and braved the roads again.

We stopped at the North Carolina rest area on I-40, top of the Smokey Mountain pass.

Was snowing pretty good at the NC rest stop.

,We arrived in Myrtle Beach SC Wednesday afternoon for a couple of nights, weather was not too bad but the cold was headed t way.
Did my site inspections on Thursday and filled out the reports, it was windy and cold by Thursday.
We got everything done, went to dinner with our local tech and planned on a early start for the trip back to Tallahassee on Friday morning.
Friday morning the temperature was 12 degrees with a wind chill of 1 degree.
We were glad to get on the road and head South back to Florida.
We made it back to our Home Base and our 5th Wheel in Tallahassee about 4:30 Friday afternoon after a stop to pickup mail at our Daughters house and stop at the office to check in with the bosses.

We will be here at our Home Base for the rest of the week then heading South to Tampa FL next Monday 3/2.
Our  5th Wheel has a water leak (drips on the bed right where I sleep, most likely the A/C unit seal) taking it to Lazy Days in Tampa for a 3/3 appointment to get it fixed under warranty and a few other minor items taken care of a the same time.
