About

Empire Ag’s president is Ryan Edward Rock, an agricultural, industrial general contractor based in Ankeny, Iowa. For a young man who has consistently put forth a lot of effort to serve his country and several companies, the transition into business ownership seemed a logical next step. Rock, a native of the Midwest, settled down close to his childhood home and has since established a life, a business, and his own family.

Present-day responsibilities

Ryan of Ankeny, Iowa, could go on his own after years of working in the agricultural industrial sector. To plan and construct agricultural and industrial buildings, he established Empire Ag. Working with exceptional business partners and an elite field team, Rock fully knows that collaboration improves success. Together, they construct top-notch facilities around the country to process and store the grain, feed, and flour that contribute to the world’s food supply.

Rock thinks Empire Ag can offer the greatest building experience possible and improve client happiness by reducing overhead and closely monitoring customer needs.

Career Background

Throughout his entire life, he has worked consistently. Rock’s family rented a 160-acre farm from his grandmother when he was a child, so he was familiar with the duties of managing a farm and the requirements of an agricultural community from a young age. Rock also gained dedication from his involvement in Boy Scouts, competitive athletics, and his church, all of which were reinforced by his active participation in the neighborhood 4-H club.

He enlisted in the Army National Guard at age 17 to attend Iowa State University in Ames. The Army National Guard gave him a chance to both serve his nation and contribute to the cost of his undergraduate education without incurring long-term debt.

Before being summoned to active duty with the start of Operation Iraqi Freedom, he continued to remain committed to this throughout college by working as a resident assistant at ISU in a dorm. Rock served in Iraq for 15 months after being sent there in February 2003.

Rock kept his passion for construction and DIY projects by working as a handyman in Ames while finishing his senior year of college after being deployed. Through one of his jobs, he met the proprietor of Todd & Sargent, a local company specializing in industrial and agricultural construction.

Rock joined the company as an assistant superintendent at a Nevada, Iowa, ethanol plant still under construction. He relocated to the corporate office after the project was over and began working as a project estimator, a position he would retain for two years before shifting to his true passion for operations and project management. Rock could use all the abilities he had acquired via his military service, professional experience, and educational background in this field. He handled contracted projects as a project manager from beginning to end, from design and engineering to commissioning and punch listing.

Rock received business shares and a promotion to senior project manager after several years. The added responsibility allowed for much more control over project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders. Prior to becoming vice president, he advanced to managing the safety and purchasing departments. Rock launched his business in the same sector due to all these abilities.

This gives the businessman a chance to focus better on his clients while also having more time to devote to his family and further build his Ankeny, Iowa, home parcel into the ideal retreat for his wife and kids.

Academic Background

Rock committed himself to taking as many courses as he could in high school that would get him college credit as a future-focused high school student. He earned enough college credits during his junior and senior years to finish Army basic training in the autumn of 2000 and start matriculating at ISU on time the following spring.

Rock’s battalion returned to Ames after its tour of duty in Iraq in time for him to attend his younger sister’s ISU graduation. He caught up quickly and finished his degree in two semesters with a demanding academic load of 18 credits each. In the 2005 spring semester, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Finance.

Personal Hobbies and Interests

Ryan Edward Rock has been married to his wife for more than ten years, and they have three daughters. The family is constructing a new home to better suit their family needs on a four-acre tract of land in Ankeny, Iowa.
When Rock isn’t spending time with his family, he’s working on his hobby cars, fixing his house, or helping friends with their building projects.
