October 2010

It has been forever since I've been on here... so I'm sorry! I am going to post some old happenings to catch anyone up who is interested.

Halloween last year -

We love dressing up in 'couple' type costumes.. so this year we were Mario and Princess Peach.

We had some friends over (awesome costume Sadie and Colton!) and played some games.

Also in October -

My little sisters wedding! She decided she wanted to have it in Mexico on the beach.. so the family and a few of her friends flew down there for 5 days and had a blast. We stayed in an all-inclusive resort which I would *highly* recommend to everyone. We got to release baby turtles into the ocean and we saw a sea turtle come up onto the beach and lay her eggs. It was the most amazing thing! Nature is so cool and it was awesome to see her process. We went on a four-wheel ride through the jungle, and went zip lining on this amazing mountain. My brother and his wife suprised us there - we had no idea they were coming. It was such a great experience, thanks for getting married in Mexico Tiff and Congrats to you and Jesse! :)

Happy Anniversary!!

Well Sunday is our first anniversary. I cannot believe it has been one year since we got married!! This year has definitely been an eventful one for us! I am so grateful for Rodney, he is such a great husband and provider for us. He takes good care of me and makes sure we have everything we need. We've got to have so much fun together and do lots of new things and go to new places - I can't wait for year 2! We are so lucky to be surrounded by amazing family and friends. I couldn't have dreamed of better in laws - his whole family is just great. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our first year together!
Here is a little flash back to our wedding day... June 27, 2009!Image

We had babies!

Okay, okay not us - it's gonna be a while til we're having kiddos :) - our yellow lab, Autumn! She had 8 yellow/white puppies June 4. It took her about 12 hours to have all of them - we had no idea it could take that long. What an amazing experience - it's crazy how instinct just kicks in and she knew what to do. She is a good doggy mama. They just barely started moving around and all of them now have their eyes open.. so cute!! ImageImageImage
They are so cute when they eat - they stick their tails straight out. ImageThis little guy loves to sleep on his back.ImageHere are all 8 puppies sleeping with a tired mama a day or so after they were born. Image

Arizona Road Trip!

We went to Arizona to visit my brother Cody, (sis in law) Cortney, (nephew and niece) Ryder and Liv. The drive ending up taking us about 13 hours I think.. but we drove right down the center of Utah on highways (instead of the freeway) and it was such a beautiful drive it didn't feel like 13 hours. Well when we were about halfway there guess who gets pulled over? Yep, Rodney! We were following a semi truck and he was getting ready to pass him so he was fairly close to him. As he was about to pass he had to pull back over since there were cars in the other lane - well the first one was a cop. And he pulled Rodney over for "following to closely". It was so strange, he asked Rodney to get out of the car and come sit with him in the patrol car. So wierd! Anyway the cop didn't give him a ticket and just told him to not follow as close in the future. haha. ImageImageThis picture was right after he had woken up and his cute little hair was flipped out. He is such a cute, happy little boy! I couldn't get enough of him!! ImageImageAnd here is Liv. She didn't want to let these goggles go and I just had to get a picture - she's such a little stinker. According to my mom that's exactly how I was when I was a little girl so Cod and Cort you guys are so lucky cuz I am awesome! haha just kidding! She is great! :) ImageThere is a couple swimming pools in my brothers complex and a pretty sweet resort nearby that we 'broke into' to go swimming. We went to one of the pools every day (this was back in March when it was still SNOWING in Utah - it was such a great place to be during that time). The one at the resort had a basketball hoop in the pool so the boys played that forever while Cort and I layed out and played with the kiddos.Image There was also 2 water slides that we got to play on and Cody and Rodney tried to take the kids down.. this picture shows just how much Liv loved it. ImageCody works at the Scottsdale TPC golfcourse right by his complex so he took us on a tour of the course on evening and let Rodney try golfing. Wow this course was unreal - it was so much fun!ImageImage The kids loved Rodney and wanted to be by him all the time... even when he was napping. haha - they were climbing all over him :)ImageI had to get a picture with them this night since Liv was wearing my favorite cartoon! We couldn't get them to look at the camera though.Image We went to the Mall and walked around for a while, their mall there is so huge! Liv couldn't wait to go...ImageThere is this really cool kids play place we went to let the kids have fun and Ryder showed us he is a little monkey. He climbed this thing like it was nothing - brave little guy!ImageImage
Well needless to say we did not want to come home and go back to work.. On the way home guess who got pulled over again? Yep, Rodney! Luckily we didn't get a ticket that time either - Rodney must be one smooth talker. They pulled him back to their car again to talk to him so I don't even know what was said, but he must've done good since we didn't get a ticket!

Living Room Fort

Alright it's been a while since I've posted anything so I'm going to have do to some catching up...

Rodney and I got to watch the girls one afternoon and we decided to make a fort in our living room out of blankets and chairs. It was so much fun.ImageImageImageWhen we decided to take down the fort, Hanna covered herself in all of our pillows and says "Rissa, Rissa, take a picture of me!!" haha and this is the face she gave me.. silly girl! Thanks for letting us watch the girls Ang, we're up for it anytime!

Safari Painting

So we went to Arizona to visit my brother, Cody, and his wife, Cortney, and their kids the last week of April... (I'll get some pictures up here soon) While we were there Cortney painted me this amazing piece of art for my living room I had to share! ImageYou should all check out her website of some of her recent pieces.. she's amazing!

Our Trip to Boise

We made a weekend trip to Boise this January to visit Tory, Melissa and the kiddos. It was such a fun getaway! We went snowboarding at Bogus with Tory. Melissa and Chase met us up there for the 2nd half of the day - Chase is a good little skiier! :) Here's some pictures of the day up there...ImageImage
The next day Tory took us on a snowshoeing adventure. Wow, you gave us quite a workout Tory!! It was the first time either of us had tried snowshoeing and it was quite fun! The snow was all untouched where we were hiking so we got to see some amazing views of the beautiful canyon. ImageImageImage

The trip was so much fun! Thank you so much Tory and Melissa for letting us take up your whole family room! :)
