Sadie's Birth Story...

The contractions started Sunday night, the 19th of December when Ryan and I were out looking at Christmas lights. I had contractions throughout that whole night but they were only an hour apart and not too painful just uncomfortable. My mom got into town the next morning so that she could come to my Doctor's appointment at 10:45 on the 20th, I wasn't expecting much just hoping that I had dilated a little bit more since the week before ( I was hoping to get induced on the 20th but my doctor decided NO on that when I wasn't dilated anymore on the 14th so I was a little bummed.) Well at my doctors appointment they took my blood pressure 3 different times to find out that my blood pressure was higher than they like it to be. The nurses kept saying well you'll have to convince Dr. Judd to induced you today. Once I got in to see the Doctor, he looked at my blood pressure and said "Well, this could get you a free ticket to the hospital." Then he checked me and I was dilated to a 2 1/2 and he told me to head straight to the hospital, the sooner I could get there the better. I was so shocked, I started to tear up in excitement that my girl would be here before Christmas like I wished. I called Ryan right away and at first he thought I was just pulling his leg but soon realized I wasn't kidding. So he hopped in his car and headed to the hospital (his work is almost an hour away). Instead of following the doctor's orders my mom and I ran home to grab a few things got some lunch and then got the hospital
around 1. Ryan got there at the same time as us so it worked out perfectly.

Once we got into our room they gave me my cute gown and poked me 3 different times trying to get an IV into one of my small veins. Then they took a bunch of test through the IV. While they were doing that the doctor called and was going to come break my water, but since they weren't done doing the tests that didn't end up happening. So we waiting about an hour for the results and while we were waiting I had a contraction that made the babies heart rate drop... they were going to send me home and have me come back at 7:30 but because of the drop in her heart rate they wanted me to stay. So they put me on Cervidil @ 6 to make my contractions more intense and closer together. After that my contrations were 8-10 minutes apart lasting about a minute each. They started getting painful at midnight so they gave me some pain medicine through my IV so that I could have the edge taken off and sleep for a little bit but by 1:30 I could no longer handle anymore contractions they were way too painful. I was having them every 2 minutes and they were lasting about a minute and a half so I only had 30 seconds in between each contraction. I never imagined I would be like this but I felt like I was screaming "I can't take another contraction I NEED that epidural." and "Where is that epidural GUY!" Then at 2:15 I got the amazing epidural! And the rest of labor was a piece of cake!! Those girls that say they are going to go natural are CRAZY! but, good for them I would never recommend it, epidurals are great and make labor enjoyable. Anyways my nurse, Erin checked me before my epidural and I was 90% effaced and 5 cm. Within an hour I was 100% effaced and 10 cm. So, they called my Doctor and by 4:22 I was pushing. Since Sadie's heart rate kept dropping the doctor wanted to get her out as soon as he could, so he had to use forceps and with One big push little Sadie was welcomed into the world at 4:24! It was a moment I will never forget and the best feeling ever to see our little girl for the first time!

39 weeks!!

I'm only one week away from my due date now! Honestly it doesn't even feel like Christmas is in a week I'm just more focused on getting this baby here. This Christmas is going to be a lot different but I have a feeling it is going to be Ryan and I's best Christmas yet! This past week I've been paranoid about if I'm feeling contractions, if my water broke, what can I do to get this baby here sooner than later. I've been going to the gym and walking, bouncing on exercise balls, eating spicy food, doing what we did in the first place to get this baby, I would be outside "galloping" one foot on the curb and one foot off if there wasn't snow outside, and the list goes on. anyways, I looked up Signs that labor is near...

5 THINGS THAT HAVE HAPPENED
Nesting - CHECK been doing that for the past 2 weeks
Diarrhea - CHECK
The baby dropping - She gets lower every day so CHECK
Pelvic floor pressure - CHECK, everytime I stand up I feel like she is going to pop out
discharge - CHECK

3 THINGS THAT HAVEN'T HAPPENED
bloody show/the plug - NOT YET
rhythmic contractions - NOT YET, they are still happening but just randomly
Water breaking - NOT YET, but I thought it had, I called labor & delivery and she told me to wait an hour and if I filled up a pad than yes my water broke but... I'm just paranoid cause that wasn't the case.

So I'm trying to be patient and wait for those last 3 things to happen... I'm excited to see what this next week will bring! My mom comes into town tomorrow night, and then my dad gets here on Thursday! I just really hope that she comes while both my parents are still in town but I know things will happen the way they are suppose to now that my doctor wont be inducing me on Monday... I have another docotor's appointment on Monday, that my mom gets to come with me too since Ryan can't miss work, so we'll see if I've progressed since last week! Cross your fingers!

Baby pictures...

In about a week or so I will be holding my little girl just like this... admiring her cuteness. This is a picture of my mom holding me soon after I was born.

Image
Will she have big blue eyes? Blonde hair? A cute button nose? Ryan's cute cheeks? I can't wait to see this little girl for the first time. I think about her all day everyday, I'm so anxious to meet her!

Image
Here I am, I had a lot more hair than I thought.

Image
Ryan was hands down the cutest little boy, I love looking at his baby pictures.ImageI guess we'll see in a week or so whose features she has! Either way I think she will be pretty cute!

Almost there...

ImageToday I am 38 weeks pregnant!! This pregnancy has flown by, it feels like just yesterday I was telling my parents I was pregnant. Now, here I am 2 weeks away from my due date!! Here is a little update on what is happening... I went into the doctor this past Wednesday to have him check if I was dilated. Which, I AM dilated to a 1 :) I was really relieved to know that at least I've started this process! I'm going back to the doctor this Tuesday to see if I've dilated more than 1 cm. If I have then I will be able to get induced on either the 20th or 21st!! Depending on openings at the hospital for inductions. I'm so anxious to find out if I'll be able to get induced so that we can have our little bundle of joy home for Christmas, or if I'll be playing the waiting game to see if she comes on Christmas or my brithday, the 28th!! The doctor said that there is an 80% chance I will be able to get induced early, so we're keeping our fingers crossed for that!! Ryan and I just got back from our prenatal class, and I think we both really enjoyed it and learned a lot of good information that I'm glad I will know ahead of time. However, we did have to watch a birth video and I was the only one in the room dying laughing throughout the whole thing, because Ryan's face was in so much shock and looked like he was going to vomit any minute. I don't know why I thought it was so funny but I can't wait to see how Ryan handles me being in labor, it should be interesting!

We are really excited to meet our little girl, Sadie any day! It's crazy to think we could be holding her in just 9 days if not sooner than that. We couldn't be anymore excited! I just want to get past the anticipation of labor and onto sleepless nights, oh joy.

The past month...

Halloween was so much fun this year! We ended up celebrating on the 30th since the 31st was a Saturday this year. We started our day off by going to Lagoon frightmares because Ryan got 2 free tickets from his work, which i'll say wasn't too fun for me. Ryan and his friend Mark went from ride to ride while I waited outside of every ride for them since I can't ride any being pregnant. To make it worse it was raining out side, I did get to go through one haunted house though! Then afterward we headed over to Tyler & Jaimee's house for the Halloween Party of the year! Each year they always good all out and have the most fun halloween party, we look forward to it everything October! We had a pumpkin carving contest, played lots of fun games and ate lots of junk food... atleast I ate lots of it! Jaimee made these amazing Caramel apples that I couldn't resist. This year Ryan and I were a Basketball & Nugget player, it was the only thing we could come up with for my prego belly.Image

On the 13th of November Jaimee & Kimiko threw me a baby shower here in Utah along with lots of help from Sara (My sister in law) & my friend Kayti...
ImageThey did such a good job with all the decorations & food! I loved how they did the theme "All about Sadie" and they had baby pictures of Ryan & I and Ryan's mom...

There was a candy table with an assortment of yummy candy, cake balls & cupcakes! Everything was so delicious, we had plenty of left overs for everyone to take some home so we're still enjoying all the sweets..Image

We played the "measure the belly" game! Everyone guessed I was a lot bigger than I actually am but there were a few that got pretty close to getting it right.Image
Our little girl got spoiled and got so many cute outfits! I can't wait to dress our little girl in all the clothes she has gotten so far! ImageImageThanks to everyone that was able to come, It meant a lot to me, I have such great friends & family!ImageHere's the belly at 34 weeks!

ImageAnd then a week later at 35 weeks! Only a few more weeks left! I went to the doctor again this week and everything is going perfectly! I asked him about the possibility of making sure she is here for Christmas so that when my parents are in town they get to see her and he said that if I'm dilated at all by December 11th then he would give me the choice to be induced on December 17th!!! Which means in less than a month we could have a little baby!!! I am getting so anxious to meet her and hold her... We met up with my cousin Lori today and we got to hold her little 2 month old and it made both of us so excited and they reassured us that it's not as hard as people say it is. ImageSadie's Room is finally coming together we put up most of the decorations this past week! Only a few more things to buy and then we will feel more ready for Sadie to make her appearance into this world!!
