Flashback to the 80's

So at school Kirah dressed up 80's style for Flashback day. I thought about what she should wear. You think she looks silly? Well guess what? The joke is on me. This is one of the T-shirt dresses that my mom made me when I was about 8 years old. Yep-this is how she dressed me. All of my clothes were home-made and puff painted. I know sad, huh? I'm scarred-I'm not going to lie. But hey why not give my posterity a taste of what I went through. I crimped her hair and put it in a side ponytail. I love when she giggles when we do these things. When she got home from school I asked her if everyone looked silly and she said no that they looked cute and everyone laughed at her. She did think it was funny. Rob got quite a kick out of Kirah looking like his little crush-Debbie Gibson. He even gave us a performance of Debbie Gibson's Lost In Your Eyes. He's such a crack up. There's never a dull moment at the Ryan house!

Big K, Little K, and Special K

That's what Rob calls them. And from the look of these pictures you can tell how fun it is to get pictures with a 9 month old.

Kymbree's surgery

As you probably already know about 2 months ago, Kymbree cut her finger in a fan and it almost cut her finger off. It broke the bone all the way through. When we went back to the doctor 3 weeks later they took x-rays and found that the bone did not reattach and she said that the bone had died and she didn't really know what to do about it but told me to come back in 3 months. Well I didn't like that answer so I went to get another opinion. This doctor told me that her finger couldn't have died because if it did then the tip of her finger would have turned black and fallen off or needed to be taken off. So long story short, he wanted to try and pin the bone back together. He told us that if when he got into her finger he would see if he thought it would work and heal to pin it and if he didn't he would just take her finger tip off right then so that we wouldn't have to do another surgery later. So we took her in on Wednesday and it's good news. He got into her finger and totally reconstructed it. He fixed the nailbed and pinned the bones together and now we are waiting for 6 weeks to take the cast off and take the pin out and take x-rays to see if it healed so we are not out of the woods just yet but we are very hopeful that everything will go well. Thank you for your prayers for our sweet baby.

She was smiling in these pictures but the delay on my camera really messes me up. I need to figure out how to take care of that.

Easter Bunny

Image
We like to visit the Easter Bunny at the South Town Mall every year. The girls loved it. Kirah even made him a gift. I don't know what they are called but they are those little bead things that you iron and they melt together. Anyway, they were in the shape of a bunny. They were cute and she was excited to give them to him.

Easter Morning

The girls got in their dresses Easter morning and Kirah got Kymbree out of bed and dressed her for me because I had a headache and didn't feel very good. Then I got their hair done and we went downstairs to see if the Easter Bunny had come. And yes he sure did!
Image
Kirah found her easter basket in the bathroom along with a bike! She had been begging for a bike since last summer when some of the neighbor kids were making fun of her riding a baby bike. Kids can be so mean! She would come home literally crying EVERYDAY! So yes the easter bunny was generous this year. She rides it so well and she is so proud.
Image
Katelyn found her easter basket in the office with a princess tea set in it and Kirah's old bike with the training wheels put on by the easter bunny. But the silly easter bunny put the wheels on the opposite sides so that when Katelyn tried to ride it, the back tire just spun like an excersice bike. It was so funny. Good thing Daddy knows how to fix things better than the easter bunny! (Ha,Ha!)

Does cute little Kymbree look happy to see what the Easter Bunny bought her? She got a cute little radio and she dances on her cute little bum to it. It is so cute!

My mom is so talented. She made us all chocolate filled with caramel eggs and layed them in a bed of edible grass. This has always been a tradition that we love. I'm glad we don't get the marshmellow filled ones anymore-yuck!

Dying Eggs

This has always been such a fun thing for me. We like to color with a white crayon and then dye the eggs. Rob has always been alittle risky with the appropriate sayings to put on the eggs since the kids couldn't read but now that Kirah is reading, he has to tone it down alittle. Kirah giggled when she read the one that said HOT MAMA on it.

How cute are these kids? I just need to take some scissors to Kanyon's hair.

Easter Egg Hunt

We had our traditional egg hunt at my house again this year. It was fun because my brother flew home from Florida. We haven't seen him in months. He brought sweet little Deyton (his little boy) and my mom pick up Trent's little Kanyon who wouldn't come without his brother Bailee. I missed having Jayda and Kaden but I tried. The kids had alot of fun. Here they are finding their eggs.

Kirah found an egg in the mailbox.

Deyton is so cute.

Kanyon thinks one is under the trampoline.

Katelyn poor thing is alittle O.C.D. like her mother and had to put this egg back together before she could look for anymore eggs.
Image
I always get this picture of them waiting to go out to look for eggs. They look patient but that was not the case.

Swimming Lessons

The girls love swimming and going to swimming lessons. I want them to be really good swimmers since we going swimming so much so here they are at their lessons doing great for their teachers.

Kirah did so good. She was swimming pretty good by the end of her 15 minutes.

Katelyn is three and does really good for age...

Tea Party with Grandma Juddy

Grandma Juddy is my favorite Grandma. She has always had a way of making everyone feel so special. She raised my brothers and I when we were very young along with most of my cousins so we have always had a really special bond. Since I've had kids of my own, we've always gone to hang out with her once a week and we always baked something yummy. But about two years ago she couldn't take care of herself anymore and she needed to move to a treatment center so that they could manage all of the medications she needed so we have missed the good old days at Grandma's house. So this particular we wanted to do a tea party. My cute mom made jello, cut out cute shaped ham and cheese with crackers and sprite. Grandma loved it and as you can see so did the girls. I love you Grandma!
