brighter than sunshine

how lovely would it be to wake up to these every single day: to get out of bed, stick your head out of the window and breathe in the fresh, clean air of spring; to be welcomed by the gratifying sight of colourful flowers in bloom and big white fluffs of cloud against the bright blue sky?

oh i loved Bath to its very bits. i love the south of England. many a time i resent being up north where it is dull and dreary, and completely lacking the greenery and the beauty of the classic English countryside. 2 more years and i promise, i am packing my bags and heading down south! whether or not they give me a job. :p

i fell in love with England 7 years ago, when i was in Oxford, the Cotswolds and Stratford. and then i came back to England again, this time finding myself up north, only to be disappointed by how industrialised this region is. i love Manchester i really do, but only because it is relatively fast-paced, the shopping is great and there are many things to eat and do. but it is far from picturesque and it isn't a place i can drown myself in to find peace. and don't get me started on Preston. or Blackburn. the south is where i want to be.

i have been so inspired since my visit to Bath that i've been immersing myself in English classic films, each of which i've watched at least 3 times before this! one of my favourite classic writers is Jane Austen and it is no surprise where and how she got her inspiration to write. she was, after all, from Bath.

optimism

hello my lovelies. it's been awhile. my life hasn't been particularly interesting, hence the lack of posts. in fact it's been all about medicine, medicine, medicine, a crazy scrubs pubcrawl all around manchester somewhere in between (which was ultimately fun by the way), and more medicine. gosh i love what i'm doing (respiratory - not so much, but medicine in general - YES!). i really cannot imagine doing anything else. i do hope i will end 3rd year on a high note.

spring break has just begun. one week is short, but it will be amazing i know! hello london, i'm coming back to you. :)
